Get rid of that ESC because you will pop those capacitors and 🔥🔥🚗🔥🔥.I would go with hobbywing, castle creations etc. especially if you are changing the gearing.

Repositioning the ESC with heavier gauge wire shortening or wider with wire leads I just bought the same ESC let's see what it does with shorter wires
The ESC if fine.. the problem comes in if you overgear it, or if you get the ESC wet without taking the cooling fan off first.. I have spoke with a lot of people and I have had a total of 3.. 2 are still working fine.. I made a video about it if you are interested...

I put that same new ESC on my Redcat Shredder now I have no steering I can't turn left or right but the motor runs great?
1st thing I would check is make sure the servo is plugged correctly into the receiver maybe it pulled loose or disconnected when you were swapping the ESC wires?
If everything is connected correctly,
Second thing I would try is reprogramming the steering and throttle trim on the transmitter/ receiver?
The servo gets power from the receiver and the receiver gets power from the ESC, if the motor is working, the ESC and receiver are getting power..
The steering servo either isn't getting power or the transmitter isn't programmed correctly..
another thing to check is make sure the servo saver isn't loose.. this is also a common problem with the shredder steering.. meaning maybe the servo is turning but it's loose so the tires aren't..

Channel 1 should be the servo,
Channel 2 should be the ESC..
But now we know the servo is definitely working we just need to get it to work correctly, if you put it back into channel 1, if it still won't steer, then I would definitely try to reprogram the transmitter..
maybe it was the wires i have been useing they were smaller cause its all i had an i never changed the smaller wires its all i had i made my own out of what i had thank you do you think its the smaller wires burning up the esc but i got to 57mph but had alot more trigger the stock tires cant stand the speed it thu the foams an i stoped there the plasitc spur was the first thing to go 49 t was what i had still 15 tooth pinion thanks for the video it was my wires an i couldnt keep it straight half the time
Yes the tires are one of its biggest downfalls if you want to go fast with it, The fastest I have caught it on video was 53, that was on 6s with stock motor and pinion. I wrecked it before i could reach top speed with the higher gearing because i was driving at night. I'm working on a video now trying a different battery set up, and getting it back running.. by then I should have a decent set of tires ordered also..
U got to upgrade your esc with a speed control
im a little confused, an esc is an electronic speed control..

how long did the esc last i have burned 2 of them up same thing as you got never tried it on 4s
I have two of them, one in the shredder and one in an 1/8th scale buggy. They are both still working fine. I had one fail due to the esc fan getting wet, I had a few people say theirs failed but they were mostly due to over gearing, if you remove it before getting the esc wet and you don't over gear it then you shouldn't have any problems really.
What batteries are you using now, still 4s?
yes on this video i believe it was still 4s, but up to 6s on a later video
OK so mine won't throttle but steering activates, I recalibrated correctly and still nothing so I suppose I'll buy another ESC but I figure if I am I may as well upgrade to something better then the stock, does anyone have any suggestions around 60 bucks...or am I going to have to spend much more then that? :\
I recommend the surpass hobby or gool rc they are the same.. 150amp esc, i have made a video on it if you check my channel I have two of them so far I haven't had any problems except the fact that you have to take the cooling fan off before you get the esc wet or it can short out and catch fire, also over gearing has been known to fry them but that is for any esc.
@@williamblanks8500 i was actually just checking out the 80A goolrc esc on amazon for 45$ its right in my price range, that would be just fine right? i honestly and perfectly happy with the amount of power this rc already has so i actually dont really feel the need to upgrade but yeah the goolrc brand seemed legit for sure..plus it like the one of only 2 brands on amazon in 80a lol, and cool yeah ill check out your channel thanks man.
