Hi Elle! Our tradition started when my husband and I were first married. We were young and poor and had very little money. So our first Christmas together we "splurged" on a Hickory Farms sausage/cheese box. Because we didn't yet have a dining room table, we spread out a blanket on the living room floor and had a carpet picnic. Fast forward 25 years later, we've upgraded to Brie, artisan sausage, spreads and crackers. Our 2 children ( 20 yrs and 16 yrs) look forward to this traditional/untraditional meal and we still eat on a blanket to keep it authentic.
I've enjoyed your vlogmas very much!
Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!

I've mentioned this before but it is truly inspiring to see you as a fashionable and professional woman. I strive to become an attorney in the future and it is motivating to see you, a lover of makeup, fashion, and tea (yay tea!) in that field!

I just discovered your channel about a month ago and I'm completely hooked. Even though we live completely different lifestyles, you are so relatable and a great source of information. I've become especially accustomed to watching vlogmas everyday. It's going to be a bummer when is over.

This is the first year I'm watching your vlogs and thanks for the effort in showing us your life leading up to Christmas! Christmas for me is usually just a simple family meal, potluck style with each person bringing different foods to share and exchanging gifts! Merry Christmas to you and enjoy your well deserved holiday!

I live in England and my family's Christmas tradition has been the same for as long as I can remember, on Christmas Eve we always deliver the last few presents, go to the cinema to watch a christmassy film, and then we go out for a meal! Christmas Day is much more relaxed, we have a big Christmas dinner with turkey, Christmas pudding for desert, and then we go on a long walk before snuggling up with Christmassy TV on BBC1 and nibbles in the evening :) I've loved vlogmas Elle, you've done an amazing job! You inspire me to keep working hard to get my law degree by proving how much you can do in a day with your amazing time management!

I just found your videos recently, maybe three months ago. I have to say I love them so much, not only because they're great videos but because I'm from Vancouver Island too. I went to school in Burnaby before going to school in Nova Scotia and your videos are a nice way to feel like I'm close to home again. Also, a family tradition is to spend all day on the 24th cleaning the house, eat spaghetti dinner and then open a pair of pajamas to wear that night for Christmas. I can't wait to see the rest of your vlogs! Merry Christmas X

Since having my son I have really loved getting into the Christmas traditions. My son is loving the chocolate advent calendar - as a 4 year old having the numbers is a lot of fun and actually quite educational. We just spent the evening driving to one of the best streets on the coast for Christmas lights. So many people walking around spreading cheer. On Christmas Day it will be various meats for the rest of the family, while I focus on the salads (being the black sheep vegetarian). Then a swim in the pool in the afternoon. As I live in Queensland, Australia, it can be quite a scorcher! Loving the videos - I really look forward to the evening when I can watch the latest one. Cheers, Mel

So great to see a young professional doing so many things and not just wasting time! It must have been crazy tiring to work Mon-Frid and then preparing your online lessons, plus vlogging for almost the past month plus cooking and being conscious about your diet!!! As for traditions, Christmas is a very "sweet" period of time in Greece as we bake a lot. Honey biscuits with walnuts are my favourites! Also, at the New Year's we slice different kinds of cakes (at work, at home etc.), everyone gets one piece and the person who finds in theirs slice the 'hidden' coin is meant to be super lucky for the rest of the year!! I wish you luck and happiness!! :))

I really love the way you style your office outfits. I've been watching your videos for about a year now. Hope you have a lovely time in Hawaii! Have been loving your vlogmas and have also been following your channel for a year now. Absolutely love the fact that you're super personal with your subscribers and thanks for giving us a peek into your daily life. Our Christmas tradition will be a family gathering with a lovely dinner on Christmas Eve and it ends with gift exchange and counting down for Christmas itself. Turkey is a definite must for my family :) Have a blessed Christmas Elle.

My family does a big Christmas Eve dinner, then we go to church and when we get back we all change into our festival pjs and sit around the Christmas tree and start making our piles of presents, then we all take turns opening our presents. We stay up really late on Christmas Eve so on Christmas Day it's a lot more relaxed, we watch Christmas movies and just hang out as a family.
I love your videos and vlogmas, it's so cool how you're doing all these things and make it seem effortless. I hope you enjoy your vacation!!!

I come from a huge Italian family and we always have a ridiculously gargantuan homemade Italian spread on the table for Christmas dinner. We also pass a cookie plate around each year. If you are gifted the plate you have to bring it back the following year with homemade cookies on it. Great video, thanks Elle!

My family is from Bulgaria, though we live in the US now, and we eat baklava on Christmas!
Also, pro-tip: When you can't open a container, wrap a rubber band around the lid and if the jar is slippery, another one around the jar, and then try to open it like normal. The rubberband makes more friction and you don't have to use so much strength.

I can't believe vlogmas is almost over! I've had such a good time watching your videos - usually with a cup of tea. Here in Norway we celebrate Christmas on the 24th - I and my family have a fairly lazy day before we go to church late afternoon/early evening, then we have dinner (''pinnekjøtt'' - lamb), open presents, and generally just have a good time together. The next day we sleep in, have a huge brunch, and do nothing of great importance. Merry Christmas!!!

My family has so many Christmas traditions. Every year we go to a Christmas tree farm about 40 minutes outside of Toronto and we cut down a tree to bring home and decorate. This year I decided to pick up some of the apple cider they were selling which was super yummy! We also watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation EVERY year. It's super funny and I swear by now I know every single line to that movie. A newer tradition we have is a seafood dinner every Christmas eve. It's amazing, we have lobster, crab legs, and scallops wrapped in bacon! I hope you have a great Christmas, Elle!

I grew up with my cousins and they are about my age and festivities start right after dinner. We play games and have actual prizes courtesy of our aunts and uncles and everyone gets soooo competitive. Games go on til about 11pm Christmas eve and we just chill and eat in between while we wait for the clock to strike 12. We usually have Christmas ham and mostly anything which can be eaten with rice like pork stew, steamed and fried fish, chicken, cold cuts and beef. Yeah, we have a hearty appetite :) I am currently in Singapore now for work and missing the Philippines so much especially during the holidays. Love your videos, Elle. You make everything interesting :)

I have watched every vlogmas video this year and well every video since i found your channel! My family has changed a lot over the years and several of my nieces and nephews have food allergies so our food in the last few years has changed a bit. yet every year we still make a 'candy-cane cake'. We bake a chocolate cake in the shape of a candy cane then frost/ice it with vanilla icing/frosting and top that with stripes of white and red coconut (we use natural food coloring for the red). This is a Christmas tradition we grew up making with my maternal grandmother who was grace personified!

In New Mexico, my family always makes Posole on Christmas Eve. We also light luminarias ( candles inside a paper bag), which I think is a tradition unique to New Mexico. Luminarias are so pretty, btw, because the candlelight flickers if there's any air movement, and everyone lines their walkways with them. It's a beautiful accompaniment to Christmas lights.

Great video! I'm Portuguese and Chinese but we mostly celebrate Christmas with Portuguese desserts such as Milk Pudding (similar to flan) and Rotten Cake (it's not really rotten, it's kind of like a fruited tea bread with figs, raisins, and walnuts, sometimes pine nuts). This year I am making turkey breast, spiral ham, mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes, green bean casserole, corn pudding, and in preparation, tonight I made my Spiked & Spiced Cranberry Orange Sauce (I used Cointreau). Have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! :)

I'm so jealous of your Hawaii trip! That will be amazing. I went once a few years ago and it was wonderful! Also I ALWAYS end up burning the ends of my yam fries, so annoying! Maybe I'll have to check out that contraption. One tradition we have is that my mom always makes this pastry Christmas morning called Kringa (or maybe Kringla). I think it's danish but we are totally not danish- it's just something she tried once and we all like, so now we only have it Christmas morning!

I've been enjoying your vlogs this month! I typically work from home, so I feel more "in the loop" with the outside world on vlogmas. Your vlogmas vidoes are my favorite because I think you try to show us a little bit of variety, and I appreciate watching people like you who are more well spoken and are busy with outside careers, family, friends and other commitments... I can relate! Sadly I don't have too many Christmas traditions anymore since I moved away from my family, but I do still make the cookies that my cousins and I always loved around the holidays. They are a traditional Dutch almond cookie. One of my best friends is Brazilian, and many years ago she taught me how to make traditional Brazilian candies & cakes, so I sometimes make those for New Years if my sweet tooth hasn't faded by then. :) Merry Christmas to you and your family and have a great trip to Hawaii!

oops for Christmas traditions we have started with having Christmas crackers for everyone after the Christmas meal: pops open with a crown, a joke, and a trinket. Great for all ages. We also dress up for the meal as well as attend Christmas Eve program.

I love your work outfits! So inspiring. I only work part time and find myself wearing similar outfits day after day. In winter, even more so, Zara leggings, long sweater and weatherproof Aquatalia boots.

I never comment on videos, but I just wanted to tell you how much I've loved your vlogmas this year. Thanks for keeping it up despite being so busy with everything in your life!
My family's Christmas tradition is buying one special Christmas ornament for each family member in their stocking. They make lovely memories and make our tree look more interesting :).

Love watching Ellemas! your voice is so soothing! As it is summer here in Australia during Christmas (forcast is set for 37°c on Christmas day) we tend to have a cold lunch with cold meats, prawns and crayfish! Our tradition is all gathering at one of my siblings/parents house on Christmas morning to open presents just like when we were kids, wouldn't have it any other way :)

Our big Christmas celebration and dinner is on Christmas Eve and we open our pressies at midnight. also as we are situated in Australia, we spend most of the holiday period on the beach or with the air conditioning on, which is one of the reasons I love watching Vlogmas, to see what the holiday period is like in a cold climate! x

I love the Tiffany keys, they're such a nice little addition to an outfit! My family celebrates on Christmas Eve, we do gourmet together and on Christmas we go to my grandparents and have lunch there (that is still ongoing at dinner time!)

Hi Elle, December has always been exciting time in our household. This is the time when we all siblings finish taking finals, schools were closed, winter is around. I lived in south east Asia where winter is the season to look forward to. We don't celebrate Christmas but certainly enjoy the festivities and the food. Our winter tradition is to make 'Bhapa Pittha'(steamed rice cakes with molasses inside) and to have them for breakfast. Since molasses are available only in winter thus it is a winter delicacy. We look forward to them every winter. After moving here in the US I have fallen in love with the festivities in this season. Perhaps I am creating a new tradition by watching your vlogs every Christmas.
Have a wonderful day Elle! Your videos are my Bhapa Pitha. :)

The Christmas tradition in my family is that we really celebrate on Christmas Eve. I'm Mexican, and we call it "noche buena." All of the kids are sent to bed and the adults stay up until midnight cooking tamales, menudo, and enjoying plenty of alcohol. I love your channel, it's nice to see that as a lawyer it's possible to have a life out of work!

Hello! My family never really celebrated Christmas even before moving to Vancouver, but over the past few years, my tradition is to make some diy holiday decorations and watch Vlogmas on UA-cam. So, watching your Vlogmas is now part of my Christmas tradition! Thank you for taking your time to film and edit Vlogmas for us, hope you have a great vacation! Hopefully I get to meet you in Vancouver in the future
