I’ve watched these guys since 1986, seen them 9 times over the decades, at their best. Lars got incredibly stagnant and lazy. But I will say that this performance, he’s really giving it 100% and he sounds great. Lots of trademark double bass parts played correctly and even some improv double bass happening as well here and there. And his tempo is much better than it’s been.

My brother and I took our 17 year old sons to this show and it was awesome! They put out the Black album my freshman year of college and all my new college buddies played guitar, so became a huge fan. What a great show!!!
Like AC/DC, Metallica is one of the best live bands you will ever see..I’ve been a fan since Kill’em All and I’ve seen them in concert here in Indiana every time they came here, my first show was Masters of Puppets and I was blown away how good they were live..been a lifelong fan ever since!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Loved the early Metallica. They lost me on the black album. And doing Jason Newstead wrong. Also mocked Layne Staley because he was in recovery. And Hetfield ended up there 6 months later. The crowd Live let him know it wasn’t cool to do so. Sang with a pop star …sellouts. I don’t like them anymore. Not even to Mention what they did to Dave Mustaine many decades ago.
@@kawythowy867 I was going to say the same thing, love Metallica and they're my favorite band of all time, been to a dozen of their concerts over the years but once you go to a Rammstein concert you'll never look at anything else quite the same. the same.. it's like somebody asked them how much fire do you want during your and they just answer all of it

I wish I could “like” this every time I listen!! :) such a gift Metallica has given us and such a gift that you posted this :) my son and I were there and we are still fired up from it!!! Happy a Friday :):)
Me and my fam was there! I've been to countless shows since the early 90s. This was one of the best Metallica shows I've seen. They sounded great and was on top of their game!
This Was A Great Night For The City Of Pittsburgh, From Joey Alaniz From Houston, Texas De Magnolia Park Neighborhood And To All The Fans Around Here. Rock On Metallica !
Happy to say I was in the Snake Pit at this show. Can't even describe the experience, most amazing feeling. I was the only dude with long hair headbanging lol. Caught two picks used by Rob & James too. Been to 4 other Metallica shows including S&M2, but this was my favorite. 10/10 would do again!
Dave is far more metal than James. Too metal for the Tallica boys. Dave also survived throat cancer. a voice that’s only had damage from yelling, to one that’s been mutilated by cancer/radiation treatments is not comparable. I love both bands, perhaps Metallica a bit more, but Megadeth has always been far more metal. Especially after Jason’s departure. They got a lil soft. All good, I’m still here. 💪🏻 Oh and, “five finger fruit punch” 😂 that’s awesome. I’m using that. So good. Now those guys are lame af. Agreed

Same here, my wife didn’t want me to drive from NJ to Pittsburgh. I’m going to the show in NY too, bringing my daughter to her first concert, too bad we have to sit through the Jonas Brothers😭
Never heard of this band before. Looks like they have done well for themselves and the fan participation is very cool. Congrats to them on making a living off of something they obviously love to do.
Much more than a living. Big box office money here. The USA seems to be afixed to 80's and 90's rock music. It was pretty damn good. What is crazy is it isn't popular radio anymore and these are the bands selling out stadiums.
Damn, PNC park is a weird venue for this. Literally the entire downtown area could hear this concert for free. Half the river was clogged with boats jockeying for a position near the waterfront. Pretty cool. ((PNC park is smack dab in downtown Pittsburgh as you can see in the last moments when the fireworks go off))

He seemed really into it at Lollapalooza too. He's getting old though. I can understand why he isn't as energetic as he once was.
Lars and Kirk both got lazy. I noticed Lars' drum kit has been dwindled down to half of what he used to tour with.
