We were there in 1990. There was hardly anything there. No ATM and you had to book a phone call. To walk from Ban Khai to Rin Beach and not walk pass anyone. Yep you could only walk on the beach as there were no roads. Paradise

@@Olivierantain I wish you'd been there 20 years ago when I was in Thong Nai Pan - it was so different back then: no swimming pools, ATMs, 711s, rope swings, hell there wasn't even electricity half the time! So sad to see how it has been ruined with all those big resorts and KIDS! It was just stoned backpackers and the odd family back then...great days. 70bt to the pound then too, nearly double todays rate.
@@MrSimonj1970 I was there in 1990 .... boat in to get there from Samui... huts ... wild wild wild full moon party (i think around 300 people) and took about a week to leave afterwards... every day would sit on the beach with friends watching our boat go ... LOL ... same for Samui back then ... one road ... lots of huts to rent .. very few tourists .... awesome.... loved it

looks a lot different now, tong nai pan and had rin about 95% closed, only tongsala and seathanu have farangs, mostly expats and yoga long stay people. i used to hate had rin, but now no annoying backpackers, i can go for a walk on the beach a couple of times a week and large leo in tommy bar for 90 baht.

Surprising how many foreigners are still there because thailand is a locked country and not allowing tourists but your koh lipe and and this video still shows all people on because foreigners. Of course not many compared to normal.but still a few.. wonder how they go there.. maybe they live in thailand?
