Its been 45 years? since they came up with that & its still the most authentic Irish music to come out of Ulster if not Ireland, since then. Irish poetry ? Irish Soul Music ? It was raw, it was real & its stood the test of time, well done lads ✊
I saw them once when they made (probably) their only tour through the west coast of the USA back about 1980 at the Whiskey-a-go-go in Los Angeles. Great show, solid musicians, solid tunes. Too bad they couldn't grow a bigger fan base. Its great to know they're still doing shows in Europe.
@@avk64 still I cannot let Punk behind neither. Ramones and Clash are above everyone else for me. But as you say: So many great Bands from that era. Fingers, The Boys ( John Plain etc.), Ruts, Adicts, Saints, Johnny Thunders, Dead Boys, Descendents and of course Dead Kennedys. Hard to chose for sure
count 'em...ya gotta sus sus sus sus sus sus sus suspect device💥 top 5 of my all time fav. bands..unparalleled energy, technical ability, lyrical content and arrangement..relevant then and now..smashin group.
We punks are getting old. It seems that we just nod and tap our feet these days 😂 SLF what a great band. They were the soundtrack to my angst driven youth and remain the soundtrack to my anti establishment adulthood.
My American folks told us kids our family line traced back to Scotland... or maybe England. But the day I first heard Inflammable Material, I started telling everyone my ancestry's Irish. Way cooler. And, Irish women have the sweetest voices in the world. Fight me.
The crowd seems kind of lame. No pit. People just standing around like they're just waiting for the next band to play. Is the whole festival this boring?

Alternative Ulster intro is one of the best ever. I still have the single - picture cover of course ;-)
Eine meiner Lieblingsbands aus den (frühen) 80ern. Damals 3x live gesehen :)

Punks not dead ✅
But it is.
Punk was a youth explosion, now its just pensioners playing old punk music to artistically sterile youth.

99% of the crowd didn't even recognise the intro to Alternative Ulster 🤣🤣 or know what Punk was
Lol dude. It’s a metal festival.
If you put SLF to play in a mall hipster festival like Coachella or Lollapalooza, the same thing will happen.
@@PedroHenrique-mj1mn If you put them in a punk rock bar in the states shit would go off.

I like his current look without the hair. It is amazing to see how skinny he was in their younger days

You know there are times when a band gets to old.
Definitely.... SLF still have it though.👌
