Its currently one of the books I pick up once in awhile to read while Im not busy. I can't wait to see what you guys are get into. A lot of those boats have pretty lines and are solid =)
I just ordered the book. I'm actively searching for my new home. I've been going out on a 30 Catalina and I love the size. Cant wait to see what you guys get and how you rig it. Thanks for all yall do!
Good Luck with the new boat. I have watched so many of your videos and I am constantly reminded so much of my boat; a 1979 Kalik 33' which I will probably have to give away after so much love, sweat, and tears. When I bought her, all I was thinking about was racing her....which I did, but mostly I had to start from the beginning learning about diesel engines, electric systems, water systems, rigging and so on. As you were kind enough to pass on information, the learning curve was steep!
I can really see where you guys are coming from. I've got a 29 foot boat and it is simple. It's tiller steered so no worrying about snapped steering cables, I can pull the anchor up by hand, I can raise the mainsail myself and I can get the boat onto the dock by myself. As you say, marina fees and yard storage are cheaper for smaller boats and in many ways, the adventure is bigger in a small boat. Crossing an ocean in a 50 foot boat is an adventure, crossing an ocean in a 30 foot boat is a big adventure. Good luck.
As a member of an older generation, this episode affirmed my decision to become a subscriber and patron of your channel. You guys broke your backs upgrading your boat (the episodes of your redoing the deck were exhausting just to watch). Your very hard work and dedication was truly impressive! Its clear that you guys never do anything half way. You would have been more than justified in holding out for the highest price that you could, but your priority was finding someone who you felt would do the most right by your beloved vessel. You deliberately accepted far less of a sum than you could have. Truly amazing and refreshing in this day and age, and in a country where greed has become almost institutionalized (though you had definitely earned the right to ask for more). And Luci was truly a fine boat. Fairly or unfairly, most people your ages are perceived as wanting more, more, more, and now, now, now. I work with a few; generally it's a pleasure, but there are those moments. You two are truly inspiring, in that you're cut from a very unique mold.. While I say go for it, as far as marching to the beat of your own drum, I have to give you props--that your relationship is strong enough that you could not only share a space as small (to me) as Luci's, but that you're actually wanting to move into something smaller! I could never do it. More power to you! I really respect your values, and your integrity. You're not only a very nice couple, but you're clearly plain old (figuratively speaking) good folks. It's uplifting to know that there are people like you in the world. Stay safe.
Terry T it’s just as uplifting to know people like you are out there as well. This was one of the most touching comments we’ve read since starting this. Can’t say how much reading comments like these help with continuing to share our journey. We really accredit the way we view money to frugality & minimalism. Also, I (Ryan) almost lost my brother at 17 years old to a traumatic brain injury and best friend to stage 4 cancer at 21 which has drastically altered the way I view relationships. Thanks for joining the crew. We’re both excited to get to know you better!
Interesting you are downsizing. I thought you were crazy doing all that deck work way back when you started?! ;-) Maybe it's a good thing I have been sailing and working on my 20' boat for 16 years. I'm only now looking at 27' boats with 3'-6" or less draft now for a possible upgrade. Bigger can seem safer but not when the water is thin that's for sure. Love the Falmouths and Flickas... I can't touch that price range though. I'll make do with a Compac 27 or Seaward 27. I don't plan to cross oceans anyway, just to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Best of luck to you both and your New Old Boat!
9:15 ... that was touching. I still remember the first few videos of you guys looking for a boat and how Lucy seemed to have appeared at the perfect moment. All the best with the new boat.
That was incredibly touching. You showed a very deep and compassionate side which was lovely. And also the way you two relate. I wish you all the best with your new yacht and please keep posting your vlogs.
I lived on a Morgan 382 for 8 years. It is true that a smaller boat can be built just as seaworthy as a larger boat. The extra space on Lucy-1 could have been used for extra supplies & spare parts for long crossings, but given your goals, I think you guys made the right decision. You will take a hit in speed though, and I really hope Lucy-2 doesn't need as much work! Good luck guys. We're all pulling for you!
Frankly, i'm surprised that you 2 + 1 actually sailed the HR 32 away from the Florida coastline; I figured it was sort of mostly moored dockside while the varied wonderlusts tucked at your imaginations. If I could have bought leap "puts" on you never making it to the Bahamas I woulda been ITM big time Sailing to Cuba was a very "romantic" fantasy but a fantasy nonetheless. What is the expediency with living you 2 seem to be drawn so quickly to? That HR32 could have been a great platform for long distance sailing if you could have calmed your "get there itis".
I think one of them doesn’t enjoy sailing / passages. They did one two week cruise and then immediately sold the boat. Then they thought they could evolve the channel into general travelling to keep the sweet patreon money but that went down like a lead balloon. I don’t believe they’ll ever cruise. This channel is a lot of talking about eventually doing something while nothing actually happens. The internet can be cruel but they really are coming across as scammers. His app is interesting as well as it basically looks like a mechanism to skim money off students that they could be using to pay off their student loans.
Great video guys! This is Michael with the Mariner 39 center cockpit (originally Proud Gypsea, now named "Sienna Skye" after our two kids )you guys were looking at in the beginning of your journey. We have spent a lot of time refitting her and are now selling her and are going to downsize as well. I think it takes some time living aboard to realize that you don't need as much boat as the current sailing culture leads you to believe. We wish you the best and look forward to more of your videos! Fair winds you two, your videos are an inspiration.
Was not expecting this, Luci seem like the perfect size boat for you guys, but you have to follow your heart, we are also downsizing, my girlfriend has been offered a teaching position at Vanderbilt University in Nashville so we no longer need a 65 foot catamaran, we well be 9 months in Nashville and 3 months in Key West, we just purchased a Dana 24, its a great little boat with an enormous cabin, and its blue water capabilities are amazing, for us only being on her 3 months in the summer, it well be perfect. I'm going to miss the Cat, but not going to miss all the maintenance, good luck to both of you and Kelsey I hope your feeling better.
Hi guys, whether the best choice is a smaller boat or the same as Luci it doesn’t matter. Your choices in life shape who you are and where you end up and it’s all about what is right for you both at this very moment. Everything might change in 5 years and I’m sure you want it to otherwise life gets boring. Best wishes to you both and safe sailing. Will and Boo
Wow downsizing? The first time I've heard anyone doing this! Everyone goes up in size! You sold proven Yacht for cheap for a possible nightmare! You did Abandon Comfort!
At least you are self aware enough to know what you need. Good luck with the new boat, it looks beautiful. BTW it already has a fantastic name, shame to change it.
Congrats guys! Talk about a shocker! I understand and applaud you both for staying true to your dreams. Loved your boat and sorry to see her go but anxious to see the new one and continue to follow y’all on your adventures!
Can't wait to see the new boat! Congratulations... and thank you for sharing your journey with us. Looking forward to the next chapter. Fair winds and following seas!
I'm still a little surprised you sold the boat, after all the work you put in... And, that you never really got much time to sail her. I hope the oceans don't kick your behind in whatever small size boat you get...
Interesting decision - but I'm still not understanding why the move to a smaller boat when all the logic I hear from other channels and sailors is that the smaller the boat the less appropriate for open ocean; the harder the sail; the more uncomfortable; the more personal space issues occur..if its financial bind thats understandable but unfortunate - seems a shame after all the hard work to sell so quickly - if its a millenial view that "I'm really an eco-warrior and I'll be saving the panet" by some sort of misguided Marie Kondo decluttering perspective then thats a little naive - as 15-20 less metres of boat won't really change anything..but if I'm missing anything let me know and we do have to find our own paths so all power to you..just seems a little sad and bewildering..
JoeTheLion60 we’ll have more episodes going in depth on our reasons. Yes, it was partially financial but from a long term perspective. It’s funny how this myth of bigger boats = more seaworthiness is so prevalent on UA-cam. Our new boat has both a better capsize ratio & motion to comfort ratio. If space is causing issues in a relationship then you probably shouldn’t be together with your spouse. And who cares if we want to reduce our environmental impact? Call us eco-warriors or whatever the hell you want, this is simply us following our values and nothing else.
Abandon Comfort I see you have been doing your reading about boats and sea worthiness. Good to see. People believing the bigger the safest, don't know much about boats
Wow! A bigger boat is not a myth but a fact! The motion will tell you right off! Reduce environmental impact? Really? No more toilet paper? People cross oceans in 24 foot boats that are Sea Worthy! What fun!
I know that wasn't easy, but I believe it was the right decision. You learned fairly early on that it was more boat than you needed. You evaluated your needs, making those a priority over your wants. Brilliant. And I was even more impressed that you made her new ownership a priority over the Almighty Dollar. That is karma that Mother Ocean will give back to you over and over. Looking forward to your further adventures!
Remod NC thank you! Prioritizing values over $ is what frugality is all about to us. Excited to share new Luci with you and thanks for being with us from the beginning!
I think this is really amazing. Luci has been your home, and it warms my heart to know you guys took the time to find her good people who will love her like you did. And I'm looking forward to your next adventure.
Great news ... it's never fun leaving something behind you have invested time, money and emotion in but look forward and the future might just hold something wonderful in store for you. All the best to the three of you and I can't wait to see what you picked out!
Congrats Ryan & Kelsey on your next step on your amazing journey! Sad to see Luci go after all the hard work you put in but I can't wait to see your new boat en all your adventures with it. Does she need a lot of work? I really love your spirit and enthusiasm for low footprint living on a sailboat. Very inspirational!
What a beautiful journey you've had so far, honored to have been able to witness the love you've poured into Luci I. Looking forward to your upcoming adventures!
Great episode thank you for sharing the experience with us some of us may never experience this adventures but at least we get to see some of it with you good luck with finding new boat!!
Brave but good decision. Don't stop sailing though whatever you do. We also recently changed boats and have no regrets. For us it was an upgrade yet still only 35 ft. Can't wait to see new adventures!
I continue to be impressed with you both and your approach to life. Best of luck with all you do going forward. How impressive to part ways with your boat especially after that teak deck replacement!! wow
Wow, congratulations I can’t wait to see your new boat. The folks you sold the Rassy to are very lucky you gold plated it for them. I love your videos; they are honest, transparent chronicles of your life and adventures. It’s so great to see the relationship that you had with the previous and new owners. I bought an Endeavor 32 the same vintage as your friends from Learning the Lines last year and it was not as pleasant an experience. The boat is in pretty good shape. Thankfully we don’t have to go through the refit that your friends are doing. However, it would’ve been nice to be able to maintain a friendship with the previous owner but that was not to be. We’re feeling our way with it. I’m coming back to sailing after a 25 year hiatus and I’m now introducing my wife and three boys to the sport. Keep up the great work with your videos and best of luck with your new boat.
I'm a super fan of small and simple. My largest boat so far has been only 23 feet. Won't go over 30 on the next one. Once we lived 10 weeks on a 19 foot boat while sailing coastal FL.
It's a brave move. Do what you want to get what you want out of this life. I'm enjoying the series and watching your journey. Looking forward to the next boar. Fair winds!
Well, i can't say i'm surprised just disappointed we didn't end up with luci !! super happy for you kids. if its meant to be it will be. keep chasing the dream. fair winds AC.
You did a good job on flipping her. A smaller boat might be just what you need. Hope your travels are safe. A lot has been done on smaller vessels. Will love seeing what you do with the next one! Plus smaller is always easier to sell in the future if dreams change.
Don't think the dream will change! We could've just went into a tiny house or van after this but we both know this is what we want to do. It's a ton of work but it's worth it :)
A couple of things, got a cat named Luci , I’ve downsized from a 30 to a 25 , easier to single-hand and maintain, if you outgrow your new home you can always upsize a little. Congratulations on your new adventures I’m looking forward to seeing your new chapter.
Can't wait to see the new boat! You guys poured heart and soul into Lucy and shows. Especially on your faces when you finally got to take the trip down to Dry Tortugas! My only regret (for you and me both) is that we missed out on opportunity to buy her! Lucy#1 would have been great for the three of us!
Can't help wonder though why you guys did not at least give it a bit more time to make such a big decision on selling your HR 35' after all the refit work, effort, and sweat and $ put in, and made an ocean crossing with her. Just seems like the perfect or "adequate size" for a couple and a dog to sail around the world on. Hope that your next boat ticks all the boxes (they never do though do they ! always compromises ), and are successful in finding a suitable replacement albeit smaller vessel that will handle long passage making with some relative comfort but more importantly with the space required for provisioning, supplies, parts etc. Just hard to not imagine you guys and the cute dog not getting the snot kicked out of you on an ocean passage when the weather doesn't match the grib files or the predict wind planning, and your out there in a fully provisioned and stocked
Has been an excellent adventure watching you two and then three with Luci, Looking forward to when you will share Lucidity with us ! Fair winds and following seas !
Congratulations looking forward to seeing your new boat. I have been looking at boats for decades. When I had the money the life commitments held me back. Now those commitments are gone as is my money and health. I'm looking much smaller and more simple kind of boat. I watched ming ming and ming ming 2 construction and voyages. I'm sorry I'm horrible with names. I can't remember his name. But ming ming has brought me to wanting a junk rigged small cork in the ocean kind of boat rather then a a tractor that plows through the ocean kind of boat. Gotta find what's right for you. We will see maybe one day if I'm lucky we will see each other out there .
As someone that is currently debating the proper size boat for my next upgrade, I'm finding this to be a very interesting topic. I currently own a 19 foot daysailer, but I'm wanting to do a lot more cruising in the future and so was debating exactly a 35 foot boat vs a smaller pocket cruiser. I absolutely see the benefit to finding the smallest/cheapest boat the fits your needs. At the same time I wonder what it would be like to have guests come to visit, or to attempt a long crossing with a pocket cruiser? I look forward to seeing your thoughts about the new boat after a few trips. :-)
If you have about 3 weeks of provisions on any boat you should be good sailing around the world as you can restock. I want to be stocked up for anything. That is not possible, so go forth and do the best you can given what you have to work with. I think there are a few people that want you to fail because if you succeed they see it as a loss for them.
For me, your HR is a perfect size for two (maybe a wee bit small), but it's your dream, not mine. I hope you don't come to regret letting go of such a lovely and seaworthy boat and downsizing so much, but I guess you'll never know unless you do it. Good luck!
Guys, great video! Size and complexity are not always synonymous with fun. We had the privilege of meeting and chatting with Lyn and Larry Pardey at a boat show when we were starting our restoration of our WS42 Harmony. They have been sailing idols for us since their first books. Lyn made us promise that we would always strive to have fun! Follow your dreams and sail on the vessel that fits your life's principles and goals! Your footprints in life will always be larger than they will be in the environment! Kudos! Fair winds from Doug on WS42 Harmony
Douglas Tate their book the Self-Sufficient Sailor was a major catalyst for us making the move. Them and omick.net (crossed Pacific engineless with sweeps for auxiliary power). It was weird we never found any sort of cruising mentors that fit the bill for us and then found both of them the same week. Love your tanbarks btw 🙂
Smart choice for you!!! I'm retired and want my first boat, it's on John Vigor's list...On his 2nd circumnavigation, James Baldwin sailed from Ft. Lauderdale to China w/o an engine --- he was towed thru Panama Canal by some generous sailors. He sailed a Pearson 28 and has done amazing/unique, 'one of a kind', small boat refits for years in Brunswick, GA as CYS company...
Awesome to see where your heading. Someone once said, money aside, a true sailor wants to ensure her new owners will care for her well. When one chapter closes, a new more exciting chapter opens. Best of luck and look forward to your new direction.
Sea Travel Thanks! Making sure she was going to a good home was most important to us. Just want to make sure someone else is carrying on Jim’s legacy with the Swedish gal 😀
Can't believe you sold the boat after all the work you did on it. Hope you recovered all your costs including all the improvements and labor involved. Haven't seen you new boat, hope she works well for you.
If you plan on long journeys in your new boat, I would think twice before not having a diesel back up power. All it takes is about a week of no sun do to overcast and low winds and you will be stranded at where ever. Lots of places don't have the set up to recharge your battery banks , where diesel can be transported in Gerry cans. I to believe in saving fossil fuel but have to also realize that the weather can play havoc on the battery recharge.
I've got that book! Love this seeing it on here. Hope one day I can test it's advise like you guys... Had kidney stones too I've felt your pain. Good luck!
WOW the Hallberg Rassy 35 is an awesome boat ,,, I happen to have a Cheoy Lee 28 Luders offshore drop keel , 3 1/2 foot draft and 6 1/2 foot when keel is down ,, teak deck , only 377 sq. foot of sail , she's a great little ship , perfect for me ,,,
Good luck with the new boat! With all the time spent getting Luci ready to cruise I’m sure this was a tough decision. Life is all about leaps of faith!
Did you join the Flicka club?!?! We're in the middle of refitting ours - Still have some more work before we get her in the water. Welcome to the small boat club.
Did I miss something? Did you do anything on this boat apart from work on it? Buy another boat and work on that. Are you planning on actually sailing on an open ocean one day?
All the work you put into Luci and the experiences you gained in sailing her will serve you in good stead with Luci II. Solid decision and, amazingly enough, it only has to be the best decision for you two. Now, if you pop a San Juan 23 on us in the next episode (not that there is anything wrong with a SJ ; just not off shore material) we might be talking a Captain’s Mast in the near future. Ha! Can’t wait to see the boat you have decided to make your new home. I always wanted a Pacific Seacraft Flicka...
You will be pleasantly surprised! Can't go from an HR to a SJ haha. We got very close to buying a Flicka in pristine shape for 30k but realized their sailing performance is pretty terrible. The blunt bow doesn't work too well and it's motion to comfort/capsize ratios are really bad. New Luci has better ratios than the HR did ;)
I have nothing but well wishes for you all, but I will lovingly tell you that I don’t agree with getting rid of that HB. Electric propulsion is not all it’s cracked out to be, nor is the manufacture of advanced batteries as ecologically neutral as many are duped into believing. Sailing is all about balance and trade offs, like any other endeavor. I think the 35 foot boat WAS the balance because it gave you a water line length to do true 150 nm days in strong winds while able to be singlehanded. If you ever decide to adventure into the arctic (something I want to do with my 37) the extra room you don’t need now will become a necessity for stowage of life-essential gear. You may fancy yourself as sailors who don’t need a yanmar diesel, but the 5-10 miles maximum that you will get from electric propulsion might not suffice if you have a rigging failure out there in the world’s most unforgiving environment- biodiesel is a great alternative to petrodiesel and offers no compromises in performance or reliability. There are those who feel an ocean shouldn’t be crossed with less than 40 or 45 feet. Those tubs get mighty difficult to singlehand. That’s why I feel the extremely well designed 33-38 foot boats are the right balance for the long distance adventurer. In the end, we all must try to follow our own convictions, and I’ll continue to support you in doing so even if it departs from my own goals of splashing a steel 37 foot antique. Fair winds and following seas.
WOW ! from the UK. You guys are uniquely special and wonderful. Selling for less $ because the boat 'fits' with the new owners better. Kindness. Very inspiring to watch. I REALLY hope this channel takes off for you AND for others BECAUSE we can all learn how to be a little kinder to others. If you still want advice about video quality (you asked once) I have only ONE suggestion: I would suggest a microphone ? The Captains Bar was a bit echo-y. The visual quality and editing etc is superb. I have watched lots of vlogs and sailed a fair bit, but I only watch you guys now. Did you ever wire up the anchor light I sent to you? Anyway, get better Kelsey (can't they shatter kidney stones with ultrasound or something these days?). Hope it is not too painful anyway. Keep doing what you guys are doing; living the dream. Thank you.
Appreciate the kind words and thanks for being a viewer from the beginning! We still have the anchor light. Kept her as a backup for the old gal. We'll probably be using it for the new boat and if so you'll know!! Thanks again for the support, means the world to us both.
Kelsey, you made me cry too! Been watching you two from the start, oops Rue too! (HE IS SO HANDSOME) Can't wait to see where your adventures take you. I'll be watching. CHEERS!
I certainty wondered from some of your comments if this was going to happen. I hope you are going to amaze me with your choice of new boat.i think it should be a small performance Trimarian , small interior , sailing performance ,lightly treading on the world, ...but somehow I don't think so (see 'sailing trimaran sprit' for the general idea, but this is larger) cheers warren.
Drink water water water, I’ve had them and they hurt... good pain pills.. but lots of water will make the pass faster.. but you all ready knew that.. stay safe have fun
I went from a 19 foot boat with small cabin to a 25 foot boat to a 30 footer.. my 30 foot boat had no forepeak..but thats where main salon was..an enclosed head and a queen sized berth under the cockpit. Had a Yanmar sail drive so that meant all mechanicals were aft. The issue was that all the weight was in the beam ends of the boat. I had a large fresh water tank under the main salon seats in the bow.. in light air the boat tended to hobby horse a bit.. so u kept the large rank empty and used a smaller one i put into the starboard side. I had the boat for 20 years and she never let me down... no secrets in boat building... its a give and take. My builder was a volume builder so prevelant in early 80's.. quality is most important..
Books mentioned in this episode:

You can't get me suckers. I bought that book 3 days ago. Haha
Haha, which one?? I'm curious if we have any stoic followers or not :)
Twenty Small Sailboats to Take You Anywhere. I'm hunting my own home thanks to it.

Terry T it’s just as uplifting to know people like you are out there as well. This was one of the most touching comments we’ve read since starting this. Can’t say how much reading comments like these help with continuing to share our journey. We really accredit the way we view money to frugality & minimalism. That explains much. I respect you all the more in that you've given tribute to your brother and friend by growing, and giving. Stay true, brother.
Interesting you are downsizing. I thought you were crazy doing all that deck work way back when you started?! ;-) Maybe it's a good thing I have been sailing and working on my 20' boat for 16 years. One word. "Inspired". You two are making hard choices but they are the right ones for you. Be safe and you always have a fan here.

Way to go guys. Now you really live up to the name of your channel and it becomes more interesting for me to follow you.
A very bittersweet moment. I'm hoping your next boat is as good as this one was. I'm anxiously awaiting the new arrival! Good luck!!
Best of luck! Can't wait to see your experience with the next boat. I hope we have such informative sellers when we purchase our first boat .
You actually never sailed this boat! This is a huge mistake!
Good luck with the next boat. Hard to see you let your first go, so much sweat and tears but I'm sure the next phase will be just as rewarding.
Great episode!! I paused at 10:36 went to my bookshelf and I have had that book there for 10+ years! Looking forward to further adventures of LUCII
BTW it already has a fantastic name, shame to change it.
masochism
Small Boats will kick your A at Sea!
sorry dude but I would have kept a beautiful Halberg Rassey 36 !
Congrats guys! Talk about a shocker! I understand and applaud you both for staying true to your dreams. Loved your boat and sorry to see her go but anxious to see the new one and continue to follow y’all on your adventures!
Well, we tried to give a little warning back in episode 30! But yes, a shocker nonetheless. New boat will be a shocker too - in a good way :)
Sweet can’t wait for more
Can't wait to see the new boat!
Its never easy saying goodbye. I look forward to sharing in your next step. Congratulations on making a decision. You two are a marvellous team.
Abandon Comfort there are so many other more factors making a boat seaworth than its size
ua-cam.com/video/0jsPOlg7Ovc/v-deo.html Size isn't eveything
That's a final boat. That boat will take you everywhere.
Thank you, Eric :) New boat needs about the same amount of work as the old boat did. Won't take as long though because she's a lot smaller!
the perks of going smaller... :-)
Totally teared up a little bit! Glad to see the next adventure is already upon you guys.
The lessons learned from Lucy are the seeds for your next journey. Fair winds.
That was a great first boat and you two did some great work on her. Ready to see the next chapter in this story.
How impressive to part ways with your boat especially after that teak deck replacement!! wow
Looking forward to following the next adventure.
So why are you selling the boat that you worked so hard on?
Fair winds!
Thank you :) We're stoked to share our new gal with you!
I understand the tears after you two have put your heart and soul into Lucci... I look forward to the next boat adventures and dreams.🏴⛵️
You guys are the best....I have followed you from the start and look forward the videos...Keep up the good work.
A couple of things, got a cat named Luci , I’ve downsized from a 30 to a 25 , easier to single-hand and maintain, if you outgrow your new home you can always upsize a little. Congratulations on your new adventures I’m looking forward to seeing your new chapter.
Congratulations looking forward to seeing your new boat.
I can't watch anymore...
Change is all part of the adventure. Look forward to following it with you
very sad to leave such a beautiful boat hope you fulfill your dreams with your new boat
I have that book, great book and helped me find my first real cruising boat! Best of luck with the new boat!
It's a great one!
Awwww. Good luck with the next boat. Keep sailing!
So the adventure continues!! Looking forward to seeing Lucii ll. Thanks for letting us tag along!!
Thanks for supporting the dream! New Luci will not disappoint :)
I know you won’t be sailing the Great Lakes anytime soon. But if you guys are ever near Chicago let us know we will take you out on the town!!
So ...ISLAND PACKET 27 ......With an enclosed cockpit. I love them.....
Best of luck with the new adventure!!!!
Same adventure just a different vessel :) Thanks!!
Abandon Comfort can’t wait to see this new beautiful lady!!!
I to believe in saving fossil fuel but have to also realize that the weather can play havoc on the battery recharge.
how long did you own that sailboat? i think you said you lived on it for a year or so at demens landing in st pete. 2-3 years?
wow, talk about principles! God speed... really enjoy following you guys.
Baring My Soul thanks so much for the support!!
Respectfully, I just don't get it.
same.
millennial :)
ditto
She gets sea sick. He is a hustler. What’s to get?
Congrats on your decision to sell her. Kelsey just about had me in tears too! Looking forward to the next episode!
The start of a new adventure. I can't wait to see your videos on your new boat. God bless, be safe & have fun.
Bittersweet for sure. She'll always be a fond memory for you both. I definitely had man tears watching Kelsey. Gentle sails, Luci!
I've got that book! Love this seeing it on here. Hope one day I can test it's advise like you guys... Had kidney stones too I've felt your pain. Good luck!
Cant wait to see the new boat and setup.
Downsizing from a 35' HR?
Omg all that teak work.
And never again! Well, teak yes but no more deck work.
Teak is a bad idea in the tropics with the heat. Very hot deck. Plus all the maintenance
That's the truth!
Ahhhh - such a sad episode but also happy for your continuing adventures and that you found her a good home.
growingknowledge thanks for the kind words & support!!
Good luck with the new boat!
Great episode. I love your philosophy. So few ever step down to a smaller boat so well done indeed! Can't wait to see the new boat!
ScubaTony Anschutz thanks!! You’ll see her soon 🙂
I feel like this is a sail boat refit channel, not a sailing channel.
Sailboat flip
One year later you have your answer
Who the hell is chopping onions. Oh man you guys. Beautiful episode and beautiful boat. Looking forward to the next chapter of sailing with you guys ♡
Catherine Janes haha! We’re excited to show off the new gal 🙂
I don’t get why people have downvoted your great videos.
What a deal!!!!! This is God sent to the buyers
Kelsey, you made me cry too! Been watching you two from the start, oops Rue too! (HE IS SO HANDSOME) Can't wait to see where your adventures take you. I'll be watching. CHEERS!
Can't wait to see the new boat :)
Enjoy your videos and am looking forward to your new adventures in your new boat..all the very best!
Thanks for the kind words & support John!
Well done! Fair winds and following seas on your new home.
Thank you, Don!
shad not a tear, in the memories, lost long ago. but look forward too the lines too the future. fair winds.
Why is a bigger boat so bad? It wasn't that big. You do not HAVE to use the extra space.
