H. Shelton Drumm saved My Life back in 1982. Having burned out in college and surviving on odd jobs the Heroes subscription service and my renewed interest in main stream comics kept me sane until my life stabilized. I still carry my Heroes Aren`t Hard to Find membership card on my wallet.
I feel so fortunate that Heroes is my local comic shop. Shelton is the most genuine, down to Earth guy around. He’ll always take time to speak with you, even sat and ate lunch with my son and I once as we left the shop and ran into him at a burger joint down the road. Hell of a guy, hell of a comic shop
I owe my 20-year career as a librarian to Shelton and his store. I didn't live in Charlotte but in a neighboring rural county. To me and my comic-loving friends, his store was Mecca. I can remember buying the first issue of Infinity Gauntlet at his store and my first trade Daredevil: Born Again. If you have a chance to attend HeroesCon this year, I highly recommend it. It's the con he puts on every year, and it's very comic-centric; not-so-much of the Hollywood-stuff. Shelton, if you see this, thank you!
I love these inside looks. Thanks for putting a spotlight on all the actors of the industry. Seeing all those comics in one place... would love to sort through a collection.
Oh. Mah. Deah. LAWD! All...those...longboxes.... I mean, is the Ark of the Covenant up in there, somewhere? I remember finding out about HEROES via Starfire's t-shirt in TEEN TITANS and its been my home for comix ever since! Thanks to youse guyz and Sheldon for the tour ! 🖖♾

This is the good stuff. Now you gotta do a video with Karla and Phil.

You know you've got a big collection when you need a pallet jack to move it around.
