One of the best songs from Woodstock & sadly not retained on the director's cut of Woodstock on DVD. a Criminal offense in my book. Hope they release the movie in it's original form on DVD some day. But at least it's on the ST & of course here. Thanks 4 That!
This line up was the shit! Rod Hicks bass, Buzzy gtr, Ted Harris keys, Phillip Wilson dms, Dinwiddie tenor, Sanborn alto, Trevor Lawrence bari, Keith Johnson and Steve Madeo tpt.
They actually had 2 in the '90s ('94 and '99). Both were nothing more than nostalgia cash grabs, and yeah, they were both epic fails. You're absolutely correct in that the original is the only one that matters.
+gb032645 You nailed it right on the head. I always called the original Woodstock a miracle that came out of a disaster. What I mean by that is everything that could have gone wrong did in terms of no water, food or lack of sanitary facilities. However, the two "Woodstocks" that happened in the 90's were nothing more than money grabs and it culminated with Woodstock 99, which was the total antithesis of the original due to the high prices for tickets, food and especially water. No wonder they had a major riot after it ended.
I love Buzz's guitar playing. His gentle chords at the ending are nothing short of poetic. Beautiful ending. Hard to believe he was only 18 at the time. Time passes far too quickly. Probably 2/3rd's of the people at that festival are no longer with us.
This was actually the 4th day, Monday morning the 18th, they started around 6 a.m., then Sha Na Na and then Jimi Hendrix' band the Gypsy Sun & Rainbows...
It was probably a combination of Fender amp reverb tanks shaking all at once - that is thanks to the feet stamping and marching on stage. Because they were recording this live and there were [assumedly] never any studio patch-up's for the band, what you got is what you got. You kind of wonder if they could digitally remove that these days. I'm fine with it either way!
yea took me a while to realize yr the same cat whom Ive conversed with about Janis for a while . Youre the same fella hahah! But- its cool. Happy n stuff !!! ♥
hahah!! Hi'ya there dearie! hahah! xxx I hope you are happy n stuff. Good ot hear from cool folks. Sub and add and whatnot lets keep our comrades together shall we? hahah LOVE is he word of the day my friend. ~ "jen"
No, it's Howard "Buzz" Feiten on lead guitar. Bloomfield had left a couple of years before to form The Electric Flag. David Sanborn is in the horn section here - yep, that's right, David Sanborn played Woodstock.
I had the Woodstock soundtrack back in 1970 when I was 11. I just bought the remastered cd recently and had forgotten how great some of this stuff is. I’ve had the Hendrix set from Woodstock for years and years. But this is just great.
URGENT, thousands of people are in anxiety to be able to one day watch video LOVE MARCH!
One of my favorite songs from the Woodstock soundtrack....
One of my favorite songs from those days....this is what it was about ...great song...something we need now...we need the Hippies back..;) thank you.
I love this wacky song!

Howard Buzz's guitar solo is absolutely brilliant
No pedal, just fender amp. Could you tell me what model this fender amp was?
@@maupric I think he was playing through a super reverb (45-50 watts, 4-10" speakers). These are great amps for the blues
He was only 18 at the time to boot!
STONED MUCH. ?
@@storeymark I thought he was 20?

woodstock 69' good music, peace and love ,blues music
The Only Woodstock That Will Ever Mean Anything To This Day. They Had One In The 90's But Failed.
It worked because it wasn't meant to be what it was. One can not catch the same lightning bolt twice.
AMEN
The People made it happen.

They traveled to Wisconsin the following Summer....saw them as the sun rose on a Sunday morning...
Cool!
Hey Dinwiddie..!
You gotta love it!
I always loved this...I always imagined the tripped out heads marching along. I was one in spirit
Pleasant memories this song brought back when I was living in Panama.
Rest in Peace Phillip Wilson.
and Dinwiddie, too
This was actually the 4th day, Monday morning the 18th, they started around 6 a.m., then Sha Na Na and then Jimi Hendrix' band the Gypsy Sun & Rainbows...

blues in woodstock 1969
great jam
Give it to that guitar solo. Is that one of the best or what?
And it's a picture of Santana performing at Woodstock, NOT PBBB!!!
Yes, that's Carlos Santana at the left with the guitar, and Michael Shrieve on the drums.
classic ;)
I prefer the studio version.
Somebody was really beating the hell out of the reverb tank during this song. Anyone know the story behind it? I've always wondered.
Me too. Before I knew what it was, I thought it was guywires or something related to the stage setup.

Somebody is hitting it with a drumstick!😂 different times!😂
They may have been trying to make it sound like a battlefield they were marching through.
WHERE´S MUSIC VIDEO ?
trippin' performance
#ugottalisten2b4udie
Good while no jealousy and war
Aim my sad eyes into the sun
I think they ran out of film at this point...
yea took me a while to realize yr the same cat whom Ive conversed with about Janis for a while . Youre the same fella hahah! But- its cool. Happy n stuff !!! ♥
They sound a bit high
"...get happy 'n' stuff.."
SSOOOO....if a video is going to consist of ONE photo, wouldnt it be a better idea to use a photo of the band who's being represented???
relax dude
well, then I gues you should ignore the comments too!
hahah!! Hi'ya there dearie! hahah! xxx I hope you are happy n stuff. Good ot hear from cool folks. Sub and add and whatnot lets keep our comrades together shall we? hahah LOVE is he word of the day my friend. ~

You know I know right now............I don't believe you know.
Mike Bloomfield on the Strat, right ?
No, it's Howard "Buzz" Feiten on lead guitar. Bloomfield had left a couple of years before to form The Electric Flag. David Sanborn is in the horn section here - yep, that's right, David Sanborn played Woodstock.
Buzzy playing a Les Paul here. His work often gets overshadowed by the Superstars of that era. Having a hell of a health battle right now, bless him.
I always thought it was Bloomfield. The guitar break in the middle is just amazing.

This is a terrific song. The video needs help! (Only 1 picture?)
0:36 Just after "Love March", don't we hear a Quebecois talking ?
