"Come watch the television with us," your friends tell you in Italian. Since they spoke in Italian, you answer in the same, "Why, what's so important to watch?" "The launch," they reply in Italian. "Don't you know about the launch?" "What launch? Is it a boat? A new vacation cruise ship?" They all look at you as if you were a little off. Of course, your friends are all very savvy in technology, but you're not, so you get those kinds of looks often. "The rocket launch," they say, "Don't you know the Italian Space Agency is launching a rocket today?" You didn't even know Italy had a space agency. "They're televising the launch, and we all want to watch it. Come with us. It'll be great." Well, they are your friends, so you decide to go along. At least the picture on the television is a really good one. You can see every detail of the rocket as you watch the final moments before the countdown. Countdown! Now you can hear the announcer count down in Italian, "Ten, nine,..." Amazing! You can understand every word of the Italian countdown!

I think that one of the main reasons why Italian sounds so good is because (almost) any word ends with a vowel

On my opinion it's how you move your tongue and lips
On how to hear the sound of words then analyse it's sound and then that's how you practice saying words
Like in Spanish and Italian sound kinda alike

I learned Spanish in school and learning Italian is made easier by that because of the similar sounding/spelling words in a lot of cases, but then its easy to confuse the two because my brain wants to say the Spanish.

No need to read this if you already speak Italian, Latin or French. As rolling 'Rs' is everyday and very easy to you. It is only for those with difficulty to make it easy for those.
How to say, tre and Quattro for English speaking beginners.
To say them properly you need to use a 'rolled R'. Sometimes also called a 'trilled R'.
Try not to say: Oringe. But say O-Range where the Range does not sound like range as in Rangerover but like the shortened Ange as in Angie (Girls name (Also song by the Rolling Stones)). So once you are saying. Ange. Place the 'R' in front to form Rànge. Notice the accent on the 'a'. Say it, so it sounds like English 'Ran'. So you can say 'Oran' 'Oran' Oran' Oran'. Then add the 'ge' ending to Oran' to form 'ORàn-ge.
If it still comes out like 'Oringe'. Then you need to try again or go to lesson 1A for failiurs.
      Lesson 1A for failiurs.
Say: 'Tangier' as in the country name 'Tangier'. Repeat abount 5 to 10 times or more if required.
      Tangier
Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier Tangier,
Now remove the 'Ear' of Tangier and say Tange. But again say it accenting the 'A' as in Tànge (Sounding like the Girls name Ange). So Ànge with an T in front to form Tànge.
So it shound sound like Tange as in 'tangerine'.
So repeat saying untill you can say 'Tange' (As in Tangire or Tangerine).
Tange, tange, tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange tange etc. Now at any time once you are good at repeat saying. Tange. Switch the 'T' with an 'R' and continue repeating RÀnge, rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge rànge.
Once you have 'Rànge' perfected. Place the 'O' in front to form 'Orànge'.
Your pronunciation of Orange is now closer to French and Latin based pronunciations. Which is one step closer to pronuncing Tre and Quattro. Now repeat saying: The car's name 'Audi Quattro, Audi Quattro, Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro. Think of the car. Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro, Do not look in to my eyes. You are not being hypnotised. But visualize the car Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro. Now say the car's name with out the Manufacturer's name 'Audi'. The type of Audi is the Audi Quattro. So repeat saying the car's type name. Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro. So now you are saying the car's type name. But it is the same pronunciation as the number four in Italian. So you are now almost prefect.
Do not think about it or analyze it. Just say it. Audi Quattro Audi Quattro Audi Quattro, Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Audi Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
The thinking and analysis has already been done. So the exercise is saying Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
      Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
      Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
      Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
      Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
If at any time you start saying: Catroe, Cat-ro, Cattrow, Cat-row. Think of the car and revert to Quattro. The Audi Quattro. Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
      Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
      Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
      Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
      Quattro Quattro Quattro Quattro.
Dat wa some hi-class trendy gobspeak 4 ems with Latin articulation deficiency. Trainning by word association. 'It's a bit of the old: une deux trois, Rodney'. 'Service on a tray!'.
Wah? What ya mean Del? 'Service on a Tray?'. Well the French don't serve drinks on a tray. They use a platter. We use a tray for our drinks or food. Just like in the Kebbaby ya get Kebabs in a tray. But in France La Service est dan une platteux. 'Or 'kebab en platter''. Platteux just means 'Flato'. It's the same thing. But ere we say, 'Tray'.
'Well sometimes I just don't get you one bit. Del'.
Del replys, Well what if you want a round of 5 drinks 'n' crisps, Rodney? You only have two hands. So you use a tray'. If you wanted three drinks. You ask for 'trois' in France and they deliver en une plateux. But in Rome or Italy they don't say: 'Trois', cos that's French. The Itallies say. 'Tray'. So. Instead of Une deux trois, IE numerical 'ABC'. You get 'Tray on a platta. Or a tray on a plate. Cos the Flato, platteux is a plate. A large oblong plate with sides in English is a tray not a plate. And Italian for plate is platta not plateux. So three drinks on a platta in Italian is: 'tray on a platta'. Cos tray is an Italian three. Don't worry about the spelling 'trè'. That's Italian. This isn't a spelling lesson. It's pronunciation. Uno, due, tray. So now you know your first three Italian numbers. One two three. Uno due tray. Add the Audi Quattro. And you get une, due, tray quattro. Simple. 'Service on a Tray', Rodney.
      'Oh right Del'.

There are a few factors in teaching yourself to speak Italian easily . A resource I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Hartlyn Language Lessons (look for it on google) without a doubt the best treatment i've heard of. Check out the super info

brainman67 I see what youre saying. The difference is that for ''cinque'', the C sounds closer to an S. Like in spanish, the C sometimes sounds like an S.... at the beginning of a word.
