I like the use of PPE.
This video brought me so many tears Together we are unbeatable,
good job
Love German from Cambodia.
Oh how I wish I had that volume of silver to work with. Great footage bud. Thanks a bunch !
@Fast Cara I pour silver from very small to as heavy as 14 ozt.
It’s Germany 🇩🇪 good job 👍 perfect 👌 product.
Thank you for great video
It is oddly satisfying to watch those foundry robots working so quickly and precisely...
Still looking for the CNC Lathe.
Nicolas, that's not a lathe. It's not even doing the job of a lathe. A lathe is for turning parts. That looks NOTHING like a lathe. There is no lathe in this video.

If you were trying make me fall asleep ....It worked!
machines from the past..
Nice , nice job and video👍
Wow beautiful
Technology overload
Nice to see there were at least a couple of token human beings in the process.
Seems like a quiet plant. I'd work there.
I just got 3 Bayerische Motoren Werke. Nice machines
One just has 190,000 miles 😉 y corre chingon
goooooooooood like
07:00 Coldbox cores. No wonder that the so extreme gases. For such a thing you take hotbox cores. Although more expensive to manufacture but then the risk of gas inclusion in the casting is close to 0.
Engine block casting process is like 30 years ago lol the Should look over here with us can learn what.
Engine block is poured in a low-pressure process in a closed mold and not open top that takes so long until the frert.
There is probably 20 castings per layer out as well as the casting.
In low pressure come out 40-45 per layer.
Good job
Man that looks like slow speed technology. By today's standards that's dark ages.
amazing
wao so nice work
I LOVE BMW
Amazing! Though I feel obliged to comment that Joe Six-Packs like me must be subsidizing the industrial processes that put high-end Beemers within reach of even the most humble Untergruppenfuhrer.
Nice 😍😍😍
Amazing how the bulk of the comments are about how these guys are doing it wrong. Do you really believe that with all the hardware and design they've invested in that you could somehow do a better job than them?
LoneRiderz Yes, I'm delusional.
Yes
Bmw are trash.
Germany lost the last 2 wars. Full of bull shit technology with a exemption : nuclear. But nuclear inventive came from another country, stolen by Germany spies.
I would say, they know what their doing...
vidéo trés interessante
at 8:00 I am shocked that man is not wearing a respirator!
I think the verification of the structure must be with laser or photos comparaison . not by robot
The Germans are really amazing!
rodrigo frança why?
The are aitalians
Real nice. Now take the camera "outback" and show us your 18 semi loads of scrap....
Супер
It is interesting to note how few workers there are in the plant. They apparently automate as much as possible due to Germany's high labor rates.
For all that warehouseful of equipment, this doens't look to be a streamlined process. But it's interesting to watch nonetheless.
germany is top class about iron work..
Al
Chevrolet lsxr block in the thumbnail!
Ok

Super Car Engine Body CNC Lathe
How them Tariffs working out fer ya!!
Is that where the T1000 is made?
I want the new concept car bmw to fangtech you won't regret.
WoW
goood
Well known fact LSX are
built in Munich by BMW
They should cast in a zipper so they can unzip the block to change the bottom end bearings every 100.000 miles like the M3
Hmmm, GM LSX block in thumbnail.....best thing to swap into that BMW after the OEM engine trashes itself....
glad I'm not the only one that saw that lol.
Yep
Xem sướng thật
I TOO DO IT IN MY HOME 😕
USING CASTING METHOD SUCH AS THIS, WHAT IS THE REJECTION RATING OF GOOD CASTINGS VS DEFECTIVE?
yea!!!
Seems like 90% of the work is moving stuff around.
Isn't that pretty much every job?
Even every prophet did that at the casual street level
I don’t quite understand how these steps go, but shouldn’t workers be wearing head protection gear, specially in the presence of molten alloys?
My god that molten metal
7:56 Hot aluminum fumes.. dont breathe this.
Safety first bro
All downhill after the paramount E30.
Id love to swim in there...
Watch this before bed you'll sleep like a drunk baby
Is it a good idea to make engineblocks from aluminium? Or are they using some high strainght aloy?
Sigma N yes if you absolutly want to cast you need to use somthing like aluminium. My question is if it is a good idea, aluminium is allot less resiliant then steel and I am not sure if aluminium will stand up for the forses in anactive engine
I don’t know about BMW, But GM uses cast in place, Cast iron cylinder bore liners. The aluminum is only the super structure of the engine and components. Rotating assemblies, friction and high wear surfaces are lined with harder materials to withstand the forces on them. The engine blocks themselves are highly engineered. All the ribs and bridging cast into the part, adds structural rigidity to it. The fasteners used to assemble them, and the patterns used to connect those fasteners also add strength and structure.
Scania cast their blogs in CGI, but that is a heavy truck. Aluminium is easier to cast, and has less weight. I know my first BMW had a aluminium top resting on a cast iron block.
I also know BMW and WAG are leading the way when it comes to casting process development. There are a lot of cast parts on a car, in many different alloys.
Aluminum allows them to build a light weight engine and that benefits fuel economy and performance. But in real world use, cast iron is FAR more durable. You'll not likely pull all the threads from a cast iron block when doing a head gasket job like you will on an aluminum BMW engine. Also, in the real work overheating the engine because it went low on coolant WILL happen, and in those cases a cast iron engine is more likely to survive without warping the head and blowing the gasket, and so forth.
tempest411 So It all depends. If you intend to run the car without coolant, skip service intervals and so on, you can make your car as a Soviet truck with cast iron, but If you intend to be more refined, and don't abuse your car, you can sacrifice some of that toughness to get better performance.
A couple observations...they need to give the outside of the block a smoother contour as all that webbing traps loads of gunk and grime. All of the bolt holes should come fitted with Time-Serts, and the cylinders should have thick, beefy, cast iron sleeves that can be easily machined to the next oversize when the time comes. Lastly, there should be a bare minimum or oil channels that exit out of the block itself to cut down on the frequency of leaks. They need to go to a spin-on oil filter mounted to the side of the block (like old Fords, GM, and Chryslers), not those remote mounted housings that always leak after a few years from new.
So, why is there an American engine photo in the thumbnail?
6:00
In the comments below: people that got overtaken by a BMW and didn't like.
ALSO-NO SAFETY IN GERMANY ? (helmet)
mustafa islam what should fall from above?
Shop was strangely quiet
6:46 The sand mold is caved in in multiple places: top left, bottom left, center right (big cave-in). Basically no two engines are gonna be alike. Basically they all gonna have a little heart-murmur or holes. But jeez, i hope they recycled this one...it's pretty bad.
Mocuzelerle dolu heyat
More robots then we could have a 10 hour workweek and prosperity for all, but only if the right systems are in place otherwise it's poverty for most everyone. No world leader and certainly no billionaire is proposing the solutions.
I kinda regret buying BMW. Thinking of selling it.
Germans brain is great
The name of the block or engine .
BMW the ultimate pooping machine.
where is the music ?
That’s a lot of work for something hat is gong to Leak oil every where
A motor block should be made of cast iron then it lasts almost forever!
Yupp, but you have to admit that it will last longer than one made from aluminum!
Aluminum blocks are more repairable than cast iron.
German BMW engine block casting but use a GM lsx block in the clickbait.
cast aluminium
Alrighty then where the rest of the clip?
Made with melted down Terminators
I wonder what it feels like to get splattered with molten aluminium....
fairly uncomfortable.
0:10 dude needs to pay attention to what is going on above and behind him.
