Well we kinda had this with kaizar we, but too many people complained. Which is most likely why we haven't gotten something similar since then. I was part of the community that didn't mind since it gave me a definitive goal to work towards.
@@blanahaha not exactly. Zig allowed weapon series to be upgraded into newer series as they released. So a NGS Zig exchange, would be something like allowing the Kaizaar weps from Kvaris to be upgraded to the Kouko weps of Stia with specific materials from different parts of Stia, and then with Ver2, have those same weps be upgraded to Verschemlz with mats from Leciel and Starless. This system would respect players investment in their weapon, while still giving them a reason to run the new content, with a clear upgrade path, and also a form of a pity system for those with bad luck for the rare drops.
The drop rate is trash by design. Sega wants to sell scratch tickets. Since no one can earn the gear by playing the game they will have to buy it off the player shop. Since it's rare the people who win the lottery try to make a fortune on the player shop by selling it. The only way to afford it is to buy and sell scratch tickets to earn insane amounts of meseta. Sega profits from each scratch ticket you buy, you buy them because you become frustrated and want it so bad that you swipe. This won't change until Sega is interested in making an actual video game, which they won't because the entire game is a scam. P.S. The treasure scratch and seasonal scratches exist to create a habit of scratching.
NGS is doing moderately okay with new content recently but with old content such as Drops etc. requires heavy revisions. I don't understand how some things take months and years to design (outside of expansions) and THIS is what they show for. Not impressive compared to other games which are much more fleshed out with a smaller dev team.
does anyone here know how he gets the ngs official creators thing? obviously i don’t want that specific one, but how can i get/make my own? i have no clue what it’s called but it floats around the name and looks cool.
@@inxics1159 it's an accessory that the game hands out to official accounts of content creators only. This is to prevent fake creator accounts some people might use to troll others or worse, say nasty stuff to try to get the og creators canceled and banned.
Honestly NGS needs a FF14 moment where they throw a meteor at Halpha and we get a complete reset on the game. Kero speaking exactly why i dropped from playing 5h a day to 30min a day. Effort is not rewarded.
Holy that would be so freaking cool like a mega huge one week event we gotta build a arks ship so we can leave the planet and that kick starts a new era in pso2 ngs 👌🏻
Or revamp Halpha. No need to rebuild the wheel when you can expand and revamp the regions. The idea that the planet is artificial and a space ship is interesting. It should be an evolution if Base PSO2 and not a regression.
@absolstoryoffiction6615 they really should had just forget about Halpha long ago most players are burnt-out from it and some is like me and don't like how halpha is in general also that do sound very interesting but the story telling in NGS is very bad and feels like they just adding story cuz the players tell them and they just throw something fast together.
@@sinasone9803 True... Base PSO2 story was interesting. Especially with the twist that goes back to Episode 1. For NGS... I sometimes get a Jack and Dexter 2 & 3 vibe from it. Which is why Halpha can be heavily revamped. Sadly, that's on Sega. And I don't think they will make a FF14 A Realm Reborn type of revision.
Kero I love you dude. You're the hype man we need despite the things Sega keeps doing to annoy its playerbase. The problem is the drop rate coupled with the fact the LTQ and Leciel quests are tying their drops to rank. Both these pieces of content has more specific mechanics that have to be known about and have to be done consistently for people get their drops in a reasonable amount of time. Previously, no one has really had to worry about really specific mechanics being as precise as we do now in Leciel and the LTQ. I don't particularly have a problem with it as I can just adapt, but Sega has been conditioning its more casual players to not care about doing the grind like everyone else. Sega has been spamming so many Seasonal Events people just wait until those come around to gear up vs doing the grind (which tbh it is sometimes painful with the exception of Stia). The other problem with the Seasonal Events is that Sega uses them to deal with resource problems (instead of just implementing the resources in a good way). I am not blaming casuals because they've been conditioned to think a certain way (except for the ones who purposefully don't gear [insert fashion excuse here]). It's just worse for everyone. The other issue is that Sega is now starting to make mundane items have low drop rates (like the Octo Arga's for instance): this is pointless. Sure the Tisah weapons are special, but if they're so rare (no one gets them or spends millions of mesta on the market just to get one) no one is going to care. The grind at this point should be the capsules themselves (from Leciel and the BiS capsules), not basic gear. Sega needs to stop doing this stalling nonsense as it gives the game a really bad look (the decent content is just overshadowed by the bad look). Kero you're more hopeful than me. I don't honestly think Sega will go back to the drawing board to fix this. They've done this kind of silly thing over and over again (Photon Scales, Blizzardium, Kaizaar weapon exchange shop), and just use the seasonal events to fix the problem screwing over their more diehard fans who will grind day one. There's a reason why we keep hearing people say "The devs don't play their own game" or "The Director doesn't play his own game". The devs keep either making gameplay decisions that are just bad (good on paper bad implementation) , or they keep repeating mistakes that they have made in the past.
Sadly, what likely will happen is that once 10* and 11* weapons are out,Tisa rdr will skyrocket to 100% current rates of always getting Relik and below trash drops.
It make no sense to grind for anything at this point when later down the line they give it to you for little to no effort that is why people no longer bother to upgrade for the new content when it will eventually get replaced anyway doubt there's many people who even meet the required BP for dark falz Solus and by the time the majority does it will be dead content already
I mean, just use regular Octo from leciel. Same potency but it's all-stat. Arga has what like 15-20 more HP? You don't need HP in this game just counter everything.
Well spoken. I couldn't agree more. The drop rate is seriously trying to kill the game. I'm a hardcore player and even I'm getting extremely discouraged by these stupid drop rates.
Same with some Capsules you need to craft the Augments you actually want , 40 Highael Domina are 4000 Notes , of all 3 combat sectors. so 12k notes in total.
Can we talk about how obnoxious it is that they are drip feeding the armor variants? So if you need Range / Tech or Melee / Tech, you get to just wait. Either be underpowered, or invest in the base armors that you don't want. And then SEGA laughs in Augment Transfer
On ship 1 there were several one to sell during day 1, they went for 20m+ and actually sold. Day 2 there weren't any in the market and it show just how rare they are.
Spot on, Sir! My addition is our minimal rewards for post 75 leveling. I'd like Sega to recognize the REAL level players have achieved and tie weapon unlocks to that instead.
I spent 80hrs with no yield, max drop rates... went back to BDO until the new stuff is cheap. At the end of the video I can agree with the dailies getting old, they even took away the mag form this go round from the battle pass.
Sadly SEGA relies on seasonal events to give out the new armors to the average player. But by the time those happen they will be outdated in the next month.
I've been betting that Tisah is intended to be the last 9 star series but they released it first at a criminally low drop rate to sucker people into inflating the games statistics cause either corporate or the devs thinks a fun game is a game that treats you like an employee in a sweat shop.
They aren't trying to make a fun game, they are trying to make money. If you want the rare gear for some reason, buy AC and sell scratch items to get the meseta to buy the gear.
I have to say, when Keroppi is unhappy you know the stuff has gotten real. I hope Sega adjust somethings to help even out the playerbase. I agree completely with Keroppi, that just doing dailies is the last step before a player quits. That is exactly how my cycle went before I dropped NGS. I still keep in tune with the content to see if things turn-around. It was the only way I knew to send a message the current battle model was unacceptable. 😞
Exactly; a lot of things keep getting split between extremes that likely represent a far smaller fraction of the player base than developers, and even some fans, seem to think. The idea that 'if you're not grinding several hours a day, and putting in hours of research and practice to master the most unforgiving content, then you're a casual player with zero competence' is exactly why such a harsh divide exists in the first place. Players who could easily venture outside of casual territory turn back because they're suddenly expected to adopt ALL of the behaviors of hardcore players to make that content worth anything at all. They can't just aim lower and still get something out of it. Middle/upper tier content and rewards that actually match someone's maximum player potential could do a lot more to keep people coming back. I keep bringing up Collection Files because of how easily they can tie together content, achievements and player interest. It's not that players hate the idea of potentially having spectacular luck one day and getting something truly rare; the problem is they don't have time for BAD luck to get in their way. Lack of exceptional luck doesn't necessarily ruin the fun of the game; it's the unfairly bad luck that really drags people out of the experience.
I was just muttering under my breath yesterday about how the stuff they released this month is too hard for the vast majority of players. At the time I was in the LTQ with a pickup group that got nowhere in it, but I was thinking about the quests from earlier in the month, too. With Leciel and then Solus and now the LTQ, t's like Sega tuned their difficulty under the assumption that everyone would have the best gear within a week. But very few players - myself excluded - actually have high enough BP to play any of the new quests well. Sure, they meet the minimum, but the minimum isn't even close to good enough to play them *well*. And yes, even Leciel still. Get the wrong boss and everyone wipes before the timer is up. That's (generally) not people playing badly, that's people not having good enough stuff.
Lol yeah not even running the LTQ anymore, way too chaotic for such a low drop rate. I'll likely be on Armored Core 6 for a while so I'll have this on the shelf for a few weeks
The drop rate would actually be ok if Sega relayed a 6 month schedule that detailed when new armors/weapons come out with their stats. Then you could determine how you play and what you want to farm for. The gear would have some kind of permanence and the reward structure could lean on cosmetics that drop. Problem is we never really know when the gear we have will become obsolete so there is defeat in not knowing how to spend time or money.
I think this is the take-away people are getting from the current drop rates: "Wait a few months and everything will be given to you anyway, so don't bother grinding." There is no motivation to grind the powerful items out when you know: 1- The drop rate is absolutely miserable, and you _will not_ be getting the thing you want. 2- Any gear you _do_ get will be quickly made obsolete by the next round of free seasonal event items they're going to throw out. This is a perfect recipe to turn your hardcore players into people who disappear for months between content drops, and leave the game empty of anyone except the people playing the gacha market and the casuals who log in just because they like the gameplay.
Sammy has painted themselves into a corner. They focus too hard on the gacha and are letting the rest of the game suffer. It seems like the dev team has finally started to learn and has given us some decent content to chew on. They seem powerless though to make any changes that “might” threaten the profit margins. Their drip feed content stream demands that each player remains starved enough to come back daily and suckle each droplet that becomes available. Else we avoid the inconveniences that drive their premium sales or miss one of their gacha scratches. Which screams predatory business tactics “SEGA Sammy” rather than passionate programming “OG SEGA”. Gone are the days of meaningful content and rewarding content grinds as long as the Phantasy Star franchise bears the yoke of a profit focused senior ownership. We need more OG SEGA fan boys like Oji-san making decisions over there and less cutthroat Sammy execs with Yakuza lineage. Sound outlandish? Research Sammy the company that bought out SEGA and you’ll see the twisted gambling addiction profiteers’ agenda a bit more clearly when lining it up with the bastardized state that Phantasy Star has been steadily declining into. As an OG PSU Guardian I see it all too clearly.
The problem is Sega spend much of the content up to this point for casual players there was no need to upgrade in order to do any of the content the sudden difficulty spike in content caught many off guard since upgrading prior to the content release is still a slow process and TBH I think it's too late for NGS to continue releasing hardcore content without alienating the majority casual playerbase since the hardcore crowd either left a long time ago or only few in numbers
Same SEGA, same PSO2 base game drop rates. Unless JP kicks up a fuss, it's not changing. I'm well past the point of caring about drops. Done grinding, I play when I feel like it or to help alliance mates. I'm having more fun by playing less.
If they're going to release a weapon with low drop rate. That's fine for the more HC players, but they need to be releasing alternatives for the more casual players. There should be MULTIPLE weapon options for players to select and decide what works for their builds.
The grind for the Verschimelz weapon isn't horrific, IMO. I've had a few drop for me, as well as Octo Armors. The issue is that rare drop rates for the newest gear is always broken in either direction, which is not a good thing. Once things progress past a certain point, the drop rate becomes much more common for these things. Welcome to the fun part of F2P games, which can make the grind murder.
I dont get why sega thinks 0.01% drop rates for items is a good idea content, i (and almost everyone else) dont find playing the ltq that gets boring after the 3rd to 5th run to be the greatest content idea because, like i have rn, people just stop playing and wait for an actually reasonable farm for decent gear. you cant expect youre playerbase to waste their precious time for a stupid drop rate For a slightly better weapon when the game itself has been mediocre in some or other capacity since release
This is exactly what I've been saying since the beginning. The drop rates and loot tables need work. I've legit given up on ltq altogether and went back to leciel. Which is sad because it's added and advertised as what you need to do to get a specific item that i want. And just like you said after 5-6 hours i was done. Was not worth it. I just got regular octos and said f it.
This video is exactly how I felt about most of this game's ridiculous grinds. Now that we have a new fixa system with low success rates, I think we should be given more high ranking weapons and armors and the end game be more about getting them all to fixa level 5.
I wish they did what final fantasy 14 does. You can roll for 1 tradable piece a week that if you don't get lucky after farming so much after a bunch of weeks you can eventually trade those in to get it.
The horribly low drop rates is the main reason I stopped playing. I'd play for a few hours a day and basically have nothing to show for it after a month. I'd have a little more meseta and maybe fully leveled a class, but the vast majority of my weapons and armor came from the shop and the Events. Way back, I'd even started soloing Ancients because it was at least a clear path to a good weapon.
Thanks you for saying this. SEGA fails to realise, if you want people to play the game to reward them with their time. It's great there is new stuff in the game, but what is the point if no one can get it. Dark Falz Solus is hard right now, why not increase the drop rate for completion? It's just so backwards expecting people to playing with nothing in return.
100% agree. The mentality of the player base now generally is they know they are not going to get the new gear. It's just unrealistically out of reach for 99.9% of the awesome pso2 players. It's not a good feeling. Great video, hopefully Sega takes this video seriously.
I think increasing drop rate’s it’s part of the focus. but the best thing to ask sega is to Improve RNG drop rate’s as a hole. I think the other focus is as gamer’s making sega to focus on f2p more friendlier.. Because it be more profitable for everyone else. Both parties whales and f2p are suffering to the point everyone getting the short end of a stick.
@@absolstoryoffiction6615 I agree. Buuut there gatcha needs work, and gatekeeping issue also rng and loot drop’s ect. If sega focus on more free to play as a hole and each and every item’s buyable sellable also tradable. The economy would self improve I’ll give players base something to work on and improve on as well. The list goes on. There’s so much more
@@victorhf9804 I agree not just equipment or attachments for ether weapon and gear. This is a big issue for economy in the players market. It kills off progress for casual and hardcore whale’s ect. Everyone doesn’t have an end goal, people don’t have a routine to progress.. What I mean by this is where to get supplies or equipment also meseta or sg too. There’s no place in the open area’s like borderlands if you want a specific armor’s weapons as well augment’s there no special boss or mod’s in a location that can provide you or the hole player’s base to proper farm or grind. If we all have that as well older equipment and Materials and items some what useable or find a better version of the previous stuff we have so far, this game would have more life and better over all. As of now this game digging themselves to an early grave till one or 2 ships remain. That is sad
I'm surprised people are now talking about RDR. Realistically, it's always been ass. Like extremely bad, previous weapons there was always a handful of players to get the new weapon besides paying for it. Just for Sega to add a new region then increase the drop rate by 10 fold and now we have the “Rare” weapon. Even in the first LC getting octo armor/weapon wasn't common (For some people including myself). Sure, it's not are rare as Agra but it's still a long one. The hype of getting an rare item is pretty much gone, If you come across it in pretty sure you'll just be surprised if anything.
Agreed. The drop rates are absolutely terrible on Tisah and Octo Arga. I gave up on it and feel people are better off just running LE for Versch and regular Octo as the Arga variant isn't substantial to justify getting unless you don't have regular Octo. Anyway, a good topic discussion for a video would be nice to let players know how Alliance Tasks had a change not mentioned in update notes that came with Blazing Battle LTQ. I feel more players should know of it if you haven't covered this yet. The new change regards note gathering alliance tasks. How it works now is that nothing will spawn but Dread and Dread Allies in the specified region area for the task. The notes are 100% drop. You do have to wait the Dread enemy spawn time. I used to hate that task as sometimes it would take me over 2 hrs to get 5 notes at times. Now it literally takes 10 mins.
Y'all know damn well they're about to hand Tisah out like candy either right before 10* comes out or right after so don't stress. You dont even need Tisah. Verschmelz and Octo (regular Octo) are perfectly fine
And you know if you've been paying attention when they do that they release a general drop rarity that's better and easier to farm. The problem is theirs very little reason to grind for anything because none of it ultimately matters. You don't need Tisah? I agree. Then why did they waste there time putting it in there? A weapon camo would have been just as effective. The problem is its a weapon that has function, you can use it, upgrade it, augment it, its designed to be used yet they've reduced it as an object to chase because Sega's team isn't confident in there own game to keep people login in otherwise, Its a very poor way to keep players engaged and logging in. This ultimately stems from a bigger issue that is the lack of meaningful content, players not bothering to augment themselves properly stems from the same issue.
@@don0zos195 I don't believe that to be the case, It's the way it is because of short sightedness on the developers, The whole "game" part of ngs screams "I don't know what a fucking rpg is"
Seriously this, mid-gear for Solus didn't even require those stuff. they basically hand-out almost bis gear to farm in Laciel which could be easily get than a base PSO2 Guardian soul set. I play daily and not grind my soul away and already get enough to stay survive in Solus. still it understandable that the rare drop needs to be fix since by the time player got their hand on this rare, they won't have enough mentality to gearing them.
I'm not super worried about the armors since we can get the orange ones pretty easy, but the Tisah weapon drop rate is annoying because the 9* weapon we can get doesn't work for slayer, so here I am playing with Neos
This game would be 110% better if you could "Save" a week's worth of dailies for a weekend grind and didn't have to log in every day for login stamps and mission pass progression. Being forced to log in and experience how empty the game is for half an hour every day has to be brutal for player retention, I know I'm burning out with it and since I'm about to have to take a month off to recover from surgery on my dominant hand, I'm not sure I'll be coming back to the game. The FOMO burnout chain is just awful even ignoring the pain it causes to my hand. I agree with the people who say we drop Leciel on Halpha to destroy NGS and give it an FF14 ARR styled reset and let us go back to base PSO2 for a few years while Sega does a full remake of NGS with new leadership that understands both PSO and the genre. I want the less twitchy A/RPG style of play past PSO games had, I'm tired of playing "Every class is Hero now", especially considering how frequently damage slips through a successful dodge/parry.
Not gonna lie after i farmed my second qt of 300 for the crit with the fixa to try and get fixa lvl 2. That 1o percent success rate failed, and when i realized i had to farm 300 again, i said naw im good time to play sumthing else
In base game we had like what? 300%? 350%? 400% RDR? Now we have barely 50% at the best cases. Boost periods up to over 100% RDR is rare as fck. Result: base was enjoyable, NGS is not. All your efforts feels absolutely unrewarding.
I mean, in a way i do like that there is some sort of super rare weapon out there. The problem is that there are no other cool or amazing drops. Look back on PSO and while something like the J-sword was ridiculously rare, you also had a chance to get other things depending on your emblem color. This system encouraged trading with players. Ngs doesnt have that. I guess its smart to have weapon camos over special class specific weapons, but you do lose the uniqueness of it. Another thing they need to bring back is weapon lore, at least for the camos. That adds a lot to the game world.
I was waiting for the Argas too, but once I saw confirmed there wasn't extra potency and it was just HP and PP + the terrible drop rate, I finally went and just grabbed a set of Fixa Octo armors and affixed those. I was like fixa is off the table with Argas anyways if it's that hard just to get one to drop.
I knew it, this is just a filler month. They just threw in the armors to suck us in. Next month is the true update. The armors don't even have fixas on them. That should tell you something right there. We really don't have any content. They need to have half the stuff they put in the loot box as unlocks. We should have 10 stars right now. Actually, tusah weapons been out for almost 2 months now. I got a armor drop and I sold it for 35 mill. It's not better than my fixa 5 Ajax armor.
@Ragingwasabi9000 I know, but I'm sure they will adjust the drop rates. Then slip in 10 star starless series secretly. They always do this. So if you get fixaless armors. Just sell them for like 35 - 40 mill. The whales are hungry right now. Next month they will have reasonable drop rates.
Saying rdr is bad is only scratching 1% of the surface sadly. I have done all dfa uqs I could since it was released, never got a good fixa for any classes I'm interested in. You can't 'grind' something which is not gonna drop for you no matter how many hours you put in. Grinding in mmos used to mean farming raw currency or materials that actually drop until you can make/buy your gear. Not hope for the good rng roll with no other backup way to get it. We also have no answer as to why we should even chase this top gear (ie in this case, regular octo is same potency as red/blue/yellow ones, who cares about 20hp more and 5pp when you already have 180+ ? Nobody.) Not to mention this ultra rare gear aside from brute force raw dmg isn't even good to play with, the last rare series that was really worth it from a usability standpoint was relik and that was forever ago. The entire itemization loop needs a complete rethink ( or just think ) and the content proposed to use it as well. You can clear solus with octo + LC augs from leciel exploration. Meanwhile I still find +50(yes fifty) kaizar & sestatos with somehow enough BP to enter dfi rk3 uq. Entire thing is a giant mess. Not to mention some classes like Fo even with BIS potency and maxed addon skills have too low dmg output to clear solus 3 man. The dps output between Fo and SL is probably x2 dmg for SL, this is ridiculous and a single Fo can't even cause an elemental down in solus making the class entirely irrelevant.
Relik drop rate was the exact same experience and same with Rugged. It feels just as awful. I went the first 3 weeks killing my sleep on 24hr drop rate cards and never got one during the farm. Drop rate is an absolute joke, and SEGA just keeps doing it. It's super weird because they keep saying they won't do it again and then they do the same thing. Very frustrating regardless of being casual or not. Leciel was amazing and I wasn't even farming it to get drops so much as I was just having fun playing it. Idk how they took a massive leap back from that to this LTQ
It's just how mmos work man. It's not really new tbh, Sega has really done the bare minimum with this game, and people seem to just eat it up. It's a gacha game dude, intentionally designed poorly. However, most players could care less. They just want to whale on fashion. Welcome to the new age of gaming. LOBBY SIM 2023
What happens when you focus on Phansion over Phunction... And this is a carry over effect in Quests; with players being rusty, and not performing as well as they could; due to not having the motivation, best gear and also the lack of rewards. Droprates are disgusting... I think they even spite the old 250k drops in PSO1. I'm guessing they're like a 1/1 million droprate or something on like the weapons dropping from combat zones lol. I was expecting the new armour would be dropping frequently, so people could put up fixa's and also players like ourselves upgrading. If Arga is bad, Belta and Sheza, might be just as worst lol.
Dang.. I honestly can feel you kero bro. I keep loading up AC to purchase RDR 100% for weeks but not a single Tisah drop XD, and this new Octo Armor: Arga drop rate is almost as similar as Tisah even though the rarity is 8 star with RDR boost. I just hope Sega can watch your this video and really do an improvement and adjustment for the drop rate lol.
I predicted this was going to happen with the new armor, and thats why I kept on investing in the base octo armor. My main headache is the arms refiners I & II !! Why are they so annyoing to come by?!
I’ve been saying that for a while I seriously didn’t get drops ever grinding about 6 to 9 hours a day. It pushed me to just playing market and waiting.
This rant hits home really, back during neusen plant days, i can stack up rare drop rates to about 200% for an hour i can grind there and drop a couple gunblaze weapons and great amount of refiner 2s. Fast forward to ver.2 days, i do the same in mt. Magnus for cn hour and i walk away with....million low value capsules nobody cares about and bazillion trash drops. The rare drop booster lost their value badly because stuff you care about just dont drop anymore. This is wrong, and this is why i swore to never pop another rare drop boost let alone buy more because they dont work for the stuff i want to drop with it. These rare drop boosters arent free, the 100% ones are really expensive for you to gain so little out of it. If sega wants to sell me stuff, sell me boosters that actually work and make a difference
I honestly think rare items are good if there’s a bunch of different weapons. Different content you can grind to get a particular rare you want. But everyone’s sort of working towards the same thing. Hunting for P wand and sealed j sword was awesome in psobb because these were really game changing and interesting weapons to use. But I think NGS weapons are boring, the designs aren’t amazing and even having a good potential isn’t like the abilities psobb weapons had. Another thing psobb did well was, even the not so rare weapons could be really valuable if they had hit on them. So a pretty unimpressive sword like red sword, could drop with 60hit, and it just sky rockets to being an amazing, very valuable weapon. I know we have fixa but it just doesn’t feel the same. I’ve spent a few months now really honing my gear, I’ve reached 150+ potency and you know what, I don’t feel like I’m immensely more powerful than when I first started the game. It’s a strange feeling, and even though I know increasing potency is important when it comes to clearing missions, but it almost doesn’t feel worth doing.
I can hear it in your words that you want to say meaner phrases but you have a face to uphold. I respect your dedication though to delivering us content despite the state of things.
I remember spending multiple weeks hunting for a Psycho Wand on PSOBB. Never got it to drop. I think part of the problem is how gear works in NGS. Part of it is the constant gear progression/power creep Sega is locked in to. I guess I just miss how stat and gear progression worked in PSOBB.
I definitely understand how you feel. The gear progression in PSOBB was simpler to understand. Even non-rare weapon like a Laser with Hell's Special on it with 30% hit was an amazing and you can do so so much with it. Even the "trash" rares were still unique and unique specials (I used Red Saber with 30% Hit for the longest time as my go to Single Target weapon). Even weapons without hit had viability and the units on your armor were the big hitters (and still pretty easy to come by all things considered).
It also happens in PSO2 where each new bis weapon for each episode is locked behind abysmal drop rate. Dark Falz Elder used to drop very little, and Dark Falz Luther drop even less! they fixed it halfway tho.
It wouldnt be a problem if it was fun to grind but both Leciel exploration and Blazing battle are a pain to grind for the low LC drops it was fresh and challenging at first but once you had to grind due to the low drop rate it over stayed its welcome
I haven't touched Leciel in 2 weeks because of how mind numbing the grind became, unless they change it I'll probably never touch it again, honestly the augs just aren't worth it imo.
my biggest issue isnt that there is super ultra rare gear, its that that gear is the only thing to go for. im fine grinding to get rare items, if im gettign ANYTHING at all while i grind. i feel like im just wasting time when i get absolutely nothing worth using over my neos a, even as a side grade. unless i hit the literal lottery to get octo armor or tisah weapons, im getting basically nothing. i played diablo recently, and that game also has RIDICULOUSLY rare items, but theres other stuff you can get that is interesting and useful. in ngs, all ill get is materials, which i dont have any new gear to use on!
I couldn't agree with you more. Ridiculous drop rates and major new content being PuG unfriendly. At this point, I do seasonal stuff when its around, do easy dailies and weeklies, and work on classes that aren't 75. 30 mins a day is pretty much it. My Crystia, Neos A and Neos J are all I need. Sad really, the grind is soooooooo not worth the reward. Thankfully BG3 came out recently to spend my time on (awesome game I might add).
Yeah... to be honest, I have never bothered for the item drops overall due to that bogus drop situation, I pretty much focus more on the capsules but that drop overall has made me to not fully care about the game overall, that's why I have not really bothered much doing stuff like Dark Falz Solus and due to that is not worth and is sad (I could kinda let slide somewhat DF Solus as is intended to be hard, but the other stuff not much... heck, it took me a while to do Rank 1 of Dark Falz Interception R.2 Trigger by myself as no one wanted to help me), there's a reason of why most players (myself included) ends up using (for the most part) the seasonal weapons (I sticked with the Crystia Weapons for nearly a full year and my current best option in terms of upgrade is the previous Seasonal weapons from the recently expired anniversary event for Slayer class or with enough time to spare for other classes the Leciel weapon you can trade for 50 of that item I forgot the name if you don't care about the Lv.1 Fixa Termina that costs 500 of those, not to mention that the get a fixa system is for the most part a waste of resources with that pitiful 10% success rate and most of the time you get a fixa you don't want on the weapon), beause of that my game time with PSO2NGS whenever I don't want to LV. grind the classes I don't have at Lv.75 is pretty much do dailies and UQs if those can be done at the moment and do other things like playing a different game, oh, and getting the stuff that gives meseta for the moment I want to upgrade my stuff or get phasion stuff.
I just want some variation... whenever you build gear its always the same. I have an inventory of unused augments because i only ever need the same set. Can we get the ability to fuse other capsules? I have a ton of the fusia but they only make stuff you don't need. I'd love to experiment mixing random capsules together to see what i get. (I like playing with alchemy in other games) And none of this 10% success fluff...
Well, this is how the augmenting is in pso2, as you described, and too many players complained that it used too many brain cells and it got gutted down to what it is in NGS now. (Every single drop used to have some value, even 1*drops were used as fodder in the most endgame affixes) Sadly, SEGA completely removed all usefulness for low rarity gear, but didn’t remove the useless gear from loot pools and drop tables and this has been diluting the drops in NGS since launch.
100% its hard to defend NGS and already two of my friends dropped it recently because they didn’t find it rewarding and probably im next but it’s sad what they’re doing with the drop rates it’s exhausting
As a player who does also put a lot of time into the game, even I have just come to the conclusion that Tisah is just a myth and I dont even include it as a viable weapon for endgame.
We should just be able to work towards a guaranteed goal, like having to defeat 100 high level bosses to get one part of the weapon, 50 PSE bursts for another part and so on. This would keep people busy and provide achievable (!) goals. Something like the collection files.
True. There are many solutions to the Drop Rate/Reward issue. The best solutions are to have many ways of obtaining it. Sadly... Drops have always been terrible in NGS. Even in UQs. A lot can be done but I'm not Sega. If it was up to me, then NGS would have evolved beyond what it is today. Even with the context of Base PSO2. For an 8 year old game? This is heavily disappointing. When indie games are content rich by a smaller dev team. I expect better from larger dev teams who actually have the resources to do better. But such is the norm, sadly. Not many AAA games spark real inspiration in me.
I miss the good guarantee rewards for doing UQ like Ageis Souls for Halpha lake everything else after that was a bonus if only the other content Sega rolled out had followed that model
These drop rates are pathetic. These should be like rarity 13 drop rates. They clearly need to change things but they won't since they don't care. This game is just a cash grab to them.
I totally agree with Kero (raise my hands & my legs) I got no motivation to farm Leciel Exploration anymore, I've got nearly 700 Growthment, but never got any Octo Armor or even a Verschmelz weapon. Ended up I can only exchange from Item Trader Shop. But hey, there are new units added with this LTQ. After 6 hours of farming LTQ, then I realized that's stupidly wasting my time 🤬 Got nothing rare with all kind RDR used, but just a bunch of trash weapons. (Of course with pub run not all S rank)
just bring ol' weapon collection system back duh... make it so you select a weapon or two, also any armor or two: a gauge fills up as u kill certain boss/clear designated quetst, also selecting that the weapon/armor has a fixa (lets just say limited to a lvl 3 for watever sake sega limits it) it extends by a stoopeed amount the points needed to fill the gauge and set a cooldown before another weapon hunt can begin make it 3 days mabie 5 or a week or two depending on the rarity and fixa of the gear; also making it flexible so it fills up for a bit doing other stuff coz going brain ded zombie auto mode on one single thing can and will bun up any1 at some point knowing you dont progress unles 'you do ThE tHiNg over and over' also i just love Leciel its so mush fun getting the fubbs and slowly getting stronker for a bit.
Havent watched the full video yet but I think another problem besides the drop rate is the lack of things that drop it. 1 mob at the end of the LTQ which you cant get to in pubs unless everyone is good and geared might as well make the drop rate 0%.
This is exactly why I rather wait for the level increase there's no point in farming these weapons and armour there's no point in farming them anyway I think these weapons don't even exist to me I rather have the gear that I have now then continue to farm these weapon series I'll just wait for level 80 comes out
I picked a perfect time to take a break from the game especially with new games coming out I can't justify wasting any more time with NGS at the moment.
These rare drop rates feel immeasurable demotivating to farm, on top of the low drop rate of augment as well as the heavy meseta deflation from upgrading these feels just as dreaded as a child going to the doctor for a booster shot. It's even more insane if you have multiple characters wearing different armour types.
another problem is that limited time quest is boring compared to leciel exploration, so I can't farm too much this ltq. At least sega should add octo armor arga to the drops of leciel and current uqs, it's so stupidly low that it doesn't matter too much xD
@@WolfHaseo914 Not to mention that mathematically a current maxed out Kaizaar weapon matches, if not surpasses a maxed out Neos-A weapon with fixas which is 2 rarities higher.
they still have the same base treatment where u need 200%+ rdr for a small chance still... like idk why they acting stupid , people wanna feel rewarded and when they grind and be motivated to grind more.. not grind for weeks and get NOTHING NOTHING so many people stopped grinding and slowly quiting the game cz of this
I have literally no motivation to do the LTQ because of how crap the drop rate is. The pugging experience for me also makes me not want to play the LTQ especially since I'm awake at graveyard hours. And none of my friends are on. I legit just log in do my daily and log out now.
I miss Zig. Crafting weapons and units was such a satisfying experience. Sure the grind was long but you had a goal that was possible.
This is one of the reasons why I still only play pso2, and not NGS lol
Move 'Zig'. For great justice.
You can't keep increasing the grind to pad out a game's length in place of adding content
Yep, you hit the nail on the head.
NGS is doing moderately okay with new content recently but with old content such as Drops etc. requires heavy revisions.
I don't understand how some things take months and years to design (outside of expansions) and THIS is what they show for.
Not impressive compared to other games which are much more fleshed out with a smaller dev team.
They add content every 2 weeks or so.
does anyone here know how he gets the ngs official creators thing? obviously i don’t want that specific one, but how can i get/make my own? i have no clue what it’s called but it floats around the name and looks cool.
@@inxics1159 it's an accessory that the game hands out to official accounts of content creators only. This is to prevent fake creator accounts some people might use to troll others or worse, say nasty stuff to try to get the og creators canceled and banned.
Ship 3 only got 2 on shop. Of course the price enough to fund entire Zephetto's ARKS Project for another 500 years.
@@alri2932we really do need to get off this freaking rock. So sick of halpha.
@@sinasone9803
True...
Average consumer: grinds forever, gets nothing. Deletes game
And that's a big problem because that means that SEGA is manipulating drop rates which is a bad deal.
Big ass facts!!!
It make no sense to grind for anything at this point when later down the line they give it to you for little to no effort that is why people no longer bother to upgrade for the new content when it will eventually get replaced anyway doubt there's many people who even meet the required BP for dark falz Solus and by the time the majority does it will be dead content already
I saw the prices for the Octo Arga on the market and knew right away it's stupid rare. Gave up on farming for it.
And I wanted the Sheza variant so I don't even have a reason to run the LTQ at all until 2 weeks lol
Surprise suprise 😒
I mean, just use regular Octo from leciel. Same potency but it's all-stat. Arga has what like 15-20 more HP? You don't need HP in this game just counter everything.

For one damage type. Not for all, if you like using different weapons.
So true... I am just waiting for UQ to pops and get those ticks as I can because for me it's much more rewarding. Sega, stop killing the game.
Imagine being a loot drop game that never gives loot. Oh wait, this is a Barbie game
Armor Core is where Im at since midnight. I ran this for 12hrs straight not a single arga. I'll just play armor core and soak in the nostalgia.
"im moving on to armoured core" shhhhh dont look at me
Spot on, Sir!
That's interesting since it's exactly what I am doing right now...running BDO.
I feel these day playing ngs is more like a work instead of fun for me
I have to say, when Keroppi is unhappy you know the stuff has gotten real.
I think this is the take-away people are getting from the current drop rates:
"Wait a few months and everything will be given to you anyway, so don't bother grinding."
There is no motivation to grind the powerful items out when you know:
1- The drop rate is absolutely miserable, and you _will not_ be getting the thing you want.
This level of aggravation is reminding me of when we all gave up on Blade and Soul
Base PSO2 has Collection Folders and other MMOs have Fragments for gear/summons.
Not only is the drop rate awful for the gear, but the lvl 1-60 gear Should NOT be dropping in any of the new content
I want more photon arts and dark photon arts 😭
I think increasing drop rate’s it’s part of the focus.
but the best thing to ask sega is to Improve RNG drop rate’s as a hole.
I think the other focus is as gamer’s making sega to focus on f2p more friendlier..
Because it be more profitable for everyone else.
Both parties whales and f2p are suffering to the point everyone getting the short end of a stick.

I agree not just equipment or attachments for ether weapon and gear.
That is sad
Been saying this to all my in game friends. I have no motivation to grind for lottery chance drops. I'm not doing it anymore
@@Freekillabletisah isn’t created for the average player, it’s for whales to chase. That’s why they put it in.

they basically hand-out almost bis gear to farm in Laciel which could be easily get than a base PSO2 Guardian soul set.
I play daily and not grind my soul away and already get enough to stay survive in Solus.
still it understandable that the rare drop needs to be fix since by the time player got their hand on this rare,
they won't have enough mentality to gearing them.
look at Solus drop ................ 1 Starl Soul every run .............madness .
I'm not super worried about the armors since we can get the orange ones pretty easy, but the Tisah weapon drop rate is annoying because the 9* weapon we can get doesn't work for slayer, so here I am playing with Neos
if dropping the non fixa octo arga is this rare, imagine how rare it is to get a fixa variant. damn
I miss the time when getting a fixa was the rare drop not the armor/weapon itself
It's ironic that they dumbed down the game to get more people to play it but they keep the very messed up drop rates.
It's not better than my fixa 5 Ajax armor.
next month is just another filler seasonal
Nobody.)
Not to mention this ultra rare gear aside from brute force raw dmg isn't even good to play with, the last rare series that was really worth it from a usability standpoint was relik and that was forever ago.
I get the most of my arms refiners collecting the invisible boxes at dreisen plant. Depending RNJesus you can get 1-3 a day. It adds up over time.
It's not a prediction when it's been the same low drop rate since Rugged.
@@PharCry You're giving off a lot of unnecessary "WELL ACKTUALLY" energy.
@@tnpfeatherz6499 : Wow, that did work. That's immensely useful, thanks! :)
Probably sega needs a review bomb to wake up. In Japanese.
Great video! This scream of soul was amazing.Never seen kero so angry, but he god damn right
My opinion is that the loot pool needs to be changed getting low level equipment is useless
Didn't realise the armor was stupidly rare... Kinda surprised i got it coz I'm never the one to win any gachas
Yeah... to be honest, I have never bothered for the item drops overall due to that bogus drop situation, I pretty much focus more on the capsules but that drop overall has made me to not fully care about the game overall, that's why I have not really bothered much doing stuff like Dark Falz Solus and due to that is not worth and is sad (I could kinda let slide somewhat DF Solus as is intended to be hard, but the other stuff not much... heck, it took me a while to do Rank 1 of Dark Falz Interception R.2 Trigger by myself as no one wanted to help me), there's a reason of why most players (myself included) ends up using (for the most part) the seasonal weapons (I sticked with the Crystia Weapons for nearly a full year and my current best option in terms of upgrade is the previous Seasonal weapons from the recently expired anniversary event for Slayer class or with enough time to spare for other classes the Leciel weapon you can trade for 50 of that item I forgot the name if you don't care about the Lv.1 Fixa Termina that costs 500 of those, not to mention that the get a fixa system is for the most part a waste of resources with that pitiful 10% success rate and most of the time you get a fixa you don't want on the weapon), beause of that my game time with PSO2NGS whenever I don't want to LV. grind the classes I don't have at Lv.75 is pretty much do dailies and UQs if those can be done at the moment and do other things like playing a different game, oh, and getting the stuff that gives meseta for the moment I want to upgrade my stuff or get phasion stuff.
(I like playing with alchemy in other games)
And none of this 10% success fluff...
Well, this is how the augmenting is in pso2, as you described, and too many players complained that it used too many brain cells and it got gutted down to what it is in NGS now.
(Every single drop used to have some value, even 1*drops were used as fodder in the most endgame affixes)
Sadly, SEGA completely removed all usefulness for low rarity gear, but didn’t remove the useless gear from loot pools and drop tables and this has been diluting the drops in NGS since launch.
NGS is like a casino with only slot machines and nothing on the slot machine pays out besides the jackpot you’ll never win.
NGS already at version 2.0 but they've learned NOTHING.
The daylies are also the only reason I am still playing ngs. XD appart from making my creative space.
I've actually started playing warframe again instead of grinding for the new 9* lol
This game has the player count of a practically dead game already.
Lets be real, the rare items in ngs are horrible in general. Nothing special or unique about the rare weapons.
I miss the good guarantee rewards for doing UQ like Ageis Souls for Halpha lake everything else after that was a bonus if only the other content Sega rolled out had followed that model
that would be a good return feature from base PSO2
They need to bring back the Collection Files. Simple as that.
These drop rates are pathetic. These should be like rarity 13 drop rates. They clearly need to change things but they won't since they don't care. This game is just a cash grab to them.
I totally agree with Kero (raise my hands & my legs)
I got no motivation to farm Leciel Exploration anymore, I've got nearly 700 Growthment, but never got any Octo Armor or even a Verschmelz weapon.
Ended up I can only exchange from Item Trader Shop. But hey, there are new units added with this LTQ.
After 6 hours of farming LTQ, then I realized that's stupidly wasting my time 🤬
Got nothing rare with all kind RDR used, but just a bunch of trash weapons.
"screw this, I'm going to go play Armored Core" XD Thats exactly what I did.
Someone need to speak up for the people we spend money on this product we should be happy😊
yes the rare drop rate needs a reevaluation, also the damage rates between different weapons are... off... to say the least.
i mean between elemental weapons and the newer non-elemental weapons the older weapons can sometimes beat the new weapons
depending on the target that is
@@WolfHaseo914 Not to mention that mathematically a current maxed out Kaizaar weapon matches, if not surpasses a maxed out Neos-A weapon with fixas which is 2 rarities higher.
they still have the same base treatment where u need 200%+ rdr for a small chance still... like idk why they acting stupid , people wanna feel rewarded and when they grind and be motivated to grind more.. not grind for weeks and get NOTHING NOTHING so many people stopped grinding and slowly quiting the game cz of this
I have literally no motivation to do the LTQ because of how crap the drop rate is. The pugging experience for me also makes me not want to play the LTQ especially since I'm awake at graveyard hours. And none of my friends are on. I legit just log in do my daily and log out now.
When Sega's own NGS Official Creators are bitching about the state of the game that speaks a lot for how shitty the game is right now.
