You guys ever try a buddy round. Play two players at once. Sure honors disallows the better player of the last hole to go second but in a round you’ll get a few instances you’ll have the opportunity to go to school and improve your chances of hitting th perfect shot.

The last couple of years, however, a handful of players have gotten really close, but @alnik001, you were the first one at -28. The craziest thing about this score is that there is still plenty of room for the score to go lower. This is damn impressive, maybe soon we'll be looking at a -29 or even -30.
Me and my cousins would play this game so competitively. Thank you for bringing back memories through such a solid run. You can see the nerves on the last hole, but you totally clutched the world record with that albatros. Good stuff!
So it seems like -43 might be the theoretical limit. I believe I counted 15 strokes that could have been avoided with luck (wind) and perfect accuracy.
Just think. He got a -28. One shot was 6 inches away from a hole in 1. 2 putts rimmed out. Super close to having a -31, would be an almost unbreakable record. Outstanding nonetheless.
This is amazing and it's even crazier that it could get even better. But looking at how you hit some of those shots, I don't think this record is going to stand for just a few months. THIS is history, congrats.
Just finished watching this round and all I can say is that it is incredible ! You had two missed putts that feel easy but they are so tricky... none of the tools the game provides really help in those situations; I would have probably missed as well. You made up for it with some impressive shots. My favorite is in 13, I had no idea using a driver was an option there but it worked beatuifully, even with no aim adjustment ! Good luck in your future projects, the 3 holes will be tricky and require some luck but I'm sure you'll get there.

Thanks for your suggestion, I thought about this already and I am not decided yet if I should make such a video. My english is just not good enough to comment spontaneous on this run, so I would have to write a script in order to give a correct and detailled insight to this run and into my strats.

@@alnik001 well I would definitely say hole 5 on your shot to the green, and possibly hole 3 as well, but I could not tell if that angle was open from the camera views I saw. I think you could have used that wind to easily put the ball within 10-20 ft of the pin
@@alnik001 and for you every foot matters, where those two shots to the green i am referencing, you really are accepting a tough put to get it in the hole, where you could put it along closer to help yourself out or even hit one of those in and gain a stroke
@@jeromecarlson9144 Now I see what you mean. Hole 3: There is no way to make it closer to the pin from my position after the first shot (the first shot wasnt perfect as it had not full power though). I couldnot aim more to the right because of the tree. If you suggest to pass the tree on the right side with the wind I can tell you for sure the ball would land short, because it would have more bounces on the rough. Hole 5: I see that you probably think the left directed wind would help me and I should not have used the "bendshot" (how I call it). But I can tell you the two outcomes I assume from my experiences, if I would have aimed to the right to counter the wind: 1. The ball bounces on the rough (between bunker and fairway) with the first bounce and looses a lot of its momentum. The ball lands short on the green and the putt up the hill is very hard. 2. The ball bounces on the fairway with the first bounce but now it crosses the green and lands left to it. These are only guesses from me and maybe you disagree. The bendshot could have been better, but it is hard to estimate these kind of shots correctly.
@@alnik001 Yah hole three is what I suspected then where you really had no option, which is why you had to hit the bend shot, I call it that too. Hole five i feel it would run out further because you are not fighting the wind the whole way, where that slows the ball down and gives it less flight. If anything I would think you might have to take some power off the shot if you go with the wind to make sure it doesn't go too far. I could be wrong on the physics but I am pretty sure anytime the ball is going against the wind it slows down at a faster rate, which includes the bend shot. It would add extra distance getting you up the hill easier because you are going with the wind. The landing window I agree is very tight, but I believe you have the ability to judge that with the wind, again not an easy ask.

When you swing your arm through you do not get backspin and the ball usually bounces further. Both techniques are requiable to get really low scores

Hello someone, in the game the wind speed of 1 m/s is indeed equal to 2 mph. Nintendo just multiplied the numbers by two, that why there are only even numbers on the american version of the game. The real factor is about 2.237 though.
Since you've finally got the WR, are you still trying to improve? Does this WR give you more motivation to try and beat it, or does it give you less motivation and you will just grind for something else?
I am still willing to improve, but in the near future I will not be able to put the same energy and time into this like I did to get -28. Besides playing 18 holes I am trying to get as many wr in the 3 holes segment as possible as well, and maybe after that in the 9 holes segment. So atm I feel very motivated, but just like I mentioned I have to reduce my playtime for some weeks.

I am a little confused by the approach shot on hole 5; I'm probably missing something. Why did you not aim farther to the right but instead hook it? Was there some benefit to doing this or was it just because you were having a little fun with the shot?
Hi Sawmill, well observed :). My thoughts were if I go for a straight shot and aim accordingly to the wind I would hit the rough (between bunker and fairway) on the first bounce. But I wanted to avoid that since I was afraid that I would lose to much speed on this bounce and wouldnt make it on top of the hill on the green. Even if you are just slightly short the ball would roll back down the hill which is bad on this pin position. Next possibilty would be to aim more left and bounce just on the fairway, but I think I would only be able to land on the lower part of the green or, if I play it with more power, I would even miss the green and land on the fairway on the west of the green. But I might not be right with my theories, if I ever get similar conditions I would be tempted to try the straight shot. All in all I still think that a "bendshot", how I call it, is the safer approach here if executed well.
@@alnik001 Ah, brilliant. That makes sense. One last question: do you play standing or sitting? I can really only play standing, but I struggle sometimes with keeping my shots from "bending" ever so slightly, which obviously makes a huge difference in making chip-ins and is probably the reason I can't get over the hump and break my record of -23. I'm wondering if playing while sitting is more precise. In any case, this is just a truly unbelievable record and well deserved! Good luck on your quest for -29! Based on a couple of close missed putts in this run, I think you can do it. :)
@@sawmill035 Thank you! At the time I got this wr I was playing every shot standing, except from easy putts. I sat down between the holes. But during my 3 Hole runs I began to play driver shots while sitting. And after some weeks I could play whole rounds sitting. But I am more accurate standing, I get small "bends" more often when I sit. I noticed it especially on hole 16 during my 3 Holes WR runs, where I failed the HiO lineup way more often when I sat. Now I play easy or less important shots sitting like Driver shots and I play putts often sitting because they cant bend. There is no advantage doing it, its just more comfortable. For Chip ins or iron shots I usually stand up so I am more precise. Good luck on breaking your record, I remember that I got my first -24 on the same day I got my first -23, but after this is took me months to improve, so keep up the grind :)

You hit a couple of shots against the wind direction, where you could have used the wind curve to help it role on the green closer to the pin

But I wanted to avoid that since I was afraid that I would lose to much speed on this bounce and wouldnt make it on top of the hill on the green. Even if you are just slightly short the ball would roll back down the hill which is bad on this pin position.
Next possibilty would be to aim more left and bounce just on the fairway, but I think I would only be able to land on the lower part of the green or, if I play it with more power, I would even miss the green and land on the fairway on the west of the green.
But I might not be right with my theories, if I ever get similar conditions I would be tempted to try the straight shot.
All in all I still think that a "bendshot", how I call it, is the safer approach here if executed well.

One last question: do you play standing or sitting? I can really only play standing, but I struggle sometimes with keeping my shots from "bending" ever so slightly, which obviously makes a huge difference in making chip-ins and is probably the reason I can't get over the hump and break my record of -23. I'm wondering if playing while sitting is more precise.
In any case, this is just a truly unbelievable record and well deserved! Good luck on your quest for -29! Based on a couple of close missed putts in this run, I think you can do it. :)
@@sawmill035 Thank you! At the time I got this wr I was playing every shot standing, except from easy putts. I sat down between the holes. But during my 3 Hole runs I began to play driver shots while sitting. And after some weeks I could play whole rounds sitting. But I am more accurate standing, I get small "bends" more often when I sit. I noticed it especially on hole 16 during my 3 Holes WR runs, where I failed the HiO lineup way more often when I sat.
Now I play easy or less important shots sitting like Driver shots and I play putts often sitting because they cant bend. There is no advantage doing it, its just more comfortable.
For Chip ins or iron shots I usually stand up so I am more precise.
Good luck on breaking your record, I remember that I got my first -24 on the same day I got my first -23, but after this is took me months to improve, so keep up the grind :)

No, I sit down between the shots though. I tried to learn playing while sitting but I am more accurate when I am standing
