I’m nineteen years old and I moved to Paris in September to work here as an Au Pair. It’s really hard for me right now. I had an amazing friend group and friend circle back home and I was very secure with who I was and what I wanted. I’m three months in now and I can’t help but comparing my experience to yours. The second stage of loneliness has hit me really hard in the last couple of weeks and I’ve also really started to question myself and my personality. I’m having a very hard time finding my place in a friend circle and just finding people who I really connect with. I feel like such a drop of water here in Paris coming from a smaller town. Your video made me feel both hopeful and sad. I start questioning why I haven’t made it over the loneliness yet. It’s been three months after all. But your video at the same time made me hopeful that maybe I will find friends here soon, maybe I will start connecting more with the city. Thank you for this 🫶🏼 makes me realise that what I’m going through is normal.❤️
Also, if you have any tips for meeting people in Paris. I would grately appreciate it🫶🏻

Hello! I'd like to tell you that you have all my support and admiration, life in France isn't easy, especially in Paris, people are not always warm lol (i'm french). I would recommend trying to volunteer in an association, you will find really kind-hearted people there and more importantly people who have the same interests as you! Three months is a really short time, you shouldn't blame yourself for not having overcome loneliness yet. And travelling is the best way to get to know yourself better so I think it's normal that you're questioning your identity (plus, you are 19 so it's normal). You can also try to find Facebook groups or contact the university to find people to go out with (or maybe there is a group chat with your colleagues?)

hi Lisa! What helped me make friends was going to Erasmus events, joining Facebook groups, trying out activities (joining sports clubs, language classes etc.), volunteering and I’ve heard bumble bff is actually really good too. 3 months isn’t long at alll it took my a lot longer to settle in Paris so don’t be too hard on yourself-

I had never thought about moving to another country. But once I got out of school I started thinking about how I want to spend my youth. Everyone says, 'Don't waste your twenties, its the best time of your life' But with my 20s just around the corner I feel stressed to get out and do something. There's so many conflicting desires but to which I will spend my time on, is still a mystery to me.
Your story of moving to France and Spain has pushed me to go for it. To try new things and get out there, enjoy things for myself.
Just gotta keep learning French now and then save some money for a trip to Paris.
Like you said in a previous video, "French hunny is the best to learn French from" haha.
