As a Nova Scotian who grew up low income. I’ve met many Ricky, Julian, and yes even a few bubbles. This show has a special place in my heart. Not because I’m Canadian. Or Nova Scotian. But because these are my people. Sure it applies to anywhere. The drugs, the liquor and the smokes, the crime. But it’s the little things that really make this show a part of my home. I left my heart in Sunnyvale. And that’s where it’ll stay.
I grew up in a trailer park on the west coast & this show will always cure my homesickness, no matter what. I knew so many of the characters in the show as real life counterparts, but by far the most accurate stereotype is Mr. Lahey - EVERY supervisor was like him. All were power-hungry dicks who thought they were cops.
i feel the same way coming from US trailer parks. this show really captures the essence of some of the lives being lived in my environment. the ridiculous, mundane, trivial, abrasive, but, heartfelt, loving and caring atmosphere. its illustrated well and i really love the show for it.
💓Awwww?! 💙It’s sad to see you guys go, but of course all good things have to end sooner or later....but I’m sure you will ALL enjoy your lives as “retirees”! So, if you guys had it to do over-is there any aspect of TPB you’d do differently, or would you do everything in the storyline, & scripts, etc., exactly the same?! I think if anything needed to be changed, or bleeped out, it’d be the use of GD, and Jesus Christ’s name being used in a profane context, since doing so isn’t necessary, as well as could be offensive to some viewers, and doesn’t add anything to TPB, and it’s very funny on its own! Besides, the other swear words that are used give TPB that “trailer parky” dynamic it needs! Anyway, thank you guys so much for creating one of the BEST, funniest, and very entertaining satires of trailer park life! 💓God Bless all of you! 😘💓☺️💓💯💓😉🕊
This is one of my favorite songs, and one of the prettiest pieces of music I've ever heard. It gave me an immediate and intense sense of nostalgia for childhood summers. Plus this show is fucking awesome.
erraticme I read that the composer of this song wrote this when his daughter was born. So I see the connection between the nostalgia for childhood summers and innocence hehehe! This song makes me feel good, like I'm in paradise!
I remember going through netflix, and seeing "Trailer Park Boys" and thought it looked like crap. A few days later it came up again and thought to myself fuck it, lets give it a shot. I had never been so wrong. I really enjoyed it. Helped me through ups and downs, made me laugh when I thought nothing could. I love this show.
I'm playing this to my little girl, so that when she's older and comes across Trailer Park Boys, she'll feel odd nostalgia and deja-vu Update: my wife divorced me
It was only a few months ago that I discovered Trailer Park Boys. I'm from the UK and saw it pop up on Netflix and instead of ignoring it I pressed play and have never looked back. It is one of the most impressive comedy series I have ever watched and oddly heartwarming too. Truly a masterpiece.
"The thing with me is that I AM smart and I’m self smarted, basically, by myself, basically from nature and smoking drugs and doing different things I’ve self… like self learned myself. And that’s the whole difference I guess is that I don’t need the books or the schooling type things. I just get everything on my own and because of that I’m alive right now. I mean, if I had read more books or tried to go on to college and different things like that I’d be dead right now, because people say books and college are for to be make you smarter, but they can also be for to be make you dead, which is what could have happened to me. My brain doesn’t use enough oxygen because I don’t have the whole thing filled with different stuff and if it was full--it’s only part full--and that’s why I’m alive right now. The guards are giving me here, you know--"read this book, try to get smarter"--but I’m like, all right, I’ll pretend to read it but I’m not going to really read it 'cause my brain will be more full and if I have another heart attack I’m going to die..."
It puts a tear in my eye how much this show has evolved and how big it has gotten, it also breaks my heart seeing the actors old now, but thats the way she goes.
I love this tune. So many memories. I live in the UK and I feel like the only person thats ever heard of Trailer Park Boys. This show is so full of amazing actors and killer 1 liners.
I don't know if I'm alone when I say this, but I feel some type of odd nostalgia when I hear this song, and it's like I'm reminded of a time when everything was simpler, even though I'm watching the show for the first time through now. "Shit hawks. Big, dirty shit hawks ... They're coming, Bubbles. They're flying in low. They swooping down, shitting on people and dragging them off to the big shit nest. "
This theme always makes me think of my last summer living with my mom, for wierd reasons not related to the show. And of wasting time, haha. Nice extension.
I have a strong habbit of drinking vodka straight from the bottle. When i first started living through the first 6 or 7 seasons of this show, it felt surreal and euphoric. The first couple seconds of this song made and still makes me feel euphoric. I should mention I would do about half a fifth of vodka or more a night every single night and watch this show. Fuckin' way she goes.
Man college is probably the best time right 👍. I'm now in college age 22 and i just started watching TPB. What age were you in 2012-2014? I remember I was just a little 13 year old playing black ops 2. Crazy how it's already 10 years.
