  • Thanks so much to Britton Beisenherz, musician, composer, recording engineer, producer, and proprietor of Ramble Creek Recording Studio in Austin, Texas. Britton is one busy man, and a great guy. I really appreciate him taking the time to connect. Britton was a member of the bands Deadman, Milton Mapes, and Monahans, and at Ramble Creek he has produced dozens of great records, including albums by Will Johnson, Telegraph Canyon, Doug Burr, Graham Weber, Bonnie Whitmore, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Asylum Street Spankers, and many more. He has also written and produced music for film and television.
In this conversation we talk about Britton’s youth, how he got started in the recording business, his busy schedule, the job of a record producer, life in Austin, influential musicians, writing music for My 600-lb Life, Stone Roses, Will Johnson, Doug Burr, Greg Vanderpool, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, pet peeves, favorite books, and much more. Again, many thanks to Britton Beisenherz.

Thanks for this interview! Britton is my nephew by marriage, and I learned more about him in this short hour than I have ever known. He is so gifted in many ways. I think a great epitaph for him would be, "He showed his love by example".
