    Great video! I've been a fan of CBT since 2009 when I built one for the center speaker in my home theater. My new theater will have three CBT's for the LCR, the L & R are 9'-8" tall with fourteen Dayton AMT Pro 4 Air Motion Transformers and fifty six Dayton Reference 5" drivers. The center will be truncated slightly (7' tall) with just 10 AMT's and forty 5" Reference drivers.
    I really like the idea of the, "J-array" I think that may be a perfect solution for my side surrounds.
    I don't know why CBT hasn't caught on more for home theater, it really is the perfect solution. There really needs to be more about these in forums etc. With DIY I don't, "over kill", I tend to, "over over kill" but for the non DIY people out there these JBL CBT's really are the perfect solution for your home theater. Forget all those conventional brands that are so popular, conventional speaker design simply cannot compete with CBT.

      Hi Sir, I have read about your setup many times with great interest. So excited to hear that you have a new home theatre in progress! Do you have more details of the new build and designs?

      @@wechnivag I haven't updated my web site in a long time so all I have is what I've posted here on UA-cam. Hopefully one of these days I'll get around to updating the web site.

    Good, informational video. I have had some great results with CBT100 based systems that I have installed and/or tuned in. Thanks!

    How does this technology compare and differ from the Bose column array?

    • @soundpro342
      @soundpro342  2 роки тому

      I'm not privy to the details of the Bose design, but I wouldn't be surprised if it used some of the same principles. I don't think Don Keele was involved with the Bose design, but they too have very smart engineers.

    Amazing video, could you use this in a normal 7.1 situation with a TV. So the centre channel would have to be horizontal, if so which CBT would you recommend???

    • @soundpro342
      @soundpro342  2 роки тому +1

      Leon, You could use CBT arrays for 7.1, but if you put one horizontal as a center loudspeaker, you will get a very narrow horizontal coverage from it. I would not recommend that.

      @@soundpro342 thank you so much, a horizontal center channel is my only option. Most MTM center channel have problems anyway. I don't see how it would be worse than them?? Obviously you are the expert.

      @@leonnoel4309 Leon, a CBT50 or CBT100, horizontal as center channel, will work brilliantly, provided the listeners are seated within the coverage pattern of the center channel. You will want to set the wide/narrow coverage switch to Wide, and the music/speech switch to Music. Enjoy!

      Peter, my article was about passive CBT arrays, not active. Sorry, I cannot answer your question without more specifics about your active arrays.
