Ibuki Imata is a professional dancer/choreographer who specializes in waacking. Her musicality is amazing. She was the one who got me interested in waacking i.e. how to do it and watching waacking competitions every now and again.
The first time I heard of waacking is when I looked up a Korean dancer and it turned out he sort of "specialises" in waacking. It looks so cool, but I didn't even know it was a thing! I would love to try it some time. ^_^
I remember seeing this video a while back but I didn’t have it saved. I was searching for ages just to find this video. Although you only have one video. It’s my favourite vogue tutorial.
I learned alot from you showing your technique but even more from your words. After being in the waacking world for almost three years and meeting amazing dancers amd getting advice from them, coming back to my first waacking technique video (yours) alot has come to light. If you still dance please upload more or tell us your instagram!
Perfect content. I just discovered this style of dance and used your video for my first session. Thank you. I would love to see more 'how to' choreos from you ;-)
Excelente Esplicacion.. Otros Videos de otras Personas No lo Hacen así de Bien explicado el antes lento y sin Música y después Con Música a el Ritmo. Well done
In waacking, there aren't official names for the steps ;)) Basic number 3 is usually called "overhead(s)" though but its more of a personnal choice. And thank you for the support :D
btw I'm watching the first few seconds on 0.25 speed for an hour now and try to reconstruct the asymmetry and the swirly thing you do around your head with your right hand. Anyone an idea what exactly happens there?
I had to break that part down. What helped me, I hope it makes sense to you, is when your twirling your forearm in, make sure your fist is pointing up to the sky in a circular motion before you bring your fist around to your shoulder. I practiced that a few times and it became more fluent for me Hope that makes sense.
