I have a pair of dwarf lops,a girl and boy. They are 5months old. Watching your mumma rabbit with her babies, i can imagine what my Ruby will be like as a mum..... however preparing for the birth if fragile bunnies seems daunting! Especially as 1st time mums can be uninterested by the babies and are better the 2nd time around! Buts its exciting all the same! Your bunnies are so cute... i love mumma rabbits eyes so pretty. The babies are adorable and I love their lil noises too!
Bunnies are most careless mom's. I had to catch the bunny by the legs so that babies could get the feed from her. Sometimes she would stomp on the babies and run away. So I had to keep all the babies with me in a basket just like a nursery.
@@user-ql5qv2oj6r those rabbits might be experienced. The person from whom I brought the bunnies when they were one month old said the same thing, to feed the babies by catching hold of the mom or else you may lose the first few batches of its babies. So after I lost the first 3 batches, took away the babies from the fourth batch. All babies survived then. Same thing happened with my friend's bunny whom I sent my male rabbit for mating. So he kept all the babies in a shoe box filled with wood shavings. When the babies grew up a little, she used to allow them to be fed independently.
@@user-ql5qv2oj6r though the male rabbit was very caring. He was very calm compared to her and used to lick her most of the time.😂 He had second wife too at my friend's house. 👍 We got plenty of baby bunnies through him. I brought it from my neighbour who had plenty of rabbits in their home. It was strange that two different coloured bunnies gave birth to full white babies along with their own replicas.
lemompie it’s hard for a bunny to do everything at once.Especially feeding the babies from the breast.I think that’s eating hah and feeding g the babies and giving love and attention to all of that.
Bunnies wiggling and jiggling under the mother, thirsty for milk, thirsty for life. Brilliant how you cajoled the mother to lift up with a tasty pear so her kits could feed. Mama rabbit ignores her kits as she savors the pear. I don't know much about rabbits. Are mother rabbits usually so indifferent to their bunnies?
Mother rabbit it's not such a good mamma with her first set of babies, because they don't really know what to do all the time, plus when their babies are eating the mother can get stressed, so feeding her or having some comfort really helps ^^
my rabbit has had two litters. we had heard that first time rabbit moms normally let the kits die, but mine did fine! i think it really depends on the environment they’re in. in the wild, rabbits only feed their babies once a day (often at night or early morning) so no predators catch her scent and find the babies. because of this, rabbits are very rarely in the nest tending to their babies. it’s very different than how dogs or cats are constantly checking on their pups/kittens. rabbits don’t want to lure predators to the nest so the normally only visit once a day. i think with domestic rabbits, if the rabbit is more comfortable with her owner/her habitat, then she will feed the babies more if she senses no danger. rabbits don’t really protect their kits as much either, because in the prey mindset, if the babies die, she can always have more. no reason to risk her life to protect a couple of kits when she could have plenty more litters later
Congratulations on the video!!! I loved!!! Please tell me what food you were providing for her, as my rabbit is pregnant and I will do as you did, as it is very difficult for the mother rabbit to feed, and that way it was calmer. Thanks for sharing with us!!!
Bro everyone in the commented be dying of cuteness and there me who just wondering if anyone gonna mention that she/he whatever had to move the food cause the babies where freakin kicking her in the face lol
Is the food bait to keep her there while kits nurse? She did not seem interested in nursing them and had little interest in bathing them once they were done which is necessary and a sign of being bonded.
She didn’t want to nurse. Bunnies are non always the great mothers, especially with their first litter. I had to feed her to keep her in place so babies can have some milk.

Smh.
That’s adorable of how bunny loves her babies.

She is a good momma and the babies are very cute congratulations.
She seems more concerned about her meal than her babies'. Cats give more respect to their kittens.
Then again, nursing mothers need more calories to feed their babies.
True 👍🏻

Good idea! With the apple raised above her head so she lifts up some so they can get underneath amd she stays :)
