Thanks for watching Robert! I can’t get enough tri tip myself. More cooks to come for sure. Editing a Hot Chicken cook video now that came out great except for the weather. 😂
@@OutdoorsWithGeoff your one of the few people with half a brain doing these videos. and since we both have the auto kamodo and the 980 i seldom have to adjust recipes. keep up the good work. i have followed you for years.
Hi Geoff love your videos don’t have the auto kamado I have the regular kamado but I just purchased a inkbird bbq temperature controller so I can automate my cooks
Thanks for watching Darryl. I love the regular Akorn too. These style cookers are so versatile and the setup and easy cleanup along with the efficiency of charcoal always make this the perfect all around style cooker for me. I have plenty of Akorn videos in my list and more to come as well my man. I appreciate your support and that Inkbird does a great job! 👍🏾💯
@@OutdoorsWithGeoff thanks Geoff the only thing about the ink bird there is no setting for a 20 “ kamado I tried 22 but that made the fan run too long so I changed it to the WSM which is 18” inches which seemed to work a lot better they need to add a custom grill setting to these bbq temperature controllers lol
Question when you open dosent tge temp drop drastically.... when I tried doing steaks I got the heat to 450 put the steaks on for two min when I opened to flip after 2 min it dropped to 375 and couldn't get the temp back up to 450 before the next 2 min to flip accured
Thanks for watching Nick! I use The Good Charcoal Lump. Great Acacia wood produces some great heat. I actually end up using less of it because of how well it heats and burns.
John and Vera, thanks for your continued support. This was a great cook and the Auto Kamado handled the low and slow and sear portions great! Thanks for watching.
Thanks for watching. I don’t know exactly but I do know that the fan is smaller and uses less power than the 980 and I’ve seen on Facebook groups where plenty of folks have taken a cell phone battery pack and used it for hours and it may take up five percent or so. I’ll try to find the link for it and post it back here. Like $30 for the power pack and adapter to plug into the barrel plug. Very doable.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy. Let me know if you have any questions. I have a video on some tips for the AK coming out in addition to many more cook videos. Take care.
Very nice, Geoff! I know you’ve only done a few cooks on this new grill so far, but do you think the temp control on this one is better or about the same as on the Gravity 980? Thanks!
I’ll be honest. When it first comes on, it goes above the temp for a few minutes then it goes back down and locks in tight. Holds steady like the 980 with no issue. I think those seals help tremendously and in the fan there is this a bar that doesn’t allow the flap to go backwards. That creates a tight seal too. I’ll have a video out this week on some first thoughts and tips on it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks Mayhem. 👍🏾 And I’ve got some blends that I’ve made that would do well. Someone asked me that before and I’m familiar with the process. We will see my man!
Another good cook boss! I see this one hit fast!👌🏿👍🏿💯💯 that grill looks like the truth! Gotta love when you have so much versatility at your fingertips... how is it on charcoal usage?🤔🤔
Thanks for watching Joe. It’s really efficient on charcoal. That’s what I love about Kamado style cookers. You save so much using lump Va the briquettes and then you just shake it off and use it again. Very good stuff. Thanks for watching my man.
Wow that looks so good😊
Thank you!
That grill though!!! Nice cook, looks good
Thanks for watching Chris! I love these Kamado cookers my man. 👍🏾

How much wattage does it use hourly? Trying to go portable.
