  • Update May 19 2021: VICE News produced a series of seven panels moderated by Frank Luntz from December 2017 to January 2019. Recently, it was reported that Luntz was on Ted Cruz’s reelection campaign payroll in 2018. VICE News was unaware of this affiliation, and Luntz did not disclose this information at the time of these productions.
"People had to suffer great deals for something most of the country doesn't want, which is a wall."
Frank Luntz talks with Californians about the longest shutdown in history on VICE News Tonight.

None of the wall supporters can give actual verifiable stats and evidence that illegal immigration is A.) a WORSENING problem B.) that a wall would actually be effective in stopping what historically declining illegal immigration is occurring.
Why? Because illegal immigration is trending down since 2014 and even Trump's own administration stats show that MOST ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and DRUGS cross at PORTS OF ENTRY and OVER STAY VISAS!!!!

You really think people are going to spend the time digging into the meat of these debates? No, they'll take what they see here as the voice of this polarized paradigm. I like that your panels are expanding and I like that there is more rational debate.
That said, some moderation of the tone while allowing the panelists to express their view would be helpful to discourse without influencing their ideas.

12,000 to 14,000 to 18,000 people. I think that’s a national emergency in any state. I as 1 person invading Mexico would be put in jail for the same.

The problem with society is that people are fed "Facts" from both sides. It comes down to bias when it comes to which "facts" you want to believe. How are the masses ever going to know the hard truth if it's being suppressed?
