Day for Night is one of the best films made about the technical nuts and bolts and creative day to day aspects of making a movie. This includes Personal lives of the actors Actors trying to get takes right Shooting on location Shooting on a soundstage Directors having to make countless decisions All these and others are shown in a fictional film that feels documentary like at times. Anyone who wants to be a director of filmmaker should watch this movie.
I went back and watched a bunch of teen movies from my era. 90’s and 00’s. Varsity Blues, American Pie, She’s All That, Orange County. The whip cream bikini scene in varsity blues alone you couldnt do today and jack blacks perfromance in orange county is so over looked. Its just sad this era of film making is gone it was a feel good no ambition time.
