I was shot twice last year. One bullet in the chest and one in my arm. I had a 5 hour surgery and the doctors told me I barely made it through. I couldn't walk, couldn't stand, couldn't sit up straight without feeling intense pain. Yet I walked out of the hospital and 3 weeks later I became an Eagle Scout. A month ago I was just accepted into University of Florida with scholarships. When life beats you down you need to keep moving. I feel strongly that I'm alive because I'm meant for big things. I still feel like compelte shit about what happened to me sometimes but it doesn't matter. I am alive and I am breathing.

the thing is...complaining and being frustrated isn’t a moral failure. it’s normal and as long as it doesn’t take over your life....you have that right even if someone has it worse. It’s like saying you have no right to be happy cause someone else has it better.
also, tragedies and dying people don’t exist to make us grateful we’re not them. Hearing that 2 million people die of dehydration doesn’t make me want to be like “oh thank you jeezus for giving me water, I’m so grateful to you that I’m not them” it makes me want to help create a world where no one dies of dehydration.

Very inpiring Rudy, I was one of those complainers. I was a drunk at 18. I was 34 on December 9th, 2011. I went to work like I have for 17 years. Around 9:20 am I was inspecting work a mechanic did on a 10,000 truck on a hoist. A cable snapped and all I knew was there was a loud snap. I ended up with a broken leg and L6 and L7 compression fractures in my back. Im so thankful I'm alive. It's changed my entire life. Been happy and sobor every day since.
