I am a new player, started around the artist release. I plan to focus on one main which is my gunslinger that I plan to park at 1490 and I will be using the hyper express and story express to build out a 4-5 man roster that I will hone organically over time.
You are pretty spot on with what most people do with rosters. I myself got 6 mains with 1 main main(will try to push Artist to HM Akkan first after three weeks of normal) while 5 others will park propably at 1580. Right now i will have 3x 1580 for Kayangel, rest(1560) i will slowly push but gold income started being problem. I have also 4 alts what are parked at 1540 which i kinda regret making now. I still like them for what they are(combat related) but i lost motivation to play them since i dont really make gold on them. Yeah mats are cool(Pretty bad value compared to what i had to use to get them on 1540) but playing them started to being chore since the most gold income is chaos/guardian(Now u can get free chests from highest raid possible but man doing 1-2 HM Brel on ilvl can be pain). I was propably too excited about game and making more characters didnt feel like burden aswell time sink(i have over 5k hours in Lost Ark now). I also was bussing quite a lot cuz otherwise i wouldn't have gold to push them with honing but stopped doing that(my philosophy about bussing changed and i rather want them to ban it. I kinda thought about it and bussing is more negative than positive as in longevity of the game). I like to keep pushing my 6 mains since newest content is only what kinda matter with raids for me now. Like i dont see a point to keep playing characters raid wise if i wont really enjoy the new fresh air. Propably i kinda started getting burnout and all the jazz after a while(Apparently having so much characters does it for ya xD). So only cause i can get to new raids with so many characters i still want to give LA my free time. What helped me with burnout is also i have guild with discord(we are like 10~~ people) who i talk on daily basis on discord(really helps with mindless content like chaoses/guardians). Without that i would propably drop LA months ago tho kek. Nice video, didnt expect that yt pushing me somthing with lower end of viewerbase will be quality but im really positively impressed! Keep doin content and have my sub ^^.
Thanks, I appreciate it. Yeah, I'm running into gold issues of pushing my characters past 1560 because I just don't make enough gold because I'm pushing them. I do have two 1540s as well because they got replaced Artist and Slayer. I just got slayer to 1550 today which yeah, my poor gold and stored mats. They're gone. Which new characters itself really offsets everything because they can't get the materials naturally at a good enough pace if you want to push it. I've decided I need to take it slow with Aero when it comes out. As for bussing, yeah, it is by far the best way to get for sure gold. But I do most of my raiding with my static which we do to talk on discord and such during, and it's part of the fun of the game for me, so replacing it with bussing doesn't seem that appealing to me. It's just rough because a lot of the classes are fun.
@@Jukwol We are kinda in same boots it seems like kek. I had choice to make: A. Push Slayer cuz she is really fun to play and have big numbers. From my main 6 the least i have fun is my Shock Scrapper(really clunky, need gl/db + crit syn to compete with S classes like surge). So swap her out tho it kinda stinks cuz she is 1560. B. Hopium wait for Shock rework(not gonna go tai cuz swapping gems/books/stone/tripods, too much things to do and im way too lazy for it kek) since they were saying about male Scrapper. Since smilegate got backlash about it i will have to wait either for Aero to swap in or wait few months for rework kek. Did second one and i guess wiser option. Thanks to that i have any gold to just hone mains to 1580. Since u pushed Slayer u will have even more problems with honing than me now, lets hope for Sidereal drop or big accesory cuz its not lookin too good for both of us xd.
My biggest worry on pushing my alts past 1540 is gem gatekeeping. I’ve heard that around Akkan is when lvl 9 become the new level 7. Do u plan on getting lvl 9 dmg gems at least for ur main 6 or did u alrdy have them?
@@patrykm4194 Man, yt held this thread in review and I never noticed or replies don't pop up in the comments tab for manage idk. Yeah, pushing new releases is extremely hard, because all these resources I have unbound and boxes went to slayer and now my roster is suffering from it. And then I have to consider aeromancer which I planned to make too, but I think I have to just slow push that one and not go ham on it.
@@bleb7914 So I aim for level 7 starters, then I slowly push to level 9. So my entire roster 6 is all level 7s with level 9s sprinkle across the DPS characters because my priorities keep changing. Scouter was ez choice cause 2gem engraving. But I started putting a few on arcana before deciding that TTH needed them more still, so I put some on that and now the new ones I'm making are going to slayer because I think I might main swap down the line to it. I do have a set of level 7s on my now not roster PS Shadowhunter that I know I should take off and merge. But I haven't yet.
I pushed all main 6 to 1560 and then all the mats to my main to hit 1580 and then push up first alt. The reason is due to the next raid for lvl3 to slowly get those mats at normal and get Akkan cleared to get next title as gatekeeping was absolutely horrid for Brel recently.
i disagree on where you should be parking alts, best place to park alt is 1520, that way you dont get gatekeep on all farmable content, even then 1520 still kinda hard to join kakul sometimes due to people asking for 1540 so you can skip through mechs.
1490 Leads to 1520 over time with the upgrading to the new gear with minimal gold loss as in you don't have to hone or use fusion materials. That's my thought process on that. There is no real cure for the latter part, as that's just the community at this point. Pretty rough to even get in a 1370 argos if you're not 1460+. There's no real answer to these types of gatekeeping beyond just never stop honing.
Personally I think the best way to play lost ark is with 6 main characters while the rest are parked alts because it's pretty free to 1460. The only real issue I have come across is most of the classes that I ended up liking were spec builds like reaper/sorc that's just two examples and that's been really off putting because they take such huge investments as a newer player. At this point in the game I'm just a little lost in the overload of information because of this. Like I really wanna make a RS SF but would it be cost effective? Who gets the boot? Things like that are just very tedious things to figure out in this game because there's just such a vast amount of information that I'm unsure if I can do that or would be a hindrance to my roster. For perspective my current roster is Slayer(Punisher), Sorc(Ignitor), Zerker(Mayhem), SH(Demonic), Scrapper(Taijutsu), Artist. I made the last three because they were cost effective and still seemed like fun. I sorta dislike my scrapper cos of the animations and wanted to replace with RS SF but everyone I've talked too says my roster is too stacked for it and that while its stacked there's a couple zdps classes. As a return player it's just off putting because they say this and then judge acting like I should automatically know what to do.
Yeah, I'm in a similar boat of I just have a lot of characters I like and enjoy. There are off roster characters I like that I run chaos and stuff on rested for mats, but they still get shards/leaps for eventual pushing. But yeah, with Tier 3 it's rough to roster swap at about like brel hard level and beyond, because at that point gold really sinks. I would say push that SF with bound stuff on the side and see how you feel about it. Since it's off roster you can still get the free boxes and such to make progress. Give it a good feel and see how you like it. As far as damage output goes, we're still in the midst of revamps and such, so who knows what will happen moving forward. Scrapper hasn't gotten any work yet, but I'm sure it will get some changes eventually. Obviously nobody really won quite like Pinnacle LM up to top of the class. But steps in the right direction.
@@Jukwol I have changed the roster as follows and i'm pretty happy with it so far. Slayer/Artist/Arcana/Summoner(might change for deadeye?), Striker and Shadowhunter.
I think you should just check out every class you are interested in but dont hone above 1460 (atm) until youre sure its a class you enjoy. 1460 requires 4x3 and free hones which makes it very accessible + get to experience few raids and relic set content
I have a friend that is a gunslinger 1 trick. He plays 18, yes, 18 gunslingers. Busses on all of them as well. Still going strong. Guess it depends on the person and class.
Sounds like an Averse enjoyer. But yeah, I know a guy with a roster of scrappers. I even know someone with 6 bards. But I've lost a handful of onetricks and over time people I know have been diversifying their roster.
I'd say 1460min for alts, 1475 seems a waste unless you want easier Vykas but Vykas now is a completely shitshow (it's harder to get a non bus group @ few months ago ilvl then it is now) even 1540s failing HM and normal basically doesn't exist. Also nearly no-one outside of static is going to want your 1475 for clown, even with a title. 1490 is a great realistic sweet spot where your alt is future proofing if you ever get interest. 1520 is a waste unless you plan to 1540+, yeah you can get 1520 just with +13 brel but it shouldn't be a stopping goal. Pushing too many alts now as a PUG player is a horrible ROI, (and raids now for valtan/vykas/clown is a disaster) definitely work on a couple mains that also have all their quality stats on armor/weapon/accessories up. Caveat being if you have a solid and reliable static, if you do then push everything. The benefit not pushing too many "mains" is silver and shards will never be a roadblock. However, people tend to forget how much of a HUGE investment pushing weapon quality is, it truly can define if you want to push a char, it can easily cost 1-2mill, if you get luck well done but pushing 85+ with current low gold income is not pretty (remember quality upgrade existed when there was no raid cap and the cost hasn't been nerfed). I'd say 1-2 chars as far as possible 1540-1580, and then a couple @ 1490 to just try get lucky sales/gold income - given you solo and pug nearly everything and have to bus some brels initially.
So my reason for 1475 is mostly since it's just one hone across the board, and more relics/tripods off of CD. But yeah, a 1490 getting a pretty easy push to 1520 is nice because that does make pugging Vykas, Clown and 1-4 Brel easier, or even just 1-2 for the most return for time. So I don't think it's that bad of a stopping point for the sake of making your pugging experience easier since unless you're trying to do 5-6, you're always above min ilvl for your three raids. But yeah, for pug vykas groups. I've been running a 7th run outside of my static since I'm gearing up side characters, and the groups seem to be like on item level groups or 1500+ HW groups only, so I could see that being kind of messy overall. Side Note : I did just delete about 15k gold last night not getting a tap on my GS weapon on qualities. Quality tapping is a mistake.
Yo! I play 2 mains (1580 DPS and 1550 support) and 5 alts (all 1472) On my two main I do Valtan HM and Vykas HM each week, and I only run progression raids (Kayangel & Brelshaza) if I still need the materials otherwise I skip it On my alts , I don't do any raids (except the occasional Argos), I just run rested chaos dungeons and rested lopangs Was doing a lot more raids before, but I decided to calm down and focus on 2 characters instead, it feels so much enjoyable now :)
What was the reason to stop those alts at 1472? I would say if you got some spare materials, push them to 1490 now that it doesn't cost any gold so they can get more relics and start getting bracelets and the upper stones. And you can send them out on ships for marvelous leaps if you're not dispatching on your two mains every day.
@@Jukwol Stopped my alts at 1472 to still get gold from Argos (1000g per clear wow crazy xD) cause it's such an easy raid to clear and I still find it fun. I'll push to 1490 after the august update, cause they'll add a stronghold research that grants +2% to get to 1490.
Nice. Yeah I really like the 1490 parking spot tbh because they can get brel gears, get the up to date materials for shoveling to main and mass up marv leapstones from their chaos dungeon just in case you decide to push them later on.
