Who Can Build the Best Surface-to-Surface ROCKET TRUCK? [Trailmakers]
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 жов 2023
- Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today we are building our own surface-to-surface rockets launched from a vehicle. The aim is to launch rockets that fall down upon our opponent like rockets launched from a Javelin launcher, except from a vehicle!

About Trailmakers:
In the toughest motoring expedition in the universe, you and your friends will build your own vehicles to cross a dangerous wasteland. Explore, crash horribly, use your wits to build a better rig, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find on your way.
Welcome to the Ultimate Expedition!
Journey over grueling mountains, hazardous swamps, and bone-dry deserts on a distant world far from civilization - it is just you, your fellow adventurers and the amazing, jet-powered hover-buggy you built yourself. Explore, crash your vehicle, build a better one, and get as far as you can with whatever spare parts you find along your way.
Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

an Air-to-Ground custom rocket/bomb PVP challenge would be neat. since the TNT should hit a lot harder than the normal rockets
They’re already doing this over in Israel
@@WAVE_ZEROYour didn't have to 💀
But that is a really good idea
@@WAVE_ZERO😂😂👍
@@WAVE_ZERO lolz
Coop challenge idea: 1 person makes a bomber, the other makes a custom guided bomb with no propulsion, only control surfaces
The person in the plane needs to drop the bomb and the other needs to pilot the bomb in order to hit a moving target
Commenting cuz I wanna see this, that was a great thought!
Was already done a lot time ago, when Cosmo, Moonbo and Kan have still played Trailmakers. search in the channel for deployable gliders or smth like that
the old gang already did something similar to this but without a moving target
or, instead of a guided bomb, kamikaze
@@ShiroK4zeit’s basically an unpowered kamikaze
I would love to see you guys both build a rocket defense system... where the other player, needs to bomb a few targets as a goal.. while the defense system needs to try to prevent it.
basically Iron Dome
Just do a copy cat of the iron dome in trailmakers as a challenge..... THEN sell it to the USA
Magnets?
a defense system would be cool
Kans rocketlauncher ist Like Air defense
I would love to see a coreless vehicle race. No limits on vehicle type or size but you have a 0 power core limit. It would be pretty entertaining to watch since they’re a little more inconsistent and I would love to see what the pros come up with for designs.
Ya
you should do a sabotage race similar to the one you did in scrap mechanic
Would love that
Yzuei made explosive pencils lol
11:14 I just investigated Yuzis video. There is stray tnt laying on the ground and he drives really close. I guess he had some kind of timer on the tnt and it explode just in the right time.
You are not Crazy, Scrapman 😂
no if you watch the yuzis video carefully you can see that he has 1 of his own missile between the truck body and the missile launcher and when he turn his launcher it clips and speeds to the ground and explodes. it is around 6.10 in yuzis video
Putting rotors to turn something that is going to turn anyway due to physics was a great over-engeneering moment.
13:35 This sequence of shots is amazing.
Also, I love Yzuei's truck functions less like a rocket launcher and more like a catapult hurling pipe-bombs.
Scrapman definitely has both the best form and function in this challenge.
I liked yuzis form more, looks a bit more like a real missile truck to me
Scrapman becoming neo for a bit at 15:02 was insane!
Day 34 of asking scrapman to battle with flying tanks
Haven't seen the video yet, but I assume this goes well. I've been dying to see a "battleship" style fight, so in order to accomplish it you could have everyone (if on multiplayer monday or just you and Yuzi) move within a selected zone for 3 seconds and then once the 3 seconds is up they have to freeze. You could either alternate firing, or what I would think would be fun is everyone take one shot at once. Then move 2-3 seconds, freeze, shoot, move, freeze, shoot. Last man standing is the winner of course. (Edit: To clarify, since you have to reset, you should either load your vehicle with TNT so when you get hit you explode, or you should just count yourself out when you get hit)
They did that about 6 months ago using the testing ground grid for movement.
A challenge of who can build the best catapult or trebuche would be cool.
you could make a plane that has the seat in the rocket and then one round you launch the rocket and have to hit the other plane and the next round you are the plane and have to avoid the rocket. Restrictions could be speed for the plane and 100 blocks for both plane and rocket so that you can't make a super op rocket. This could work also on land and underwater.
This made me think of a great multiplayer idea: Battleship.
Players are allowed to make use of up to 4 sticks of dynamite per round (so clever spreading gets points).
Each player fires their whole barrage each turn, at no lower than 30 degrees to the ground (You can use sensors to limit this).
Players can only aim once per turn, followed by firing and then repairing and relocating to anywhere they want within the time limit.
After this, their turn ends.
All other players stay stationary while it isn't their turn.
Here is the gameplay:
Team 1 Player 1 gets to aim and fire one barrage then gets 10 seconds to move anywhere they want.
Team 2 Player 1 gets to aim and fire one barrage then gets 10 seconds to move anywhere they want.
Team 1 Player 2 gets to aim and fire one barrage then gets 10 seconds to move anywhere they want.
Team 2 Player 2 gets to aim and fire one barrage then gets 10 seconds to move anywhere they want.
Of course this all repeats until one team has been eliminated and you get to have multiple rounds, and maybe even adjustments between rounds.
That was really satisfying to watch, doing a 4 player battle, FFA or 2v2, with Scrapman's vehicle would be awesome to see
That would be incredible
I wonder if there's a mine-laying challenge of some kind. Two teams lay out short range proximity mines, (maybe on a enemy colour coded trigger?) for 60 seconds to protect bases at either end of a short road they're not allowed to leave (long bridge?) and afterwards its a race to use the mine laying vehicle to clear a path to the opponent's base by clearing out the mines. Same vehicle has to lay the mines as has to get to the opponent target. Opponents are allowed to reset to lay more mines, Opponents can have untracked guns or melee devices for the mines, but can't directly attack each other. Winner is first to reach the opponent target.
Probably have to standardize the mines. If you could make the mines tricky, but not impossible, to get rid of, the pressure to be the first to breach the enemy's defenses whilst laying out mines to protect their own end of the road/bridge could be quite hilarious.
3:00 “I meme”-Scrapman 😂
17:29 I think the reason ScrapMan's rockets occasionally go straight up and then come down right near the launcher is because they're occasionally firing them while the rockets are pointed backwards. Like, keeping the launcher in vertical, but then firing while facing uphill, or while the launcher is on the backswing of rocking forward and back.
This means the rocket launches going toward the rear, but the normal forward curve from the thrust vectoring is instead just enough to cause it to loop over and come more or less straight down. If the kept the launcher tilted just very slightly forward at all times, it would probably alleviate the problem.
9:54 wow this is actually a cool example how PTRC missiles get intercepted by some sort of air defense system! Amazing job!
I think what happened in the 2nd round is Yzuei's own rocket was the one that killed him. I noticed in Yzuei's demonstration that some of his rockets don't get far at all, plus there's time where his rockets don't explode and with that firing spread, he might've just ran over his own unexploded rocket.
Mine Launchers. After seeing Yzuei's craft and how far it tossed the "rockets" and how they littered the ground / didnt explode, I think it would be cool to see both of you make mine launchers and throw them at each other from long ranges
Hey Scrapman. I would realy enjoy watching an air to air combat with mines....
Floating mines....
Srapman aiming backwards: where is it going???
The Rocket: DELAYED INIHILATION!!!
Day 35 of supporting the idea of flying tank battles
Love today's video! I wonder if those rockets would fly with better range if the servos turned *off* after a delay rather than turned on after delay? Also, It'd be real fun to see not only rounds where each person pilots their own build + a bonus of both in the winner vehicle, but also including a swapped round, and a round of both in the other same vehicle.
I've been waiting for this one!
Fighter vs bomber next! big max complexity planes that have defenses, and fighter planes that respawn with big air-to-air rockets.
(proximity) MINE BATTLE!
much like the speedster chase, but whoever can follow longest without being blown up wins
You've become masters of rocket propulsion, now it's time to go back to where it all began: catapults and trebuchets
I'd love to see an ASW match- one person in a plane/boat dropping/throwing custom depth charges against the other person's sub
(also, having watched yzuei's perspective, the explosion at 11:05 ish is one of his own shots: he didn't notice but his last rocket has a tendency to get caught on the launcher thanks to the recoil, and then either fall next to his truck or, as in this case, land on the flatbed. When he tried to turn, it got crushed and detonated between cab and truck bed)
PvP suggestion; 1) "Speed Derby" everyone has dynomite attached to their seat with a speedometer that'll set it off if they drop under 55mph; last one driving wins.
2) Drone hide and seek; everyone builds an attack drone controllable with logic blocks and a camera block, then you find a hiding place and send it out.
Super surprised at how well these worked!! Great stuff!!
I think it’d be cool to see a surface to air kinda Flack-gun that shoots TNT at a plane.
Do same again with the javlin style missiles in a battleship where there is 2 people in each boat. One fireing lots of rockets and another person using a minigun to shoot the rockets out of the air. Only rocket hits give points
This is what I've been waiting for
Y'all should do a landmine race, as y'all drive the car drops mines
You should try to do your own "auto guided" missile, controlled wirelessly or with auto aim
They've tried though it was a while back. It doesn't work very well. The sensor range is basically point blank and anything beyond that you'll just never have a target in the sensor path.
Maybe something like an anti-air truck. One of you can fly a plane that shoots larger missiles while the other runs away in a truck and has to shoot down the missiles. I haven't gotten the chance to play Trailmakers yet, but if you can blow up dynamite with the weapons it would make for a really cool way of defending yourself. If not, maybe something with a similar launching mechanism than what Yzuei built with pistons, since they tended to break right as they were launched and act as shrapnel (thats where the idea came from). Yzuei can base his build off of a C-RAM but on a truck, or something like that. It could also work with 2 teams: one person drives the truck while the other controls the gun, and the other two fly (each could have their own planes or fly a bigger one and have one control the flying and the other control the missile launch)
Explosive triathlon where you have to build a rocket capable of being effective on land, sea, and aerial vehicles.
These build challenge battles are super entertaining!
DRONE LANDSHIPS!!!
Both parties will have:
-A Mothership , a large tank-style slow vehicle with anti tank and smart cannons , might need complexity limit mod .
-An undefined amount of Autonomous ‘Land drones’ which will be released from the mothership and drive/hover/fly however it is programmed towards the enemy
I would love to see any kind of large build battles , similar to the airships etc , and any variation of this would be appreciated
Idea : Catapult explosive barrels :) You have to make explosive barrel launchers that explode on impact, catapult style on ground vehicles.
You should cover your builds with dynamite so you know when you've been hit!
An MIRV style or bomblet rocket could be fun. It would separate into individual parts at the peak of the launch and rain down destruction.
A demo derby/race with cars that drop land mines would be cool
Man, your rockets' trajectory reminds me of the V3 Launcher from C&C: Red Alert. Cool stuff!
I think since you guys have done most forms of dog fighting with missles.
I think there should now be the challenge of longe range missles.
Like you guys are perched on complete opposite ends of the map, and have to design missles that can transport the most payload accurately toward the opponents base.
A camera attached to each rocket can allow you to watch each missle in flight so you can adjust your aim, but otherwise are unaware of eachothers missles.
Could even make it like battleship where you guys take turns trying to destroy targets on eachothers side of the map that you might not be able to see from your missle platform.
2v2 guided missile battles, air or land could be fun. One person pilots/drives, the other person controls a rocket launched from the vehicle.
6:09 watching the cockpit get blown away at literally mach 1 caught me so off guard
This is exactly what I was hoping to see Scrapman. Great stuff. Would've been amazing if you managed to get more range though but along with that gave me another Idea for a challenge.
So with a similar (and maybe much larger) rocket we have a stationery build launching them to three opponents on a shared creation. The team would have to make something similar to yuzi's build but mabe with a bit if direct tuning. The goal is to defend a target of some sort (basic building or so) from 5 large missiles launched towards it. (Beit one-by-one or in staggered pairs)
Sea version of this challenge is a must, like imagine warships cruising around, shooting each other with these long distance missiles.
And i have a suggestion to aim more precisely with these long range missiles. Put a non working canon on a steering hinge, which looks around where the missile gonna hit. Set steering hinges buttons as same a you aim your rocket buttons and reduce speed of hinge which holds the non effective canon. And optimize them to work as close as possible to hit targets like if missiles goes further than aiming circle, raise the canon little bit up. So this way youll have a little idea of where your rockets gonna land.
(Btw the reason why your missiles have short range because the helicopter engine was too fast, enough to keep it in that limit, like more fast you set the engine to go, shorter the landing distance gets, slower you set it, further it goes i thought you would get that from the second rocket you sent in building process. That thing flew away to Syria)
Someone needs to make a replay mod for this game. I can only imagine how epic some of these hits (and not just in this video, in other battles as well) would look with a cinematic camera.
I would like to see this challenge done again except they use the rocket launchers using a scrapman’s lunching thing but the lunching thing is in reversed so that the rockets fly more like a mortar!
Landmine fight, a vehicle that drops land minds
This was fun and I'm impressed by how smooth a trajectory you managed using helicopter servos. You know what game would also let you do fun things with modular rockets, including missile interception systems? From the Depths. You should definitely try building some rocket trucks in From the Depths. (Or you could say you don't think it would be a good fit and I'll stop pestering you about it.)
In terms of payload challenges (in either FtD or Trailmakers), you could try ground launched MRVs. So not only do you need to get the rocket to fly up and then arc back down, on a stable trajectory, but you also need it to split into multiple submunitions that also maintain stable trajectories.
He coud useb 8 dynamite insted 4
What's interesting is that you can actually see rockets turning back toward launcher IRL
Kamikazi would be so awsome, with like, two planes and something like a battleship with two people!
I've watched too many of your videos, to remember them all, so... Here's an idea for a team-based one which I hope you haven't done yet:
Tiny dynamite-tipped kamikaze planes vs huge plane with a first-person view gunner.
I don't think they have done that.
I would like to see that
Maybe a fun video idea: an rc rocket battle where you spawn on de edge of the map opposite of eachother and the first person that hits the other persons launchbase gets a point
A cluster rocket would have been devastating
Try to make a venichle together, like scrapman is building the essentials and Yuzie is building the estetiks around it. Would be interesting, what will result
Yuezi broke the rule that you can't aim straight at your opponent at 14:20
Would it be possible, to build mines? The rockets from Yuzi on the ground at least behaved like that. Maybe that would be an interesting challenge.
What about custom cannonball's on a ship?
Ideally, you would each build a ship with a launch system of some kind to toss small dynamite balls. Would be interesting to see what you both could come up with for designs.
You are effectively making your own versions of the existing gunpowder cannon, but with more potential for variability in both the design of the cannonball payload AND the launch mechanism. Being mounted to ships, recoil is now also a factor, so the more powerful the system, the larger the ship to handle the recoil and the larger the target.
An anti-air survival challenge with flak cannon type vehicles would be pretty cool. Launch bombs into the air and they explode at a certain altitude or after some time.
When Yzusi said Scrapman had 3 points, Scrapman actually had 4 points
You should try a team game where each team has a ground to ground launcher like SM built here and a defence who fires machine guns at the incoming rockets to explode them in the air
Surface to Air Missiles that must hit some kind of floating target could be fun. Or Air to Ground. Maybe even Surface to Air vs Air to Ground. Water to Air is another potential idea, using same concept of having to hit a set target or something. For the Surface to Air & Water to Air, another possibility is you guys also make some kind of large plane alongside the missiles, or even use a premade thing. If you go plane idea, the goal is to shoot it down basically or something. The missile system could have infinite repairs while the planes fly until unable.
Co-op challenge idea: glider payload battles
1.glider relies on payload for propolsion
2. Have to land B4 you repair
i'd love to see you guys try making homing rockets! Those torpedo's Yzuei made were so cool and it'd be hilarious just watching you all trying to dodge and weave around different types of them while trying to hit with your own
An idea. A vehicle/plane to lay land mines, and a vehicle to clear a path through the land mines. Could be a race down a road to see who can clear the road fastest without blowing up.
Land to air missles would be awesome to see, either an anti air gun protecting a base while the other is a bomber, or two of you racing to shoot down a third airplane with it's own pilot.
Maybe hover pad lifted torpedoes and fighting with amphibious craft. Or even better, making a torpedo that stays under water and attacking each other in submarines.
I would love to see some sort of guided munition battle
You and yuzei should do a challenge where you can ONLY use raw jets for propulsion on aircraft
You could try space battles where the thrust is caused only by the weapons.
You should do a co op build, function and beauty.
It would be neat for y'all to do a battle where you swap builds between rounds.
There is one thing to do: RC rocket battle. Build a ship or V-tol, create a RC rocket, fire at the same time and see who gets who.
"Intercontinental" rockets from one end of the map to the other end would be fun. Each of you with an own destructable base. Whoever hits first wins.
I love how these 2 trucks operated
Withs scraps having his missiles use a vertical launch system like the chinese/russian TOR Sam system (yes i know theres others like it)
And uzi having a more katyusha like firing system
Its really fun to see where you draw inspiration from with the firing mechanism
you guys should make stunt planes but they have to be as small as possible.
Use the piston momentum to create a rail gun, see who's the best sniper against vehicals trying to reach their position
A landmine only battle or proxy bombs would be such a good battle.
Pls do it
Please do ATGMs anti-tank Guided missiles. Kinda like this rocket idea, but gotta be able to guide them
Rockets that track the enemy's position, drivable rockets, nuclear bombs, or ICBMs would do the trick for new video ideas.
Bomber vs gunner planes, bomber has 500 block limit and gunner get 10 power core limit and 100 block limit, and it's 2v1 or 3v1 depending on who is available
Post space idea: Star Wars inspired dogfight.
Pre space update idea: Battlebots inspired fight. 250kg weight limit, melee weapons only (no explosives) and each round lasts 3 minutes. No power core or block limit, and only power comes from engines, no thrusters. This is inspired by the show Battlebots.
THE CAR CRASH BROKE THE SPEED OF SOUND
Damn, scrapman here making ATTACMS in trailmakers just after they're delivered in Ukraine, what a reference 🔥🔥🔥
You guys should try and make 2 tiny planes that connect into a big plain it would be super cool
Do ICBMs next. You launch and control one massive rocket with limited fuel and try to destroy other's silo
Here's an interesting twist. Make a battle or a race. You build your tank / car / plane but you give your creation to the other player. If you make it too good you're dooming yourself, if you make it too bad then your adversary will do the same.
For another payload challenge - how 'bout minefield layers where you have to spread explosives around and try to herd your opponent into into them
Idea, Battle Rockets. Since the new space update is coming out soon, build rocket ships that will fly near each other and try to take each other down.
Perhaps you should try doing battles with propeller driven rockets! No boosters or rocket engines, only thrust comes from propellers.
asking scrapman to build a machine that pushes one building into another one, like a domino, in instruments of destruction
Maybe make a vehicle that has like both air ground and water rockets, like the multi all in one vehicles that he made before.
Maybe you could try a drone styled thing that hovers at an altitude and drops a bomb on the ground like a satilite against a target
