  • In this episode of Lauren of All Trades... Lauren tours Havana Cabana cabin 5238 on the Carnival Horizon.
We absolutely loved staying in this cabin and the access to the Havana outside area. It's a bit pricey, but worth it if you have the vacation budget for it. I recommend the interior cabins less because you have to go through the Havana Bar to get to the outside area.
Havana Cabana cabins are a Balcony category that have "lanai" style balconies - they don't overlook the ocean directly, but walk out onto the sundeck, are deeper than standard balconies, and connect to the Havana outside area.
Havana cabin areas and cabin interiors have Cuban inspired decor and branded towels. Silicone wristbands are provided to show your access to the outside area.
Staying in a Havana cabin gives guests 12+ years old exclusive access to the outside Havana area - loungers, chairs, pool, and bar. (Havana Outside video tour: • Havana Private Outside... )

Did you say if you book on starboard there is a door that leads straight out to the Havana area without walking through the bar? I am considering booking an extended aft havana veranda thats on starboard (right side) or a cabana but like more privacy and yet the cabana is easier to get to the Jacuzzis.

If you're in a Cabana, you don't have to go through the bar at all on either side; you can go thought your balcony and out the gate to the jacuzzis - but you have to leave your door unlocked.
The aft facing balconies don't have direct access to outside.
The port-side cabins on deck 5 have an entrance from the hallway to the back of the bar area (right by where the bar is) so you don't have to walk through the entire bar to get outside. This is appealing for those in interior cabins or if you don't feel comfortable leaving your balcony door unlocked. The deck 5 cabins on the right/starboard side don't have similar access from inside.
Did you already watch this video? I detailed all of this and showed what I was talking about :) ua-cam.com/video/ZtpSW9IOQ9E/v-deo.htmlsi=njLwYrPpDkxNs41W

What happened to the privacy wall that used to be in-between the couch and bed?
