You might want to reacquaint yourself with Mbappe. He has 48 goals and 35 assists in 84 matches for France at only 25. Not to mention 288 goals and 126 assists in 373 career club matches. His assist today for the French goal was not an anomaly. People think he’s all about just goals. He’s not. He’s a phenomenal passer of the ball and his technique on the ball is incredible.
Yamal is the next big time player though it looks like. Scored that goal against best defence in the world

The problem for Mbappe is people only measure him by goals and not how he actually performs overall on the pitch. If you actually objectively watched him today he looked really good and his assist was sublime. The problem is the highlight reel generation demand actual games to be highlight reels and that’s not how the game works.

This is the difference between England and other countries when it comes to football. If Lamine Yamal was English we all know regardless how good he is, 1. he wouldn’t be anywhere near a top 4 club first team because they would have him wasting away in their academy u21 sides, 2. If he did manage to get a few first team games because he’s just a ridiculous talent, he wouldn’t have been called up to the England euro squad. 3. If he was called up to the squad he’d be like Anthony Gordon just rotting on the bench. English clubs and the national team have no shame in holding talent back for longer than they should. And that needs to stop. Forget age!! If the kids are good enough stop holding them back. Every other country will play an Endrick or a Yamal at 16 if they are good enough.
