I love the idea of using a piece of matching wood to mark and reference metal cuts. I'm in the process of building a white oak and steel coffee table and am goin to use this and will definitely give you a shoutout for the tip. EDIT - sick SawStop - I just upgraded to the PCS too!
The holes in the steel plates that I used to attach the table top were oversized compared to the bolts I used. This all was the top to expand and contract.
Steve Cobain just poorly timed on the video. My bad. The video I’m still doing my original sanding and then between coats I use a sanding block not the orbital sander
Top quality work! You are a master of your craft and your videos help us amateurs learn some cool techniques from a pro
Bryan Simpson thanks Bryan! Almost feel like I’ve known you for years with a comment like that

Workshop Edits thanks so much!! Oh man, that saw is unbelievable, even without the added security it’s a fantastic saw.

PS: The table looks awesome!

Great vid. I would love to be able to weld but I hate metal work haha.
Love that stool you're using in the shop. Something you made?
Dawntreader233 thanks, yeah I made that as well. 6/4 walnut top 13” in diameter and 1.25” square steel tubing for the legs
Jealous of your metal working skills! Welding is on my list of things to learn.
Que tipo de madera utilizas??
How do you deal with the wood movement of the top?

People use random orbital sanders for between coat sanding?
