Brother.... After watching your cool interview with William Johnson, I am very grateful for your teaching vids. Very few have any idea of the time management it takes to video, edit, perform, and prepare the details to create them. Thanks you for caring for your fellow percussion aficionados and for your Son who will appreciate the history you leave all of us. Bless you Bro.
Man I appreciate it man!!! If people only knew how much work it takes to produce these videos… you’d think I’m crazy hahaha but I truly enjoy sharing and it’s what keeps the flame sparked to continue sharing
No doubt, your dedication is phenomenal and we all get to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I've become a much better conga player because of your videos.
I just learned this today. I had a good laugh when you looked in the camera and said, " That's it....and it looked so difficult. Right?" I put off learning this just because it did look so difficult. It only took 20 minutes thanks to you. Now I'm addicted to this rhythm. Thanks for doing what you do.
Well Eric, now you’ve done it. You forced me to Bring out one of my drums that go boing to do this pattern. Haven’t played it since my Mopercs arrived a year and a half ago I need a shower, I feel unclean! Thanks for the lesson, it’s a great pattern!
Excelente, Maestro!!! Gracias a tus tutoriales, ahora se me hace más fácil entender y lograr varios patrones, incluyendo este Groove. Un fuerte abrazo desde Maturín Monagas Vzla.
Thank you for such an amazing pattern explanation and patience of this bell pattern. I thoroughly enjoyed the path to rhythm melodically. I appreciate you giving props to the originators as well. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more in 24. Take care.
Man it blows my mind every time you demonstrate a pattern and then start speeding up. It shows how much time and dedication you have put into your craft. Bendiciones mano! 🔥❤
I know Im asking randomly but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the account password. I love any tips you can offer me!
@Kason Thaddeus Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Was recently watching one of your early videos where you were soloing on 5 LP Palladium congas. It sounded great, however, fast forward to your more recent videos and every aspect of your work has evolved beautifully (from production, to sound quality, content, etc.). Great work Eric! Best of luck in all your endeavors. P.S. the Giovanni tutorials are really helpful. Hope you do more….
Hey Eric love your teachings!!!!! question or maybe a suggestion..... Can you also include the tones or what your tuning the the drum to...? cuz sometimes we dont get the same sound due tuning. I have LP Meinl and Toca jimmy Morales and tring to get the sound is a brain storm thanks Dios te Bendiga
That is a misnomer, not really the "Giovanni Hidalgo Bell Groove" ... it's really a rhythm created by Lazaro Alfonso who is the late Jorge 'El Niño' Alfonso's brother, it's called 'Tumbata' also referred to as 'Batumbata', the late Jorge 'El Niño' Alfonso used it often in many Irakere recordings. It can also be played with a cowbell mounted to one drum and a stick in one hand, the stick plays the bell and on the drum heads, both Jorge 'El Niño' Alfonso and Daniel Ponce often used it. ua-cam.com/video/w769PArHZ14/v-deo.html
Sooooo there is a pattern that you can use that you can make it work on 3 drums… here’s an old vid but literally just use the first half of the tutorial and you got it. ua-cam.com/video/nK3S2N82OqQ/v-deo.html
@@APercussionLife Thanks Eric. I looked at the video of your link but i also need 4 congas... What a shame that there is not a pattern for a poor Guy who has only 3 congas. I like very much that pattern but i can’t play it. It’s annoying !
@@APercussionLife Eric , I have tried the previous video . Actually , i can play the first part as you said . I have to stop just before the 4th conga . A half pattern is better than nothing ! I am going to look at your last link . Thanks a lot ! I really like this kind of pattern . I have to buy a requinto !!
I just saw your last video . Great !! With 3 congas ! I can all the pattern . Thanks my god !! Excuse my english . I am French . You're my teacher since a long time now .
The sound of your congas is magic
Thank you so much for taking me to school, I've studied, played and been paid..now I'm learning what I thought I already knew. Good stuff

In early! Man Eric, your vids are great. Very instructive. Love listening to your playing, to your explanations.
Nice what seems so difficult is really not that complicated. Nice video instruction as always.. Sounds familiar with a bata rhythm.
