For anyone needing additional help. I did this swap on my 1998 Honda Accord ex f23a1 with baxa trans to jdm f23a1 mgpa trans. Super easy. I used EVERY sensor off my old eng/trans on the JDM motor/trans, some sensors are the same, some are not. Doesn’t hurt to swap all of them even though I think the only ones you NEED to swap are the transmission sensors. Used the intake and exhaust manifold off the bad engine. Powersteering pump on JDM motor has a 90 neck on the inlet pipe. you can use it but it’s gonna take lengthening your old hose or just using your power steering pump off your old motor. Make sure you use Honda brand DW1 transmission fluid. If you’re reusing your old radiator make sure you flush the trans lines and part of radiator that the trans fluid runs through. I added an inline transmission filter and a transmission cooler, you don’t need that but it can only help. Make sure you have good ground connections. I made a few of my own and hid them. Battery to block, block to frame, frame to body, Battery to body, blah blah blah. Change your timing belt on your new motor before you put it in. And when you get done with all that. drive the car. Get it up to operating temp. Put it in park. Turn all lights and accessories and hvac stuff OFF. then rev the engine to 3000rpm and hold it there for 5 mins. To let everything relearn/reset. My Speedometer is slightly off due to the jdm transmission having different gear ratios. No check engine light and running like a champ.
@@Thepurpleguerrilla Oh that's kool. Ok so I posted my issue on this page. Basically I swapped a jdm engine into my Usdm Ulev accord and it never ran the same again. My question is. Do I need to change ECU to properly do this swap? If so I was told to use a couple of different ones and now I'm confused again.
@@Pauleazy420 i’m pretty sure you need a different ecu, ulev has a few small but key differences. like the o2 sensors and one of the sensors on the intake. the head is different too. i’ll do some digging and try and get back to you asap
I'm installing a f23a1 engine on my 95 Honda Accord ex. It doesn't have the plug for the Crank sensor on my harness, but before with the Crank sensor not being plugged in. It will still start. Will it be a issue now when I put the f23a1 engine,or no?
I had someone do this for me on my 2000 cg6 and the car was never the same. I took it to 2 shops and had a backyard mech look at it. No one could tell me what was wrong. I just ended up getting a daily and my 2000 sits in my driveway all sad. That was in 2015 and I don't want to let it go so if anyone can help me with some info that would be great.💯

You didn't go over the crank position sensor not being present on the JDM engine's oilpump? This usually requires a CKP bypass wiring trick at the ecu. Did you F23A have one?
