Loved watching Mike with the bottle babies. They are spoiled but they are super sweet.
You are such an informed and sympathetic character, Mike. Being an animal on your ranch can't be half bad. And you are absolutely right, most animals are a person of their own and deserve recognition. But also, the way you balance being empathetic and rational at the same time is very admirable. Thanks for sharing your ranch life 🖖
Looks like Brutus could make a good 4-H steer for someone. He likes to follow people and would do great. 😂❤
He probably would have been a good candidate for 4-H.
Kari knew what she was doing when she named Brutus. He’s so much bigger than the girls. Sad to see them go out with the herd but I know they have a wonderful life ahead.
I have to agree with ya Melissa. She knew he was gonna be a big one!
I’m laughing at Brutus….he has a mind of his own! This was fun watching the bottle fed calves. Now, they will learn how to be cows. Yep, they do have personalities. They do have a purpose, as you said. I really enjoy what you do….without you, and others like you, make it possible for us to enjoy great beef, on our plates. Thank you! Bev in Maine
Well said! I'm so happy we are now able to purchase the very beef and pork that we watch from birth onward. Doesn't get better than that.
It's awesome the bottle calves get to move out to the big herd
Yes, it was their next step in growing up Terresia.
Love how you tell him you ain't gonna hurt him but you are taking you man hood
He didnt know what was happening or care. Thanks for watching.
@@OurWyomingLife Mike....you are a fantastic rancher. You Love your animals and they Love you!! God Bless You and everyone at OWL! ❤️🙏 🐄 🐃
Aw, Now you made me tear up. That’s wonderful. You’ve treated them with care and love. They reciprocate the love
Aww They have memories.
I’ve watched hundreds of these OWL videos , and rewatched some of my favorites numerous times. This video is the premiere video of all OWL videos. I felt the video started slow and wasn’t going anywhere. To Mike’s credit, he did a superb job of videoing and editing, which turned the video into a suspenseful episode. Mike threw in a few subtle teases, that kept me wanting more. The video turned into an totally emotional event. For us animal lovers, I love Golden Retrievers, the video turned into a heart tugging event. Nothing like nurturing an animal, and then having to release the animal into its natural environment.
One of your lines was "100 yards may as well be 100 miles when moving bottle calves". You have some pretty good quotes. 😂
Mike, Don't forget your oil Change !🔧⚙️🚘
Will do. Its on the list of things to do.
Those calves seem to be adjusting to the changes, surroundings. Timing is everything. Plus, you don't have to make those bottles every day now... thanks Mike!
Thats the part I wont miss. Making bottles! It really isnt that bad though.
Yes indeed, a bittersweet day. Graduation day for another year's bottle calves. I know they will continue to grow and learn how to be a real cow. It's been a wonderful story watching them from birth until today. Thanks for sharing all you do. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for watching jajablonsky. Have a good weekend!
Was fun watching them get to this stage if there lives. They looks healthy. Time to explore. Becomes a bond to each one of them. Letting them out and shedding a little tear at the same time. Thanks Mike
Thanks Gene.
Awe, we are going to miss seeing the bottle babies too. 😢 you will need to give us at least a weekly peek.
What is so great is how you do not get frustrated trying to move the bottle calves. You work with them and talk to them and kindly move them. Very proud of you and you can tell you love all of your animals. Thanks for sharing this with us😅!!!!
I know it is not funny but Brutus had me chuckling😊
Brutus was sleepy. He didn't even realize his nuts were no more.
I can see why you love the Bottle Calves...they are adorable & each has their own personality. Brutus really is spoiled and stubborn as a "Bull"...lol By the way those glasses help protect your eyes, dont understand anyone questioning you wearing them. Thanks for the video Mike.
You'd be surprised at some questions Ive received over the years. Thanks for watching
@@OurWyomingLife Mike, I have sensitive eyes, and light just kills me, too. Keep those glasses on, sweetie; you need them.
@@conservativevicki7612 I second that! Any eye doctor or eye specialist will tell you..."Wear sunglasses.... all year round! It's good for your eyes 👀 they need all the protection they can get!" After my cataract surgeries, I HAVE to wear sunglasses! 😎
@@OurWyomingLife Wear your sunglasses Mike! The sun will do damage to your eyes just like your skin! 😎 I have always worn sunglasses, but after my cataract surgeries, I really need them on my face! 👀 👓 BTW~~~ Your pickup needs an oil change! 🛢 🛻😁👍👌
@@deblarsen8528 And they make such attractive sunglasses nowadays. And I don't know why Mike gets so many negative comments. I think he does a great job! Now, I don't watch BTR because it's a lot of drinking and some swearing, but if I don't like something, I just don't watch it. I think some people just like to complain. Thanks, Deb, for your comment! And I had cataract surgery about 12 years ago!
That was really heartwarming. Thankyou Mike. Thankyou for sharing these beautiful moments with us. Appreciate it so much.
Brutus could be the next crackerjack.
Bittersweet but a milestone you have to do after each bottle baby season. They’re always fine afterwards ‘Dad’ 😢❤
LOL Was kinda like that first day of school for one of the kids! Thanks for watching Frank.
Brutus is just not interested in doing what you want him to. He was hoping for a longer nap.😂😂 Brutus could be another Cracker Jack in time.
Brutus didnt want to do a thing! But I annoyed him enough that he moved just so I'd leave him alone! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for being so gentle with the babies. They were so willing to please. You are so patient with them. God Bless .
Hay Mike, Another great video! The bottle babies are growing up! They will fit right in with the herd! God Bless those little furbabies and the rest of the herd!! Until your next video ~~~Stay safe, healthy and happy! 🐃 🐃 🐃 🐄 🐃 🐂 🐃
I have watched you for several years now. I couldn’t do what you do, I would be so attached to them. I understand that it’s the circle of ranch life. I appreciate all the love and care that you show with all of your animals….Thanks for sharing all of your videos.
A bitter sweet time.
You have put so much time and effort into these calves and treated them the children they are.
Then let them go into the big world.
Can't help shed just a little tear.
Just a little one.❤
Brutus better get to stay😭 he's so loving
Having a bottle calf is a blessing and a pain, both at the same time. Having done several bottle calves over the years, first as a young man, then later as a father of my kids for 4H, has had it's ups and downs, for all of our family. Knowing that, there is a bitter/sweet feeling you get when a calf is finished and turned out to the herd. Good to see yours get to the point of independence, but I'm sure that it's the same for you all, bitter/sweet. Hope everything goes well with your calves and also going well for your haying. Have a nice evening and I hope you have a good Friday!
Thanks for sharing your experiences Dan. Have a good weekend.
We bought a steer for graining to be butchered in November. He was used to practice calf roping and dog herd training so he was quite used to people. He's like a 900 pound chocolate lab. He likes to play soccer, you cant do anything in the pasture without him in your back pocket and licking you to death. The grand kids have named him and play with him and when the time comes, well I dont know.
Wish ya luck with the grandkids John.
It'll be a sad day when "freezer camp" time arrives.
@@territn8871 Yes, it will, until the first bite of rib eye.
I'm a little misty watching those 3 meet and join the herd. It really is like letting babies fly from the nest, so to speak.
It was the next step to their growing into productive members of the Herd. Thanks for watching Cindy.
Hey Mike & Erin just wanted to thank you again for the stay in the RV Park and the burger Pattie’s and the Roast was awesome. Keep up the great work. Kevin & Lori from West Virginia
Your welcome, and glad to know you enjoyed the meat. Thank Kevin & Lori
I recall mentioning this memory before. I was working for my Uncle Ted one summer on the farm. He asked me to help move some steers. I was in a pasture that narrowed down into about a 20 foot passageway. My uncle got them moving nicely towards me. They had to make a turn. One steer started running towards me and was not interested in where "he" should go. I clapped my hands once and he turned a complete 90 degrees and charged right through the fence. I was surprised, but so was my uncle. It was a 3 barb wire fence. The strands broke like they were string. . . . lesson learned. 😮
Great to see them move to the next chapter of there lives. Just amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Imagine its kinda like seeing your kids move on with their lives? Thanks for watching Scott.
Was just watching some videos I missed this morning ….. so funny watching Brutus just saying nope not going anywhere ….. I think its wonderful seeing the relationship you have with all your animals 😊😊
you are so kind. I watch some videos and the rancher will not be as gentle and thoughtful as you.
Thank you.
I had the pleasure of being able to bottle feed #10 this summer. That was so cool !! Such a sweet video, thanks Mike....
Your welcome Evelyn.
Bottle babies are heart breakers, its like one of your kids
That's the truth. They're so sweet, like a big puppy dog!
Hey, those sunglasses protect against damaging UV rays. And with as much time as Mike and crew spend outside...it is very much needed.
Awwww, the calves are adorable 🥰🥰
No more bottles for them but the other ones are still drinking from their moms?? Happy and sad day.👍❤️🇨🇦
Thanks, Mike, for a great video. It's a little hard to let go, but life goes on. Right?
Glad ya like it Beth, and yes life goes on. Thanks for watching.
Cannot agree more. Your job as a farmer or rancher is to grow the best product that you possibly can. Any one else that is doing this is totally mistaken watching you feed cows at- degrees & i used to think 25 was cold. Your dedication to the ranch is admirable keep up the good work you to Erin
Thank you Perry
I have the same feeling about naming the animals.
You do a great job, Mike. 🐂
Thanks
I would find it hard to let them go too. So adorable. Cute how the other calves came out to meet them. Won't be long before they totally adjust. Be Blessed! Janes Dough
We never miss an episode and this one was really sweet. Thanks so much for a great, clean show to watch twice a week! One request, please? We really appreciate it when you have captions. Sometimes I think you forget, and my sister (we're old & we live together) has a very hard time hearing it. And the music is just really hard for her; it somehow messes with her hearing device, so we have to mute that, especially banjos. So thanks, and please keep making caps available. We hope to make it to your Ranch Roundup next year!
Thanks for sharing our wyoming life I hope you have a great weekend 🤠
Thanks, you too!
Thanks our wyoming life I appreciate it
That was Bittersweet Mike. I think they will be fine, but a Little Apprehensive though. They will grow up to be just Another addition to the entire herd. Thanks for sharing!
I was really expecting Brutus to kick the breath out of you. Surprisingly, no reaction at all!
GREAT VLOG Mike...
Time went by fast watching the bottle calves go out on their own...
GREAT JOB MIKE 👏👍🤗
Today 106°f Corona, California... Stay Hydrated everyone 🙏🤗✝️
Glad you enjoyed it Linda. Hope you stayed cool today.
I hope the western and southern states start to cool down ASAP! I feel so bad for everyone and everything. Humans, animals, trees, plants, birds and fish. Even the oceans are warming up and that's not good. Hydrate everyone. I live in Minnesota, this next week is going to be a cooker.... that means a possibility of severe storms. 🙏🙏 Prayers that we go back to "normal" soon!
Hey, Mike, Erin, Jeff and kids.
Hi Tammy
Great Video Mike

Graduation day for the bottle babies. A bittersweet day. Growing up is hard to do if you don’t let the bottle babies move on. I hope they do well their first night out. Thanks for sharing, Mike.
You are welcome, and thank you for watching.
Very exciting to be watching these little guys and girls move in with the Adults ❤

85° down here would be heavenly but it’s been in the hundreds for quite a while and will be continuing central Texas
Loved hanging out with the bottle calves.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I always love bottle calves so much work to get them to this stage but then there comes time like children they have to fly❤ have a good weekend
We used to do some bottle calves very fun part of farming 😊
Thanks for sharing that memory.
A really great video today, Mike. I felt a little sad for them. Their lives will really change now. How do they find water?
Thanks glad ya liked it. They can smell water and will just follow their noses, and following the herd.
GREAT VIDEO
nice grass
I’ve learned all about ranching and agricultural life from my agriculture class at school it is so cool to see all the ranching and agricultural life in real life though
I imagine seeing it in a practical application makes sense after studying it at school.
They graduated from nursery school and now on to cow school.
They're hitting those milestones Val.
Howdy from west Texas!! 🤠
Howdy Leslie.
You just brought to mind a Holstein we had on our dairy farm. She was a great milker and for some reason she didn't like me as I got older. I think she was a bottle calf because her mom passed away her on birth. Anyway, she was a great producer
Thanks for sharing that memory Tom.
Happy day for the bottle calves! Let's hope Brutus learns to move like a cow! You can't be trying to lift on him like you did! They are sweet, beautiful animals, Mike.
LOL You got that right! That was the last time Im gonna pick him up. Thanks for watching.
Its a new world for the bottle calves and Mike.
Someone call the Guinness people!
That's awesome👍😊
That made me cry😢
Sometimes witnessing live progress can be emotional. Thanks for watching Brenda.
Nice video Mike, you’re a good cow daddy lol ❤🇨🇦
How long do the calves stay on your ranch? How long are they on feed lot? Very interesting channel and you seem like a great guy.
How touching... they will be fine, Mike.
Yeah, I know but still watching them grow up!
Kind of bittersweet. Part of growing up. 😊
Yes it is.
Awesome happy they are out to the pasture… just wondering if the mini donkey 🫏 had her baby yet?
Sadly no Ethel lost her foal a while back.
@@OurWyomingLifeOooh, I'm sad hearing Ethel lost her baby. Do you think you will have her bred again? I was worried something was wrong as we waited and waited for her to foal and nothing ever happened.
Brutus is definitely a brute!
