I'm a public school teacher in California, and we have a large Sikh population at our school. I've been teaching in the same neighborhood for 20 years, and have to say that our Sikh students are overall amazingly mature, respectful, kind, self-assured, intelligent, and fun! I adore all my students, but there is something very unique and special about our Sikh students.

Sikh temples have food served every single day and anyone can come and eat. Opened to everyone. This is beautiful. Anytime someone is in need they are welcome to eat in the Sikh Temple. Door is always opened to the hungry...delicious and nutritious Indian foods... This is truly amazing.

I'm Christian and years ago an elderly Sikh woman invited me to her home to talk about our beliefs. It is one of the most beautiful religious discussions I have ever had in my life. There was no arguing, accusations, or judgements. We simply talked about our beliefs and what they meant to us. By the end of the discussion we both had formed a friendship based on love and respect. We visited many times afterwards until I had to move. I am so grateful I met her and that she shared what she loved most with someone who had never even heard of Sikhism before.
I've made a hobby of studying the religions of the world. I completely fell in love with Sikhi. I'm a Midwestern white boy that was raised hardcore Christian. I find myself standing up for Sikh that get ridiculed for being "terrorists", even though I run the risk of being shot for doing so. I was entreaged when a man come to my door to help with my internet And I asked if he was Muslim or sikh and he said Sikh and I continued to share my religious beliefs and my hobby’s and he stood there and just listen to me , I stated the fact I was 23 years old and then he had said he was 22 and I asked him how do you hold your peace , why do you look so happy ,and he just simply told me cause of god . We then continued to share our beliefs and now I’m here today I think that any religion that involves a maintenance of peace is good to me .

I spent years researching religions to find the one that I thought had all the right elements, served humanity, believed in Oneness of people, connectedness to God, gender equality, no judgment or hatred of other people or religions, and as an American, I made my way through all the Christian choices and moved on to Islam and Judaism and on from there to religions I had less or no exposure to, when I got to Sikhism, I felt home. I fell so deeply into it that I stayed up half the night researching and tying poorly tied turbans and sought out conversion and Sikh baptism immediately. So, not only is Sikhism the religion I would choose to be, it is the one I chose.

i am a Hindu. I go to Gurudwara every sunday and do seva in langar. Sikh and Hindu are brothers. Guru Nanak Dev ji was born and raised by Hindu family. whenever there is natural Hazard and any tragedy in nation. Gurudwaras are first to step ahead and help people irrespective of religion. Over 100,000 people visit the holy Darbar Sahib daily for worship, and also partake jointly in the free community kitchen and meal (Langar) regardless of any distinctions or religion, a tradition that is a hallmark of all Sikh Gurdwara. A big lesson to learn From Darbar Sahib for both Hindus and Sikhs which both miss to learn.. Be a good human

I am a German who converted to Ahmadiyya Islam, I like Sikhs, they are very peaceful people and the teachings of Sikhism actually have a lot of similarities to the teachings of Islam Ahmadiyya. Both religions also originated in Punjab. The founder of Ahmadiyya, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad also accepted Guru Nanak as a true prophet of god. The tradition of public langar kitchens is also found in Ahmadiyya and Sikhism. The slogan of Ahmadiyya is "love for all, hatred for none" and the charity organisation of Ahmadiyya is called "Humanity First" which is also a common teaching between Ahmadiyya and Sikhism. We Ahmadis believe all religions are based on true prophets of the one god, I like the friendly, welcoming attitude of Sikhs towards people of other religions. I hope Ahmadis and Sikhs can live as friends and in peace in the area.

You did not mention the prime difference between Sikhi and the rest of the religions as well as non-religions of the world. Guru Nanak proclaimed the equality of men and women. Sikh temples have food served every single day and anyone can come and eat. Opened to everyone. This is beautiful. Anytime someone is in need they are welcome to eat in the Sikh Temple. Door is always opened to the hungry...delicious and nutritious Indian foods... This is truly amazing.

I'm Christian and years ago an elderly Sikh woman invited me to her home to talk about our beliefs. It is one of the most beautiful religious discussions I have ever had in my life. There was no arguing, accusations, or judgements. We simply talked about our beliefs and what they meant to us. By the end of the discussion we both had formed a friendship based on love and respect. We visited many times afterwards until I had to move. I am so grateful I met her and that she shared what she loved most with someone who had never even heard of Sikhism before.
I've made a hobby of studying the religions of the world. I completely fell in love with Sikhi. I'm a Midwestern white boy that was raised hardcore Christian. I find myself standing up for Sikh that get ridiculed for being "terrorists", even though I run the risk of being shot for doing so. I know that you would do the same for me, my Punjab brothers/sisters. Don't give up! I won't give up either. The world will know of your message of sewa soon enough. The world needs more Sikh and I welcome every single one that I meet!

No buddy. It's not like that I have met and seen a lot of sikhs who aren't that welcoming nor do they give respect me as a Muslim. And I dont mind it at all coz I know that's their personality not what they have been taught by their parents or by their religion. Each religion has people who spread fasad. I fell so deeply into it that I stayed up half the night researching and tying poorly tied turbans and sought out conversion and Sikh baptism immediately. So, not only is Sikhism the religion I would choose to be, it is the one I chose.
