This puzzle has actually been mass produced. I received an email from HKnowstore today (june 10th, 2022) and saw that this cube is now available.
It's kind of an odd choice of a puzzle for mass production, as most people will never be able to solve it. But it's certainly good that it's becoming more accessible.

It would probably work better if the ball core was smaller, it would at least give enough space for the screws
