- Hello everyone,
just nine days after my -29 I got probably my last improvement on the 18 Holes course. Im still surprised I got it so fast, I didnt even get a second -29 yet.
I think this round shows with more luck a -31 would be humanly possible, but I am more than satisfied with the -30 and I am not planning to grind further on (for now)...
The first 9 Holes (Resort) were similar to my old record, but on Hole 9 I had bad wind and couldnt get the eagle. The Classic 9 Holes also went great, but I almost choked it on hole 14.

Some comments and thoughts on the individual holes:
Hole 3: The wind didnt allow me on the green after my second shot. With my second shot I tried to line up my third shot as parallel to wind as possible, so a chip in is easier to get.
Hole 4: I know how to play with 0 wind under these condition to get the Hole in One and tried to adapt, but I just missed it.
Hole 5: Not the best hole to get 0 wind. To get a good distance for my flag chip I needed less than full power on my second shot.
Hole 6: The Driver strat is working well especially for this pin. I took long time for my shot (cutted out) to avoid what I call "power lag". With power lag I mean an effect that happens if you play the driver or spoon (3wood) on the second shot of hole 6. The game will sometimes overpower your shot heavily, even if your practice swings are totally fine. That cost me some good rounds before. As far as I know it doesnt happen on WiiU and only on Wii. I experienced waiting really long for your shot decreases the chances for this lag to happen.
Hole 7: Since a few weeks I started to play with the 3 or 5 Iron on the middle and right pin when I reached the fairway island. Its really important to bounce on the rough to get the perfect power. I am getting way more chip ins with this strat than before.
Hole 9: Unlucky with the wind here, thats why I called the video the "almost" perfect round. I lined up my third shot very well for this pin, but still missed the chip in.
Hole 10: Well known conditions for me, I knew exactly what to do.
Hole 14: I wanted to play slightly less than full power but I underpowered way too much, so the first tree catched me. I aimed left side of the bunker with the hope to end up on the green with my second shot. Despite landing on the fairway the shot went well under the circumstances. From there I decided to play the wedge.
Hole 16: The bounce over the bunker was lucky! I knew this can happen with this wind but I actually tried to get my shot left of the bunker to be safe.
Hole 17: I instantly recoginzed the conditions on this hole. I remembered it, because I have seen a yt-video from "drdigg" where he got the Hole in One with no aim adjust. So I paused the game and watched the video to get the power right.

This is so cool to watch! I've never even thought to play the course by clubbing up routinely on most shots. Glad you post all these videos, extremely well done to say the least! You're inspiring me to try to break my -20 personal record now lol. I sense a lot more restarts coming

Can't wait to see this! I've gotten most of the stamps on this game, but one that's always eluded me is the stamp for getting a score of -18 or better. My best is only -15. How you're somehow able to get -30 is mind boggling.

That was insane, not only because its 30 under par, its insane because you made it look like 32 under par is possible.
I cant imagine what goes on in your brain knowing that if you ever stop practicing like most of us did long ago that you would lose that knowledge, or at least some, especially when you make the change over to switch golf.
Thanks Joey! When I stop practicing I will certainly forget some lineups for particular conditions, but I will always remember my generel strats. That means which club I use and how to approach the hole.
So after a break it takes some time, but I would be able to reach my level again if I play daily.

You'd be surprised. It's actually not as difficult as it looks. I mean, yes, it's still a tough shot, but back when I used to make runs (my best was only -23 lol) I hit this shot a good 25-30% of the time. If I were better at the game, I could see it being pretty darn consistent.

About the flag shot:
I agree, hitting the flag is really not as hard as it looks. But the difficult part was to remember and hitting the correct power at different distances for every pin. The aim adjustments are more easy to learn with slow winds. High winds were tricky though. On high winds I needed to hit the flag as close as possible to the pin, otherwise the ball would often miss the hole even when hitting the flag. Especially when the wind blew east. I also tried to hit the flag as low as possible, so the ball is less affected by the wind when it dropped.
But in this round with 0 wind and a good flag position it was actually quite easy and I knew exactly what to do.

With the wind I wasnt as lucky as you think, actually the conditions could have been better on some holes (especially hole 9).
The wind speed of 10 m/s is the maximum wind speed on 18 Holes.
In the US version of the game its 20 miles per hour. Its actually the same (in game 1 m/s equals 2 mph)

That shot at 6:30 was INSANE. At first I was like wait wtf is he doing… dude lined it up perfectly with the pin like wtfff. That’s a different level
We call these shots flag chips, there are not as hard as they look, but they are very risky, because a miss is leads to a out of bounds most of the time. During score runs I only tried them on hole 3, 5, 9 and 16 regularly. On hole 5 it is a common strat, and with a lot of practice I got my consistency going. Under the conditions I had in this run it was easy to aim, but I was a littler further away from the flag as I intended. Luckily I still got the power right.

I think -31 is possible for the simple reason that I got way better on the Classic holes after this run.
So if I am able to get a -16 on Resort (which I did 2 times) and a good Classic than I think I could be able to do it, BUT nowadays I do not have the time for such a long grind...

Hey man, is there any pattern in the winds? Like do the exact same winds repeat over and over again eventually? I was just wondering if there’s a strategy you use where if you see 10 mph winds in your face on hole 1, you know that that sets you up for good winds on the par 5’s and etc.

Like I’ve consistently progressed and right now I get about -18 or -19 every time
@@abthrash15 I am still not getting high -20's every round. Its necessary to learn and play risky strats in order to get these scores. And that means I am restarting a lot. On hole 1 I restart until I get south wind and then I restart if I miss the eagle.
After hole 3 I restart if my score isnt -5 or better.
After hole 5 I restart if my score isnt -8 or better.
After hole 9 I restart if my score wasnt -14 or better.
That resulted in getting :
-30 only one time,
-29 only one time,
-28 I am not sure, but I think at least 5 times
-27 multiple times, so I didnt count.
If I was only allowed to restart for eagle on hole 1 I think I would get about -24 and better most of my rounds.

@@iamCHM I accounted on mistakes made during the run not on possible for each hole so while -43 may be possible the most likely possible is -40

You showed that -40 is the lowest possible score achievable by an absolutely perfect game.
In theory -43 is the perfect game. With Alby on the par 5s (6x -3) + Eagle on the Par 4s and Par 3s (12x -2).
That equals -42, but on Hole 16, a Par 4, a Hole in One is possible, so its -43.

Do these curve shots to counter the wind work in switch sports as well? Can you give some advice? I'm having a hard time getting max power shots on the switch aswell, on the wii it felt super easy not to overshoot...

The curve shots unfortunately do not work like on Resort. If you curve on NSS, the ball loses the height and gets way less distance.
About the full power shot:
In the beginner it felt like I had to swing a lot harder and after the first day I even felt my muscles.
After a few days of playing it got better though and it is as easy as in Resort for me now.
@@alnik001 Thought as much, it feels impossible to get Eagle on some holes without super lucky wind conditions. How do you swing, if I may ask? Do you do an actual golf swing or a horizontal "chop"?

the fact that I can watch this and be like "i would have gone a notch to the left on that putt" and even with this guy's score I was correct, makes me think ......I"ll still never get this score. My at home record is -23 and that's up there with my two children being born.

Unreal, my best is only -19. so would perfect be -40? Also, the hole 5 chip-in was awesome.
Thank you, on hole 5 you usually needs to get lucky with the wind, but I trained these flag chips to get a chance for an eagle regardless of the wind.
Theoretical perfect game would be -43 :)
