Fantastic hike with fantastic views. Tons of educational and historical facts. Catfish you were awesome. I love the way you are spending your spring break, much like I am spending mine. In nature. I really enjoyed watching every minute of this video. - Jenn Hiker and Educator
I love Cumberland Gap, there is so much history here, you did an outstanding job with this video and talking about it and all the details. Wonderful hiking too, we did the same trails, tri peak is awesome and the pinnacle overlook is my favorite view in the park it's awesome that they have displays like that canon still for us to see. If you go back, check out Sand Cave, it's such an amazing place to see.
We'll definitely return sometime, Sand Cave was where I originally wanted to hike, we just didn't have the time on this trip. That whole Cumberland Gap and Pine Mountain area is full of adventures to be had!
Well of course the Kentucky section was prettiest! We love the history as well. My parents are from eastern Kentucky, so it is highly likely that my ancestors crossed into that area through the Cumberland Gap!
Is there a CW cemetery at Cumberland Gap. My Gr. Gr. Granduncle died at Cumberland Gap and My Gr. Gr. Grandfather was captured with 550 men of 55th Ga. inf. was captured there.
I really don't know, I didn't see one during my visit, but that doesn't mean it's not there. Spending only one day there, there was a lot that I didn't get to see!
Gr. Gr. Granduncle T. J. Phillips died a year before the 55 th Ga. Inf. was captured. My Gr. Gr. Grandfather, Lt. Larry Grice Cobb Died at Point Lookout Prison after capture at Cumberland Gap.
The cave like sink hole you all discovered. Was a black powder stash that was set off during the Civil war.
Oh how cool! I mean, I liked my bigfoot theory, LOL, but that is really interesting to know. Thanks for the info!

Nothing like a tri-state hike to cover some history.

One of my favorite areas to hike and explore. I know you mentioned the Sand cave and White Rocks, you;ll love that hike when you get to do it.
It was my original plan to hike Sand Cave & White Rocks, but we had to cut everything short. We'll be back!
Yet another interesting place we have not been. Thanks for the tour and experience
It's a much nicer park than I expected, honestly, and not that far out of the way from I-75. Thanks for watching.
Awesome dad

No. There aren’t any Civil War related cemeteries in the area.
Teach me that trick where you jump up on the mountain like that.
Ancient Chinese Secret! LOL
Actually it would be more like an ancient hillbilly secret!!
