Hey Lawyer, I just watched one of your videos where you took apart a Mul T Lock. Very impressive work! I am sure you will be interested in one of my Security Elements pinning trays once they are out. I would like to share your video on my google + profile and hope that is alright with you man? I will also comment later! Glad you are watching, Adrian
Adrian Weber It's definitely ok to share any of my videos (though some of my early videos are better forgotten), and I'll thank you for doing so. :-) Please tell me about your pinning trays... similar to mine? I only made mine because there wasn't anything I liked on the market that worked well... so its great to hear of a new product coming out. Keep the great videos coming. I've been watching your channel since before the "LockPickingLawyer" existed... I always know that I will learn something when I click on your videos.
It is more complicated than yours and different I would say. Bill is helping me a little with ideas but we are still in the prototype phase. I have a private video online which shows the prototype. It will probably take up until next year to get a final version I am afraid. It takes lots of time and effort to do this, I mean developing your own first product. I am glad that you are with me for this long already and if you need locks from Germany just let me know. I do sell locks such as the Keso 4000 and others. Hopefully I can open my webshop soon. Thanks again man! Adrian
Well that answers my question as to whether or not you get squire products in Germany! So pleased to see you doing videos again. I saw this padlock online but never knew they were on the market yet. This really is a Man Lock! Don't drop it on your foot!
Hey man, yeah I am glad to be back believe me! Shipping to Germany is only around 12€ as far as I know. Easy going as you see. If you drop it on your foot I am sure you will have a problem haha :D
Great thing about this lock: you can lock your boat up when you are not using it and anchor your boat when you are. Seriously though, that's a HUGE and awesome lock! Thanks for showing us around it.
Hey Tech, I am sorry for the delay on that video an videos in general but the Cyber Security business keeps me very busy at the moment. I hope to get back to doing videos soon! Best wishes and thanks for the patience, Adrian
This is the new Squire SS80CS High Security CEN Grade 6+ Padlock. It is suitable and recommended for the Pragmasis Protector Series 19mm and 22mm chains. The padlock weighs 2.21kg and is the strongest padlock available on the worldwide market. It is meant for high security applications only so please be very careful with it!
Adrian Weber What A Beautiful Lock Adrian I would love to get one. 😃 Hope to speak to you soon Dude & Hope all is well with you. Also nice to see you back doing Video. Keep up the great work. Speak soon Dude. Nick.
hello I'm looking to replace the standard key to something more secure, what size cylinder do I need I can't find it anywhere online. I looked for the nw4 but there is many varieties of it a d don't know the size. thanks
Hey David, you should try to contact Steve from security for bikes (dot) com. He can offer the NW4 cylinder to you I am sure! Thanks and I hope that helps, Adrian
why do some squire boron shackles look shiny, and others are matt, or coated maybe? I have seen an ss80 that does not have a shiny mirror finish shackle, from Almax.
Hey Baxter, that is actually a good question... I have noticed the same. Personally I believe there is not much of a difference, some dealers may prefer to order them with a matt finish and some with a shiny. But that is just what I think!
Hey Bob, no I have no such video yet, but will put it on my list for later! I am sadly still very busy right now so it might take a while... Thanks, Adrian
I purchased this same lock. When I took the weather cover off, I noticed a half inch hole in the side. I am concerned that this hole may be a weakness in the lock. Could it be broken open using something like a Ramset? I look forward to your answer. Thank you.
Hey Amadeus, I have my lock in the lab but can check that tomorrow but I do not recall it having a hole. But half an inch are you sure? Can you maybe send me a picture? Best wishes, Adrian
Hey Amadeus, sorry for the late reply! The hole you mention is on the right side and blocked with the hardened shackle when the lock is locked. It is only unblocked when you unlock it and pull the shackle out. Then you can access the allen screw that holds the cover for the core in place. Man I have to do that maintenance video... If you still want to send those pictures go ahead! You can find my E-Mail address on the Imprint section of my website. Just google for "Security Elements" and you should be able to find it. Best wishes, Adrian
Sitting here and watching this video with wide open eyes and an open mouth. Awesome beast this padlock monster. Disassembling and discussion of the picking resistance must be the next topics soon, please :-)
Haha thanks Potti :D! Yeah it is on the top of my list. I am going to the Security fair in Essen this week and the week after that I plan on doing that video! Great to hear from you! Adrian
What a beast will be receiving mine soon with the almax 22mm chain. already have the 19mm almax and the 19mm protector with the ss65cs. and I thought they was big. nice video very well explained.
You’re correct to warn against dropping this beast (or the padlock🤐) but not for fear of damaging the lock...that's not what'll be broken: worry about w/e it lands on.
Hi, I am looking to buy the Protector 22mm chain. Can you please explain the difference between the SS80CS-R1 and SS80CS-NW4? I don't understand the difference and why the NW4 is more expensive. Kind regards.
Hey man and sorry for the late answer! It is very simple, the R1 is a "normal" pin cylinder with 6 pins and a restricted profile where as the NW4 is the one that you can see here in the video with multiple pins, sliders and other additional security features. It is more pick resistant and therefore also more secure. Best wishes, Adrian
Wouldn't this lock be recommended for a 16mm chain as well? If a 16mm chain (Almax or Pragmasis) cannot be bolt cropped then it has to be disc cut so if the Squire ss65 lock is used (which has a shackle dia of 12.7mm) then surely that is the point of attack? The shackle dia should be the same as the chain link dia.
As said before in many other videos the smaller Squire padlock leaves no room for attacks if you attach the chain in the right way but yes you could also use this padlock for the smaller chains of course. Best wishes, Adrian
That Squire is very safe but beware with investing a lot of money in chains and padlocks if any angle or die grinder can cut those in literally seconds. In my opinion several hardened sackle padlocks and cheaper but bigger chains are more deterrent than only one chain and one padlock.
Firstly welcome back.🎉👍👍 Second wow wow wow that is a toe breaker 😂😂😂😈😎 At £200, you have either got to be a hardcore collector of have some real valuable machines to be using this beast😯😯😯🤔 What ever it is attached to better be of equal or higher quality or there will be no security. Thanks for sharing 👍👍👍😘😘😎
There are still more expensive padlocks; this is just a little bit cheaper than an Abloy PL362. I would imagine one of these with an EVVA 3KS Plus cylinder will cost even more than a PL362.
Yes it is more secure as it is CEN Grade 6+ the only two padlocks that have this certification is the Squire SS80CS (from this video) and the Mul T Lock E18H which is no longer in production. Best wishes, Adrian
Haha hey mein Freund! Ja, Ich lebe noch und fahre derzeit viel mit der DB umher und bin wegen denen auch recht busy! I was able to source the WSW padlock version over here but I appreciate the help. If you ever need help finding any american stuff just let me know. Thanks again!
Nice video Adrian. I will have to get one of these for my little collection. I believe this is the strongest padlock on the market. The Abus 83CS/80 and even the Abloy PL362 are super-excellent and both claim to be the top padlock but are...I think...a very very close 2nd. Still both as hard and as tough as hell but the SS80CS just pips them at the post!👍💯
It is a ginourmous padlock and one of the hugest I have ever seen. However my personal favourite is the Mul-T Lock E18H. They both were the only padlocks with the CEN6+ rating. The Squire is a bit more massive whilst the Mul-T Lock E18H has the more secure locking cylinder and a thicker shackle which makes it look classic and just super cool!
Hey ziggy, I believe it is. If you would lose yours you could probably just contact Steve from Securityforbikes.com and I believe that he could get you a new one then! Best wishes, Adrian
That is a good idea. I have tried contacting Squire several times over the years and either left a message via the website and/or emailed them just with this question, but I can only assume they are arseholes as they never communicate back.
Hey ziggy, I sadly have to agree with you... Even though I reported a flaw to Squire once and in addition to that helped them in the process to fix it, they never got back to me. They didn't even say "thanks". Steve lives down the road and buys lots of their stuff and I believe that is the reason why he gets some support. I like their products but they are definitely not customer friendly. Just contact Steve, tell him I said "hi" and I am sure he will help you out! Best wishes, Adrian

jimster!!! Man I am so glad that you watched my video :D your PL362 video was the one that inspired me to start my own YT channel you know that right? Yes the Squire is definitely bigger but not as shiny haha :P I hope you are doing fine? Best wishes, Adrian
Hey Julian, bei mir ist alles fit :) Sehr viel IT Kleinkram zu erledigen.... aber die Geschäfte laufen gut und ich kann nicht klagen! Beste Grüße aus Niddatal, Adrian
Hey man thanks! It sure is I even bet it makes a good door stopper with that rubber bumber but I haven't tested it yet. I will do that soon and probably make a video of it ;)!
One massive problem now is this, here in London and the UK no one are using bolt croppers anymore, there is a mass trend now with everyone using handheld battery powered angle grinders which are cutting everything....Almax, pragmasis, Abloy, squire etc etc are all getting cut in seconds now that these scumbags are all using these handheld battery powered angle grinders, even steve from pragmasis was saying these battery powered angle grinders are a big problem now, all these massive chains and padlocks are useless now with this massive trend with all the crooks using angle grinders, no one uses croppers anymore...Trackers are now the way forward andthen not even the GPS ones as they get blocked to easy, you need a tracker with RF along with GPS/GPRS/GSM.
Hey gilera, I am really glad that someone finally brings up that difficult topic. Yes are you are right, portable angle grinders pose a big threat and are nearly not to come by. They are a problem nowadays as they are getting cheaper and more powerful. But they are not common practice in every country and they are very noisy and loud too. These days you can only buy time and scare thieves away as good as you can. This massive padlock is meant to secure construction site machines like excavators and such and not bikes. The only thing you can do is buy time and a decent lock will always buy you some time or even scare the thieve away. But yes trackers are probably the right solution for the future. If you can recommend any or made some good experience with the one or other tracker please let me know. I would love to talk about that topic and maybe even present a tracker in a video. So please go to my website and contact me through the contact form so that we can get in touch! Best wishes and I look forward hearing from you, Adrian
The partial solution to grinders will be in the constriction of chains and locks. Its not gonna be real easy but it will involve incorporating ceramic elements into the most likely areas of attack on locks and chains. There are some other methods of doing this that can help discourage the use of grinders or other types of heat inducing power tools. Theres a lock called the skunk lock that while not in and of itself exactly what im talking about, has the right idea. It uses little capsules embedded in the lock that contain a thiol or thiol like chemical similar to the chemical that skunks emit. When attacked, the capsules break and ostensibly the thief, overcome by the smell, stops the attack and leaves. This has the down side of being indiscriminate and persistent. It will emit when ever its damaged and it will get on the bike and user as well. So if you ever have to destructively remove your lock, it will be unpleasant. Now a better way to do this would be a very soft but tough outer layer on a shackle and lock body, and chain link such that croppers would not be able to cut it, protecting the shackle or link, but if attacked with a grinder, it would off gas noxious gas. Like tar paper in the layers of a safe, additionally, if the outer shroud could gum up the grinder disc or even bind and stop it, that would be ideal.

Na endlich Adrian, wo warst du denn?
Das ist eine Überraschung dass die Squire den NW4 Kern benutzt.
