- In this video we go over ways to mount and plumb your Moroso vac pump setup. We were at Maple Grove for a division 1 race, and thought it would be a great time to shoot some footage of several setups, and let you know the pros and cons of each way we give an example of. If you have any questions, please ask!

Great video guys, well done.
I'm not sure vacuum at idle is overly important so it's definitely good to know the pump can be mounted in different orientations depending on available space.
Took me back to 1985 with that intro tune. Radical!
Great video.
What orientation do you recommend for a street car..??
Does anyone make a kit or drive mandrel for a Ford Coyote with the ATI dampener?
I'm considering a vacuum pump for my Coyote-powered drag car but I'm having a hard time finding a way to drive the pump.
Give us a call when you get a chance, and we can try to figure something out for you!
Call the main line and ask for Ray. He'll do what he can.

@MorosoPerformance can the enhanced pump bracket be mounted on the front of the pump?
I may have found a billet bracket to suit my barra that will join to your existing bracket and align perfectly with the ati and ross harmonic balancers (I have a ross)
Can the enhanced bracket be mounted at the front?
The enhanced brackets are pretty versatile. They're designed to be mounted to either head on a small or big block chevy, but can also be run on a motor plate. As far as "at the front", what exactly were you looking into? Also, if you need to chat, give us a call directly and ask for tech!
can you run it in reverse as I would like to mount it on frame facing solid mounted engine ?
Yes, you can! Just keep in mind that since the pulley is spinning in the opposite direction, the hoses get switched.
Have watched this video 10 times. I'm mounting 22641 on the driver side due to restraints. For best hood clearance the suction side will be at 8:30 position with exhaust at 5:30. This is the easiest for me to rout hoses, it's also a start for what I've mocked up. Will this 4 vane style pump still work efficiently? Let me know, thanks.
Hello James, that orientation will work with your pump. What we recommend avoiding is having the exhaust fitting pointing straight up at 12 o'clock. This would make it harder for any oil in the pump to escape to the breather tank, causing it to pool in the pump body. Having the pump clocked like you have mentioned will trade off some vacuum just off idle as Scott mentions toward the end of the video around 6:00, however once RPMs increase the overall vacuum the pump is pulling will not be affected.
@@MorosoPerformance thanks so much for helping me out. My life suddenly got easier.
Would you change the pulley wheel for use in a diesel? To reduce the vacuum at revs or increase because of lack of revs in the diesel app? Thanks from u.k.
We typically recommend driving the pump at 50% engine speed, that would be the best starting point for your motor. If anything you may need drive the pump a bit more quickly depending on your engine combo to accommodate for the lower RPM of a diesel as you mentioned.
@@MorosoPerformance thank you very much. Do you ship to England? Thanks
@@davidmunroeprecisionengine6121 Not directly. There are a few US-based distributors that carry our items that do; such as Jegs, Summit Racing, Lane Automotive. We also have Real Steel in England that carries our products.
At the 1:42 mark, where can you find those air/oil separator for the valve cover?
That looks like our 68788 valve cover breather/separator. We offer it in raw aluminum with a straight hose fitting, it looks like this one was painted or powdercoated black and has had the fitting swapped out for a 90*.
I am confused I just bought a 22640 and it will turn clockwise. I will be mounting on driverside on motorplate. In the doc it shows the left being the intake and exhaust being in right. In the video all show the opposite. Is the doc wrong?
Even if you mount it on the driver side, if the pulley is still spinning clock wise, the inlet side will always be on your right hand side. So if you we're looking at the top of the pump with the MOROSO logo up, and pulley towards you, the fitting closest to "O" in MOROSO is the INLET from your engine, and the fitting closest to the "M" would be the OUTLET to your tank. If you need anymore help, please give us a call!
How about a door car?? Unreal.
