Hope you can enlighten me on diesels not being admitted to CA sometime in the future. It will give me great pleasure letting them know about 50yrs. ago.. Australians are forever grateful to those Americans who lost their lives in the Pacific all those years ago. In the small town where I live they have placed an anchor in the park in honour of those men who went to Gradual Canal not to return. That anchor came all the way from Williamsburg VA. My grandfather was a Yankee. Best wishes , good luck, and above all, good health.
Not your fault, your out there making a living don't beat yourself up over it. Trucking has it's costs and you can't always be there through the hard times. I have two daughters of my own. Hopes and prayers for you and your family.
WOW...I’m a 61 year-old female who has never heard another human being call their mother ‘mommy’...my MOMMY died Christmas eve 2020...I miss her so very much. Talk to her every day. Nobody ever made fun of me for calling her mommy, but especially growing up, when all my friends called their mother ‘mom’, I could sense their thoughts about me. NEVER have I ever called her anything other than MOMMY. GOOD ON YOU. BTW, you were recommended to me by my DADDY (81 year-old Moon/Smith’s Transfer/Carolina/ABF retiree- they were divorced when I was 13), a lifelong trucker, who appreciates your channel.
If he tests negative then take him with you. My Dad took me out on the road at least 3 times a year since I was 3 yrs old. Best ever memories ever in his old Mack cab over.
You were 100% correct to go home. God and Family is all that matters in this world. Everything else is secondary. And I am sure they are glad you are back. Enjoy being home. We'll seeya next time.
I’m not a truck driver, but I’m an airline pilot so I’m always away from home too. 3 kids. I’d be loosing my mind if I had all that going on at home. Good luck to you and your family.
Our prayers are with you and your family. YOU MADE THE RIGHT DECISION. Hang in there and be proud. Yeah, those wheels gotta roll, but sometimes you gotta follow your ❤️, and your heart is telling you to go home. Godspeed on their recovery and you staying safe.
You do what you have to do, don’t let anything get between you and your family. Don’t beat yourself up to much,be with your family and I will keep all of you in my prayers.
You shouldn't second guess your decision. You have to do what your heart leads you to do. My husband drove truck for over 40 yrs and I know It's not really safe for you to be driving distracted, worring about your family. Be safe...you are continuously in our thoughts and prayers.
Man that's a tuff one. But I can tell you one thing. I can tell you already know. When it comes to that little voice in your heart, especially when it's tugging on you hard, you don't ignore it. Ever. Praying for your family and you.
Hi Mr. Schmidt, sorry to hear tater tot and warden are still sick but great to hear they're getting stronger. Don't be so hard on yourself i know as parents we second guess ourselves but you made the right decision at the time. Hopefully lil bud will test negative and both of you gentlemen will make some memories together trucking. I'll continue praying for you all god bless stay safe and stay home 😊.
Complete respect for you, this is the first time I've seen your post. I'm a 4th generation trucker myself. My daughter is a RN nurse and has been working on the COVID patients since the beginning, and my brother is the Director of the Health Department over 8 counties. They have been working 1st hand day in and day out. I would like to thank you for making your family 1st and taking this virus seriously, and posting this video.
Hi Mr. Schmidt don´t feel ashamed you must be with your family, because we know that they are the most important part of you life, we are going to be praying for your family and for you. God bless you ever, best wishes from Mx.
From one trucker to another! Prayers to you and your family brother! Do not feel ashamed for expressing your feelings. I wish more of us in this profession could follow your lead and be open. You are making the absolute best decision. Family means everything. I would be doing the exact same thing. Once again prayers to you and your family! Stay safe brother!
Prayers for you and your family. I understand going home to the family. Being out here on the road and away from family takes a toll on us. Don’t beat yourself up over little bud. Y’all made the best decision at the time for him. Remember GOD IS GREAT and He is in control.
Thoughts and prayers for your family and yourself! Family first no matter what!! Keep your head up and keep pushing! The big man upstairs has your back always!! God speed!!
God speed to ya bro. Hope the family gets better soon. With nearly 20 years in the service I and my family have missed amot, but family is always first. If u feel u are needed at home and cannot focus on work for the worries of home then bro I most certainly recommend that u need to go home. It is a risk but it is yours and ur families to measure. Good luck with their recovery.
I just came across this two-year-old video. Hindsight? Your thoughts? Two years ago was a soul-searching experience for every one of us. I'm glad, therefore, that you chose the way you did. So much guilt, and subservience to an unknown with respect to a virus infection (called a pandemic). Each of us had to make decisions. Making family decisions were difficult but we made them. I think we all were confronted with what was important. All I can say is this is one hell of a good video. It's an inspiration for me. I built many/most of the Illinois PCS cell sites in Iowa and was based in DesMoines for 9 months to I know the roads you were on well.
All will be ok, it will pass and it will be business as usual at the Schmidt home. On a random note, your beard looks awesome lol. I love the bond opie has with you too man. I miss my shepard everyday and its been 15 years since we lost her. And as always your rig looks and sounds awesome.
Hope your family is ok. Don't worry it will all work out. Nothing like seeing your family when you come off the road it takes all the stress away.Stay safe
Hey brother, I live in Southeast Iowa. Never apologize for what you say or how you feel. This is the life of a truck driver and you're not complaining, you're telling us how you are feeling and we all have to do that regardless if it's praying, talking to mommy (lol) (I thought I was the only one who still calls his mom mommy). Me and my family will be praying for you all with a speedy recovery. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I’m in the same boat. Kids are all healthy, but school is on partial days and my daughters daycare is shutdown for 14 days. My wife is stuck at home with them, she has to use her sick days from work to take care of them. It’s a helpless feeling, I feel it to. I’m taking all next week off to help relieve her. Family first, the big road can wait. Take care!
Mr. Schmidt, was just rolling across the 40 on my way up to Farmington NM. and was listening to your video. I think it's awesome how real and transparent you are. As to the going home dilemma, I think it's best to listen to ones gut, however logic says that the bill collector unfortunately doesn't care and is still going to want his money no matter who's sick, just a thought. I hope it all works out, you seem to be a really nice guy and a great dad. By the way, love the channel. My apologies for being long winded. Best Wishes!
God bless you and your family. I hope little bud is doing well and feeling better. I myself drive truck and don't blame you one bit for going home to your family. I would have done the same. Stay safe, happy, and healthy my friend.
Family first always!! Your family will be just fine, and your a good man for always putting them first. This to shall pass. Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless.
Hi Kurt oppy loves his maccs. In Queensland Australia maccs put in a drive throw for trucks. I never used it but it was doing great business last time I was up there. As for your son I do understand what your going through. I hope all is ok for you and family. Take care of cos we care
Blessings & Prayers to your family 🙏 it's not your fault...my grand daughter was in the hospital auto accident last year and couldn't work but 2 months it's life and nobody fault life is in god hands... Happy Trails
Hi, Kurt my friend, You do what your heart tells you to do. Your family is very important and should come first. It is no good being on the road and stressing yourself out over your family being sick at home. If you take a few days off and are by your families side then you will feel a lot better. Remember you are a good father to your children, you go to all their events, you spend weekends all together. So you are the perfect working dad to them. My dad was a truck driver and he was away a lot from the family so I know what it is like. You take care and every thing will be ok in the end. We are thinking of you here in Dublin, Ireland. Thank you for your great videos. Can't wait to see the next one. Eric

I wishing you all the very Best, I wish there was more I could say or do for you all, but I'm at a loss for words to describe how I feel. I don't know what else to say except get better soon, as for going home, you have to do what you think is right for you and your family, I'm sure they will be glad to have you home with them. The virus in my state is out of control. Multiple people I know have gotten it or have it. Be safe but also do what's best for you and your family. Also never apologize for doing what's best for you and your family. Wishing you and your family the best from Wisconsin.
Mr Schmidt keep your head up it will all work out. Don’t blame yourself the way things are going we all will probably get it. As for me I won’t be a lucky one at 51 and not so healthy. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. And try not to worry.
Love and prayers your way. Hindsight is always so clear, but you just never know. 2020 is crazy. Your son could've gotten sick while riding with you, running @ 79k lbs, 70 miles outside of Sioux City. Please take care and keep Opie happy.
As a over the road driver for 25 plus years I can relate with the mental anguish. It will wear you down. I agree with your decision to be home. Without family you have no anchor. I also outlived two four legged passengers who traveled along with me. Your connection to him is one reason I am a subscriber. Be safe. Cheers
I think you are doing the right thing , family first and business second. You shouldn´t blame yourself because you are trying to do the right thing. You are a good man and I wish you and your family all the best. Take care .
Well thank you for a brilliant video just like to say don't worry about what you talk about we are family we are your UA-cam Family I hope your real family is away ok and you made the right decision but make sure you keep in touch with us all take care and look after yourself in the UK
You got me men... make me cry, I so hard to be away from family in this business, sometimes I wanna quit too but after a couple hours and looking to the future I just can’t, but if you think that is the best for you and your family just do it
You look the family first and all thing will be praying for all of you. I'm in kitchener Ontario Canada. Park the truck just with the family. God will look after you. 😇😇😇
Don’t blame yourself. You are doing the best that you can out there on the road. It’s good to spend a few days and make sure your family is doing well. Just remember that it’s ok to head back to work when the time is right too. Keep moving forward and know that all of the decisions you have made and will make are the right ones.
As a father of 2 kids myself. Man you have no reason to blame yourself. But on another go home be with them. Family is ALWAYS #1 ALWAYS. Prayers to your family and get well fast.
You do have a good friend to ask for advice; you may not get the answer you wan but you will get the answer you need. All you have to do is ask! my dogs liked the pickles on a cheese burger. they all liked keeping things simple!!!
I'm new to your channel and I've literally binged watched all your old video's on my 34 hr reset. I love the content man and your truck is gorgeous. Now I would like to wish your wife and daughter a full recovery from the virus. And I hope your son understands all the sh×t that comes with it. Stay safe man
Wow that a lot of Schmidt in a small time, are you okay lol. Thank you for watching and catching up in a hurry. And thank you for well wishes of the rug rats much appreciated.
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 yes sir, it was a lot to take in but you don't drag out your video's with boring and useless content. It was cool for me to sit down and feel like I'm a part of your family man. Pls stay safe out there brother and I'll see you on the next video or perhaps a flying j one day
Blessings, As a retired truck driver, you need to go home for you peace of mind. You don't need to be out there worrying. No regret. Follow how you feel. The journey of a truck driver is that a journey. The thing is you can always go back to driving if need be. Nice to see a long nose. Take the time you need. Just keep your cdl's up incase you need it. I'm retired almost a year now but still keeping up with my cdl's. Take a break try something different. Your family loves you where ever you are. Many Blessings for you and your family
This is some strange year: UNDERSTATEMENT! You can’t go wrong with caring about your family enough to do what it takes, especially during this weird year! Hope all turns out well. We just tested positive yesterday for it! What a shame! Praying for you and your family all the way from Ohio! 😎
@@truckingwithschmidt7120 🇺🇸Thanks! Hope that you guys do well and that you stay healthy. Pray that you have favor in all your trucking decisions as well. 😎
First, I am a new subscriber, living in Norway. I do not work as a truck driver, but have a driver's license for a semi-truck and trailer. I have become a big fan of your videos, and your pleasant voice. It was sad to hear that your family got covid 19. I really felt your anxiety about what might happen, and I think it was a good decision to drive home. We all have to keep our distance, but at the same time, covid brings us together. Take care of yourself and your family.
I just discovered your channel, I have seen a couple of your videos. You seem like a good dude, and I believe going home was the right choice. Being with your family at time like this is exactly where I would want to be if I was in your position. Prayers for you and your family.
Once a Trucker ALWAYS a Trucker ! Never Ever apologize for going home. Family is the MOST important thing there is. If you want you can always go back on the road. I have a friend who runs coast to coast he has three little ones and has missed out on Sooooooo Much. He tells me that's what he does sorry but I can't do that. You are doing what is right for you. I will keep you and your family in my prayers 🙏
I've been a company driver since 2005 when I got out of the military, I've always dreamed of having my own truck, after following you and been inspired by you I've finally made the leap of faith and bought my own truck, it's a 2005 kenworth t600, it's not my dream w900l but it's a start, keep up what your doing and God bless you.
I like the 660 also, I've driven all ok the Kenworth models from 660 and down , I just felt the most comfortable in the w900l even though it's a little harder to get into some spots, but they are all beautiful trucks, I hope you and your family are doing well and stay safe where ever you are brother, best wishes from here in lucasville, ohio.
You made the right call to go home, family first. I remember as a kid before cell phones dad would call home every few days when he was on the road to check up on us. There was nothing better than when you see that truck pulling up to the house after a long haul. I will never forget my grandfather and my dad both telling me that they would kick me in the ass if I ever drive a truck, well Apple didn't fall from the tree. Take care of yourself and your family, you did the right thing!
Kurt, you are very smart man and you decision is always on point, Family is always the most precious thing to have in life, please have a good and safe day.
1st time watching and i completely understand u wanting to be home thats what a man does be ther when things arent good at home tons of respect for u bro.. and people say this isnt real take care of your family be safe my friend

Prayers for you and your family driver. Prayers to you and your family. I personally do thing going home would be a good idea only because of the down time possibilities to even getting you sick as well at least one provider to keep the house going. Prayers to you and your family that he Keeps you all safe and blessed. And don’t let the mind beat you. 😔💪👍👌🙏
You made the right decision, it’s the profession we chose and it’s quite hard on the family. It’s exactly why me my wife and daughter sold our house and live on the road currently. Wouldn’t change it for nothing. We all have to make our decisions and what our hearts tells us. You and your family will be fine brother, stay safe!

Love and prayers your way. Hindsight is always so clear, but you just never know. 2020 is crazy. Your son could've gotten sick while riding with you, running @ 79k lbs, 70 miles outside of Sioux City. Please take care and keep Opie happy.
Thank you and stay safe in the great state of iowa.
As a over the road driver for 25 plus years I can relate with the mental anguish. It will wear you down. I agree with your decision to be home. Without family you have no anchor. I also outlived two four legged passengers who traveled along with me. Your connection to him is one reason I am a subscriber. Be safe. Cheers
Thank you
Hope you and the family are doing well, prayers sent 🙏
I think you are doing the right thing , family first and business second. You shouldn´t blame yourself because you are trying to do the right thing. You are a good man and I wish you and your family all the best. Take care .

You got me men... make me cry, I so hard to be away from family in this business, sometimes I wanna quit too but after a couple hours and looking to the future I just can’t, but if you think that is the best for you and your family just do it
It definitely gets tough at times
Be safe Kurt and prayers for the family...GOD BLESS ALL!
Your family is always first. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Family First. Praying for you and your family.

Thank you for joining up. And for the thoughts. Paige still can't smell but they are up to par pretty much.
Amazing as always thanks God bless you all
I will pray for you and your family.
Thank you

I just discovered your channel, I have seen a couple of your videos. You seem like a good dude, and I believe going home was the right choice. Being with your family at time like this is exactly where I would want to be if I was in your position. Prayers for you and your family.
Thank you and thank you for joining the group.
Awsome to hear. The 600 is a awsome truck. The 660 will probably be my next truck if I ever sell this one.
Don't blame yourself my friend! Do what your heart tells you to do and take care of your family. Be safe sir!
Prayers to you and your family! Your a good man taking care of your family!
As a driver there's no better feeling then seeing the kids come out the door to greet us truckers when we pull up.
Kurt, you are very smart man and you decision is always on point, Family is always the most precious thing to have in life, please have a good and safe day.
Thank you

You have made the right choice in my opinion, please keep us posted.
You are an awesome man and a great truck driver family will be kept in my prayers and I don't think you make a bad decision when you put Family First
Thank you
