Hey Denis, thanks for pointing me here. I got WSJTX to talk to my Baofeng properly after I removed the whip antenna and drove a dummy load. The RF interference was the culprit. I did notice that it didn't work after I jostled it some but when I reseated the microphone plug, it worked fine. I've seen this before with Baofeng microphones that don't work sometimes with Baofeng radios due to the positioning of the 2 plugs in the overmolded connector. If both plugs are not fully inserted, the microphone will not work, usually PTT failure. One batch of microphones I bought about 6 years ago would not work at all with my radios while other microphones did. After cutting one apart and measuring the mechanical dimensions, I found the 2.5mm plug could not be fully plugged in. Apparently they fixed subsequent models because they DO work now. Being mechanical, it is a very subtle failure and hard to spot. 73 -- NW7T
