Just hooked up my reverse lights on my 2023 Ranger XP 1000. Not sure why you ran off the battery when there is already power at the plug in the back. I ordered a wiring harness off of Amazon for just over $20 that plugs into the plug for the reverse. I then isolated the wires off of Rough Country lights and removed them from the relay plug and had to cut two other black wires to remove it from the harness. I installed flat spades onto the wire from Amazon and connected red to red and black to black and I had reverse lights. No running off the battery and no running of another ground wire to get then to work.
@@gregdrayer2863 You run a relay so you don't run all the power through the switch. You let the switch just activate a relay. Much safer way to wire stuff. Will you get away with it? Depends on how much power the lights are drawing and how long they are on. If the lights came with a relay they must think they draw enough power to need one. Just my opinion.

I have quite a few videos lined up for this Ranger project. If you are talking about the rock lights I used these: amzn.to/46UcShv I will do a video on them shortly.
There are some tube bumpers for the older Rangers but that's about it. Back then people were not really customizing these Rangers like they do now. Probably wouldn't be too hard to make brackets for some of the new bumpers to fit the older Rangers. The Rangers really haven't changed that much since then. Pretty much the same size and width. It would take a little time. I have my 3-point hitch on my 04 so I can't really put a bumper on it.
It totally blocks the camera view. I want to move it out on the bumper or tailgate, something but haven't figured it out yet. I was hoping to find an extension kit or something for the camera wires. I have a few more mods, then I can go back and refine stuff.
@@mossman381 I figured there was way because our ambulance is set up that way. Rear floods activate when in reverse but we can also manually cut them on inside
My opinion is that will be underpowered. You have a low range in the trans but I don't know if 10hp will be enough. I had one of the Ranger TM they made in the early 2000's. It had a v-twin motor in it. Not the single cylinder 500. My guess is it had around 25hp. That Ranger didn't feel underpowered but 25hp is a lot more than 10hp.
@@mossman381 I am trying to find a motor with a larger capacity, but at the same time I want to maintain the performance of the axles, such as heavy, light and four-wheel drive.
@@mossman381 Can I get a number with WhatsApp or Facebook to send you a video of the engine’s operation so I can find out what you think of the operation? Perhaps you can advise me on something to complete building the engine? 🙏🙏🙏
@@gregdrayer2863 I would have thought the box would have stopped before then. It didn't hit my tires, but it was against the muffler guard. I put a piece of rubber on the lip of the bumper that touched my muffler. It actually worked out good as long as you didn't let the bed slam into the muffler.
Really fits great ! Looks good
It's a very truck like bumper. I like that look better than some of the weird small bumpers they offer for these.
@mossman381 yeah for sure it really fits the machine great

Is it possible to have the light activate when put in revers AND have a switch to cut them on/off as needed?
Yes, you will need a two way switch and run more wires.

Hello my friend, how do I know the horsepower of the 2005 Polaris Ranger 500cc 4×4 engine?
My guess would be around 30hp.
