  • For many, he was simply the younger brother of Nick Carter from The Backstreet Boys, but there was more to this artist who left us before his time. He struggled many personal issues in the public eye - including his sexuality. HIs struggles mirrored those of so many other LGBTQ members and that's exactly why I made this video to remember him.

I miss Aaron😢 I remember when I was a kid watching Aaron's Party on TV it was my first favorite song I ever loved.
Can't believe it's already been a year since he passed.

He was cute as hell before he got involved with drugs. I applaud his coming out, and lament the life he could have had if he had stayed clean. 😢

Aaron definitely had his struggles but I remember him for his musical talent and creativity. I met him three times, two of them here in Norway and one in the UK after a concert he had, while the two other times were at this venue in my city Bergen called Galleri Nygaten where he partied with the celebrity basketball team Hollywood Knights and in 2008 he came back to Bergen with Hollywood Knights and I got to take my pictuer with him and he remembered me. When he came back to the US, he started following me on X (Twitter) and though sometimes he would unfollow me, it didn't take long before he refollowed me again. I think his best music started from the "Oh Aaron" album era onwards and he kept getting better with each album, as well as many songs that were often performed at shows but never released on CD or digitally unfortunately. May he rest in peace and I will never forget him.

Today was the first time I heard about this guy. I perfectly understand his strugle and I'm deeply sorry for the outcome. I never used drugs but had a very difficult time dealing with my sexuality as a gay man. Today I'm still clean and I fully understand whom I am and how I must deal with a society that impose heteronormativity upon all of us. I'm not planning to die anytime soon.

Yesterday Aaron's sister Bobbie Jean was found dead in her bathroom from an OD and his other sister Leslie OD'd in 2012. I remember their mother from a reality show a while back and she was clearly an alcoholic and completely awful to Aaron. I'm sure that had an impact as the Carter family struggled with addiction.

I loved Aaron as a cute kid singing "crush on you" and then the teenager dating Hillary Duff, it's painful when you look at their journeys and she got to keep a sense of normalcy growing up and is now happily married with children while Aaron seemingly paid the child star toll and not even the love and support of his brother Nick could prevent that. I have two brothers, can't even imagine losing 3 siblings so tragically, RIP Aaron.

Aaron Carter may have been part of the LGBT community, but shortly before he died he recanted, saying he was not Bi, what he said before was misquoted by the press. He was going through something and could not deal with it for sure. I would not label him as part of the LGBTQ community if he did not admit unequivocally that he was bi, he said he was not before he died so that should be respected.

Yes I remember when recanted his statements. You are correct. He should not be counted as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Sounds like too much time spent thinking about himself and his ‘issues’.

Wonderful video that honors him and his life. We see how fans turn on someone who did nothing wrong. They go through hard times and folks wanna jump on the bandwagon. It says more about them than the celebrity.
