So glad I found your channel. It has given this game a new lease of life for me learning how to actually play it. Actually learning how to think like a manager really makes you appreciate the game a lot more than just trying to find a plug and play tactic you hope works which is what I was doing. Your advice on other videos around 'if they can't do it then don't do it' is a great basis to build upon. Great channel!
hi Phil, I recently found your channel and will be staying here for a long time, it seems... this is truly a masterpiece. I have never seen such FM content on UA-cam before. greetings from Ukraine
@@fm-oldmanphili thin this been my mistake, i manage to take sunderland top half but next season i keep using ext or key highlights and i got lot of bad resulta
Thanks Phi! What a good channel here. I saw another fm channel from a youtuber before, he suggested not do any changes and be simple 😮.....he said fm match engine is simple....and his team is Man City 😮....... I totally not agree with him and never watch his video again. I totally admire you Phi, pls continue to make videos 😊. I feel that few changes can totally change the result of a match, the match engine is realistic and not simple.
Thank you so much...I'd say in lower leagues, pace, strength, work rate and stamina are the most important things to have so I would have the line based on the qualities of pace and acceleration. If you have more pace at the back than the opposition has up front. Push the line up a tad!
@@fm-oldmanphil Thanks Phil for the quick answer. Can I ask something else? In Lower League, playing 442, what would be your main attacking threat/purpose? Pacey wingers?
In FM23 I did and I started playing with training in FM 24...I found quite quickly that training didn't seem to have any impact on development or performance. I found that as long as I had a good Asst., everything worked out fine. I do mange however, just out of habit the individual training of really good youth prospects and before big cup games will schedule more penalties and set piece delivery training. That's the way I approach it. Perhaps this is also in part due to time pressure of doing youtube schedules...but in all honesty, i think the asst. does a very good job in the training dept.
This topic might have to be a series. Some decent tips in here, but super basic. If you have a match where you're making 1-2 tweaks, that isn't really a proper match to use for "in-match management". Every match you were more or less dominating. At least in relation to the heat map. I'd prefer to see a match where you're under threat most of the match, and what do you do to unwind yourself from that sort of problem. You've got the passing stats up, is there specific things you look for on that screen? How do you handle 1-2 players just marauding through your backline? Etc etc. I LOVE the idea here, Imo, there's not enough of these videos on YT. But these insights are just TOO basic imo.
Your absolutely right...and this morning I thought about how much better it would have been to have the Celtic game to use. In that Game Momentum shifted several times and we were as I expected battered for most of the game! But we kept pugging away and finally got the result we deserved. So I was thinking exactly what you have said...So my plan is to turn it into a series. I will record each game when I play it live and use that game to show what decisions I make....of course these will be only the games where big decisions have to be made. So I guess this is the beginner intro to something bigger. Later I will change the title and thumbnail to reflect that. Thank you so much for your insight

Agree with you about key highlights. I noticed this myself that you don't see enough of the game
yes I always play in comprehensive again now...key highlights was spoiling the experience

Thanks mate....really do appreciate your feedback...and may you have lots of trophies in the cabinet...after all that's why we play!
Thanks, Phil. Pure gold !!! Question: In Lower Leagues how useful is to move up the defensive line?
