Next time could you talk about how you began to plan out your travel at the very beginning? I’m sure there was waaay more to it than picking a country and securing flights and lodging. I’d love to hear more about that.
Maybe another 'Tidbit Tuesday' video could be about children if you plan to have them if you would still travel with them or if you would settle down and raise them. If you would still do youtube either way. I see a lot more people starting to travel even when pregnant and with children. If you're not planning on having children anytime soon, then no worries :)
This was great and very timely. I've been in my current position for 30 years having worked for same company 38 years. I recently had minor hand surgery so I've had a couple of weeks to reflect on my life. Plus, since I could not work, I've been binge-watching your channel! As Ashley had expressed for herself, I have become completely frustrated and have lost my happiness. Prior to the surgery, I was not sleeping well, I felt physically ill every day I walked into the office. I now know these issues are directly attributed to the daily stress I carry trying to "please and take care" of everyone's needs. I just can't take care of them anymore, I need to take care of myself and my marriage. I'm considering retirement. It will mean a reduction in finances but life is too darn short. We have trips we want to take now while we have the means of doing so. Thank you so much for the tips and insight you give us with each video :) Stay safe out there!
We can so relate to this. Jo(my wife) and I retired early so that we could make travel a greater part of our lives. We don't travel full time like Josh and Ashley, but we get around. Hope you can find your way to more travel. Good luck!
That was great insight into how you've come to be here and who you both are at heart. Ashley--I know that hospitality grind. I worked close to 100 hours a week as a Director of Catering before I finally burned out. It's terrific that you learned to set limits! Thanks for sharing!
Great video, love the candid chats as I can especially relate to Ashley’s experience with her job taking over her life. Glad you guys went for what you love to do. 💕
I was wondering about this myself! So enlightening! Funny how fate/destiny works huh? I knew you guys had big hearts and what you did with the kids only proves it more. I LOVE the intro and the thumbnail is too cute!! "Tidbit Tuesday" sounds good :) I wish I could get paid to sit through court shows. Sadly, my brother is addicted to Judge Judy, Mathis, People's Court etc. Well I may not be sitting there but with the TV so darn loud it's hard to ignore UGH lol.
You guys are so great. I loved hearing your story i think a lot of people will be inspired to live their dreams because of this episope. Also i like the title Tuesday Tidbits.
Yeahhh!! Thank you for being so positive about the changes we're making. I love getting feedback where you're excited about what we're doing. So sweet! -Thank You -Ash
Very interesting video. Had figured that Josh had a tech and/or film background, but good to hear about Ashley's experiences. Hopefully the traveling is something you both can continue to enjoy going forward. Sure there are some stressful moments, but at least you are your own bosses.
:) I like that we can share what helped shape who we are and what we do. Everyone is on their same path and no one can tell you what that is. Thanks so much for watching. -Ash
Who'd of thunk, one of my favorite UA-camrs is also a Red Lobster alumn...lol. I worked in the Milwaukee location to pay my way through college :). Awesome. Anyways, love what you do, be well. Hopefully I'll catch you in Thailand, planning my trip for the winter sometime this year.
Great video! I have been looking at traveling more because of your channel. My husband and I have a small vacation planned for June (we are staying in our state of Texas, it's a big place!) AND I just purchased tickets today to go to DC. I'm so super excited. Thank you for making these great videos!
I am so excited for you. Travel does not have to be over seas. I love that you two are exploring your own backyard and I've also hear DC is a great place to visit. Its for sure on our list of places to see. Please let us know how your trips go. -Ash
You guys are such inspiration ❤️ I am going through some not good time but listening to your journey and how it brought you to this ! Inspired me today ❤️
Very interesting...a pattern of unconventional opportunities...let's hear it for strong personal and professional ethics and for being a couple of good brainiacs! you guys have SO many twists and turns to come...praying they are safe, inspiring and lucrative...filled with love and health!
You guys are funny and looks like friendly and cool to hang out with. I dunno if you guys tried a fast food in the Philippines called jollibee? By the way new sub here from 🇨🇦!!!
The salary comment was really interesting. I never looked at it in that way but you are so right. I guess in the UK most people seek out salary jobs and people frown on zero hours contracts but you just put a different spin on it and I like that.
Pahaha Sad to say we may have made it sound worse. In the US most people are in salary jobs. I guess thats what defines a career AND its not always a bad thing if your work for a good company that takes care of their employes. -Ash
I do not understand every word, but I'm watching you since you came to Turkey. You are a great couple. I hope you always happy. And I hope I did not ruin English. :D
What about 'Talk Oh Tuesday.' LA my home. I grew up in the Echo Park/Silverlake area. :) My daughter did a lot of extra work. She is an activist and actor. Look up Shawnee Badger.
Please share advices to those people who would like to do what you guys are doing, how to start, tidbits of some hurdles you encounter.. things of that nature pls.. :)
Ashley, totally get the hospital burn out. I worked in hotel sales for 7 yrs and catering for 1...they were the jobs where I learned the most in and have train me well for other opportunities, but I would not do it again:) It is funny how in the USA we feel guilty if we work only 8 or 9 hours a day and when we take vacation we are still checking work emails. My philosophy know is to work and do a good job, but look out for #1 ME! At the end of our days I doubt we will say "I wish I would have worked more". It is great you are both doing something you love now, not waiting for when you retire from jobs you didn't like.
Nice vid as always. Love this channel. Josh, you're looking a bit thin n gaunt though. Is everything ok or you just missing some G-Ma homecooking? Keep up the great work!
Would you consider hosting Way Away tours? It could be a lot less pressure & more fun! Smart move on avoiding expensive film school - most friends who went that route are still trying to repay their loans & NOT doing anything in filmmaking.
You know we've thought of it but at the moment we don't have plans for something so grand. For sure in the future we will mess with the idea a bit more. :) -Ash
Sometimes "less is more" - I think if you put some feelers out, you can get interest and almost name your price. In other words, putting on a smaller scale than what you did with the missionary work can probably create more a "limited edition" feel. And you can handpick who goes with you. Just some thoughts.. :)
Too early... can't read English before first cup of coffee..... *yawnnn*.... Oh and I claim the language barrier!!! Yepyep, that's it.... Language barrier!!! No speak English at 7 AM ... ;-)
Thank you all so much for watching these 2+ years! What question should we answer in the next “Tidbit Tuesday”?
Next time could you talk about how you began to plan out your travel at the very beginning? I’m sure there was waaay more to it than picking a country and securing flights and lodging. I’d love to hear more about that.

Did you guys go to college?

I hope the hand is better! It seems work stress is a major problem for us pleaser types. I'm glad the video was helpful.
We can so relate to this. Jo(my wife) and I retired early so that we could make travel a greater part of our lives. We don't travel full time like Josh and Ashley, but we get around. Hope you can find your way to more travel. Good luck!
Seem like such good people - esp. Ashley - so down to earth & hard-working, even in LA. Much Respect.
You guys have a fantastic attitude. Everyone should be as positive and be kind to everyone at all times.
Haha We’re so glad you enjoyed it. A little secret is that we do have our days where being positive is difficult😉
This is inspiring! And I love your smile, Ashley!

I'm really enjoying watching this tidbit Tuesday segment
Awe thanks! It’s fun to share a bit more ourselves and dynamic. I love seeing others can relate and I’m not the only one:)
You couple are really sweet! Thanks for sharing your insights!
Great video, love the candid chats as I can especially relate to Ashley’s experience with her job taking over her life. Glad you guys went for what you love to do. 💕

Much respect for being part of YWAM! That's awesome.
We loved it. 3 years in YWAM was for sure a HUGE highlight in our life. Super fun to see people in our community are familiar with it. -Ash
Thanks for sharing and the sacrifice your big hearts in leading and helping kids to grow! What an experience!👍🏻
Beanie you're so sweet! It was for sure a hugely rewarding experience. -Ash
Thanks for sharing. It all makes sense now how you're both so skilled doing this sort of thing.
:) Im so glad a short video like that can explain so many things. -Ash

Love this video guys! I can relate in so many ways. Not the same journey but a similar path. Thanks so much for sharing!
Very interesting video. Had figured that Josh had a tech and/or film background, but good to hear about Ashley's experiences. Hopefully the traveling is something you both can continue to enjoy going forward. Sure there are some stressful moments, but at least you are your own bosses.

It was a cute video and very informative. Loved the intro and the title!
😍Aww thanks! Trying to make it a teeny bit more than JUST a sit-down video with the intro bit.
You guys are such inspiration ❤️

Syed Im sorry to hear you're having a hard time. I'm glad we could bring a little light into your day. I hope things get better for you soon. -Ash
I love that you went to LA and tried lots of things. I hear you on the salary lifestyle.
A life of adventure from the beginning! :p Nice to reset sometimes. Other times I wish I had the answers I knew now and to start over. Haha.
I love this couple...his wife is always happy is she know how to be angry
