I'm glad I watched this video especially because of 12:00 - 12:20. I always thought, unless a game has native support for Stream Deck, or someone creates a Stream Deck plugin for that game, that a Stream Deck's button couldn't be live and "connected" to the game. So you'd have instances, say, where the Stream Deck's button would show the headlights "off" icon when it should really be showing the headlights "on" icon (and vice-versa) so you'd have to always make sure these types of buttons (ones that change depending on the what's actually happening in-game) would have to always be manually reset and set to the correct icon-version by us, the user, before heading on track since there's no actual communication or "telemetry" between the game and Stream Deck. It seems, according to what you explained at 12:00-12:20, that SimHub actually resolves this lack of "game-to-Stream-Deck-communication" by acting as a sort of middle-man between the 2. If so, does it work with any of the big games? For example, can I use it for a lights on/off button with something like rFactor 1?
Thanks for this. I’m very new to all of this. Ten years playing on easy peasy Gran Turismo, but now built and on rig, built a PC and am moving into this new world. Bought the Stream Deck XL last night and ordered the mount I liked from EU: have to spend lots of time to figure this out now.
Please please please give us a tutorial. It’s a lot to take in and there aren’t any in depth set up vids for sim racing. Mainly just overviews. Would LOVE a walk thru, maybe even by game. Thanks for the vid though, gets me in the right direction
Hey there. Thanks for this walk though. I know it has been a while since you have made this video. But would you mind please posting a follow up walking through a few examples of how to actually create buttons. I would be mostly interested in iRacing but also ACC. I have basic functions added, but I do not know how to create things like a lap counter, session timer, or any other dynamic icons that show you information passed from the sim and/or simhub.
Yeah, I ended up getting a discreet audiocard (soundblaster) just to finally rid myself of this frustration. Not sure I'd suggest it as a true solution, but at least I can put it in whatever PC's I get in the future, if needed!
I'm trying to get my Simhub overlays on Iracing; I made the dashboard overlay; but not sure how to make a button on teh streamdeck to make it work? Any help?

Nicely done! I'll try some of these tomorrow when my strem deck arrives 😊
+1 sub. Ty for the detailed walkthrough and sharing some links. This will surely help me with my stream deck setup. 👍

Would love a video on how you setup the simhub buttons
@tagsxa is there any kind of manual how to play videos on the buttons themselves... I want to do That myself 😉
Where did you get that screen saver from.
Where did you get the house and arrows button from.
How did you setup the path for the hw button.
How did you setup flashing button to show when it is on.
I have the same sound issue, and I've had it for 2 years now. It's so annoying, i can't fix it either, so i feel your pain.
