That was Brutal mode?
I just discovered the game a month or so ago, and downloaded it. That brutal mode and the brutal mode on the game now are two entirely different things.
That looks like normal at best.
Brutal mode wiped me out, with the oversized waves, until I got a few HQ level updates with research.
So it seems like i was playing this game wrong. I DONT MAKE ANY SPREADSHEET!! I’ll make one now.
That -53 power looks like an overflow error.
I for one am super excited to see the numbers on power generation vs resource production.
Ohh I've watched the Demo and your Oni series' so I'll just sit back and enjoy the mad engineering that will happen

I too have run into power bugs, but I don't know what caused them. I suspect the power connectors get messed up.

Back 8 months later. Do you have your spreadsheet for download? Math's isn't my strongest suit, but I love games that require it. I always just tend to wing it and find things out through trial and error. I guess this is why I could only get so far at card games. They all require a lot of counting.

I have seen a bug a couple of times where the power grid will not connect to itself and you end up with multiple grids that won't connect. The other video I watched fixed it with a save and reload I think.
Sadly I can't imagine this being comfortable to play on console 🤔

seriously theres a way to zoom out on pc? man, now im even more annoyed im playing this on the xbox. I commonly get annoyed at how zoomed in it is
Yeah I know why they keep it zoomed in, but it seems like it would be a simple thing to correct. You can set it up to zoom way out, but then you reveal the map quickly and some weapons range are tied to camera distance. That's why I don't go out more.
When in doubt build more guns.
The radar I feel is very very useful. When you get overwhelmed you know where to run at least.
There is also no mob respawn in radar area so a little now-you-know hint :)
ive finished the campaign on brutal maybe 4 or 5 times now, only way to survive early game is fast research into towers and wall, renewable and gas power and resource. you wanna find an area with sludge pools large enough for 3 pumps and start making gas generators then make ironium x6 and carbonium x 8 synthesizers so that you will only need to look for and mine rare materials. - in that order. the secret is using your mech to draw the first few waves away from any structures and kite them (to allow research to walls and towers to be done)while duel wielding the right weapons, duel spear, duel hammers, and then combos with flamethrower and machinegun/plasma gun so also mines and grenades are essential in brutal. artillery towers and railgun towers will be your best friend and maybe 1 minigun tower per base wall corner for energy and blast resistant enemies. in brutal you will need alot of carbonium just for walls. walls should be 3 layers thick in early game cause after the 5th enemy wave the walls will crumble, obvs exteriors walls to take all the aggro gonna determine your survivability 30 hours in to brutal. great video, goodluck all and have fun

I found something like a bug. When the game has a canoptrix nest events, you can infinitely destroy the canoprtix shells to get infinite cobalt. You do have to make sure you destroy all of them, or it doesn’t reset until the wave is “birthed.”

You should redo campaign on brutal, 500% Spawn monsters + DLC, a big full campaign, i would def watch it all!

It’s cool to see how much and little The Riftbreaker has changed over the years.
I still hold out hope that one day I’ll get to have a symmetrical base without rocks in the way(I know they’re helpful for cover but they’re not helping the aesthetic)
Sometimes my power will suddenly go to 0/0. Is this a bug? How to fix it ?

A good weapon against them big rock guys is the fist weapon or spear, but are decently good
Dude no way this is brutal. When I play brutal my first wave is 5 times that size and its all purple dudes I usually place 10 or so turrets and between me kiting them around killing them and the turrets we barely can kill the first wave

I spend a lot of time in the mid game just relocating global resources to the colony bases since they do not get attacked while you are not there

For those who are interested in playing this, it is on xbox gamepass right now.
Warning though, the controller is clunky as hell for this game. They didnt add any features to mitigate problems like mass deconstructing a base. Had i actually paid for it i'd be rather mad i didnt just get it on the computer.
I have heard you can connect KBM and play it that way. I did not like the controller when I tried it on PC.

My black bars are on the side of the screen that I can pinch or zoom to your ratio, or fit to fill my screen.. so your ultrawide monitor would probably be perfect for my device! Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is a great product 👌
Can i survive in brutal? for sure. Would i attempt brutal? probably no because my base must look pretty and its very hard to achive in brutal while doing everything fast. I would love to see some sort of end game event, like activating some building while attracting bigger and more powerful waves each time. Hope they polish the game in the expansion. Most of the fun and thinkering aspects are locked at the beginning.

How is the optimization in the gameplay? For instance power generation, do power plants shut down when there is no load? Or production facilities halt when there is no storage?Or is this just a rate game?
I know some equipment shuts down to reduce power draw. Power generation seems to be always on.
@@brothgar I would have hoped you would be able to have reserve power production, like ONI, to cover surges when swarms come.
Or maybe those towers always consume the same amount of power no matter what they are doing...
I might have to get this game, just to check out the tech tree. lol.
looks like you really enjoy it, and it is not expensive.
@@bladorthinspear I know they got power storage, so instead of "reserve" power generation you just produce more than you need passively to have a store for the surge

About the save, is the same annoying save from oni. God those memories, is so bad.
This game looks really good. Think I'll have to pick it up. Was going to wait for a sale, but probably wouldn't drop too much in price anyway, due to it being new.
The RTS mixed with top down action is absolutely perfect for me. ARPG's are some of my favourite games, so having this kind of gameplay jazz up the RTS/tower/base defence was such a great idea.

I don't know if it's rng or what, but I tried brutal and I just couldn't progress.
4 walls deep, 44 total towers around my base and the random waves undone all the progress I had made from the last wave.
The big 'rhino' things would 2 tap me if they touched me so melee didn't work, shotgun and machine gun didn't have enough ammo and blaster too slow.
Every single wave would take out most of my wind and my resource storage, so back to square one every wave.
This dude isn't on brutal people that actually play the game know this. His first wave was the generic enemies and a super small wave at that. A normal brutal first wave is 50 or more enemies tier 3 - 4 not 30 tier 1 enemies.
Man you got a good start, i lost 3 games at the start because the "inital" wave was like a couple hundred strong including Purple tier "zergling" and "Ultralisk" type mobs. >.< took a few tries to get a plan that worked.
Yeah no way he is on brutal lol. He had a tiny mob of the basic enemies for his first wave.
When it comes to money, no life is more important even humans, if they did care about the planet earth they wouldn't be barely habitable. This game its a good example what humanity will do when they go to a new habitable planet.

I’m playing on hard and have got one big base. So far nothing has broken through my defenses. I also tweaked the setting for time to be unlimited so I’m trying to see how long I can hold out until I’m finally over run.
I’ve played many tower defense and many strategy games but I like this one a whole lot.
And I totally understand how one hour can turn into two and three hours especially when you are having fun.
Started playing and was only going to play an hour myself and it turned into a 6 hour epic defense.
I really enjoyed this. Now after watching this I’m going to start a campaign on hard. Then Brutal.
