live in destin, if you set up the right rig pull over on the bridge across from the harbor district, the bridge has crap tons of bait fish across norrieggo point, jetty's across from norrieggo point as well
Would you say its better than the west jetty, or just leas crowded? I used to gish the east jetty when i was stationed there. I never ventured out on the west one
@@TheLawlessTide boo. Thanks for the reply. I just found your channel, and it's a trip down memory lane. Great work! I especially enjoy the honks and bloopers. I can totally relate. What's a fishing trip without several missed bites, tangles, and a little blood?
I had the most luck on the ole standby Gotcha with a chartreuse head, and a silver casting spoon for the Spanish. Those damn hardheads would hit a paperclip with a hook attached I think. Im sure a 3/4 ounce pink, white, or chartreuse ducktail jig would kill it there. I've talked to guys that have caught Kings, Mahi, and Bonita off that tip.
Max Townley I was having the most luck with the hard tails on a small 1/4 oz silver spoon. I was actually targeting Spanish but those dang hard tails wouldn’t let the Spanish hardly get close to it, lol.
The Lawless Tide I’m going this Thursday and would like to catch live bait and rig up some lines on my heavy duty Penn. think I should fish bottom with cut bait or live top water ?
Max Townley depending on what Hurricane Michael does, I would think swimming out some live bait would kill it this time of year. There definitely should be some Bull reds around there and no telling what else. Almost always some sharks there to catch to. Good luck and be safe with that hurricane coming.

I was looking for people who explore jetties, thank you for sharing .
Your welcome, thanks for watching.
I live in destin and want to start fishing the surf instead of kayak all the time. This video helped a ton. Thanks
Glad I could help! Good luck.
You live in Destin? I hope you realize how lucky you are.

That’s some tough fishing! Lol. Hell, I’m 61, and the east jetty is more than I care to tackle!
Beach and piers for me!
I dont blame you at all. I feel that way too a lot
A good friend of mine makes schischimi with hard tails and bonita. He swears if you bleed them they taste just like a tuna.
We’ve prepared Bonita that way before. Pretty good!
Dang Bro, that was some hike.
next time ur back, lets do this again! i want to go bro
30milesOut I’m in! Let’s do it.
I don't think I would have walked to the end on all those rocks....good job though sean
Thanks!
Hardtail, aka blue runner are delicious bro I’d take them over bluefish any day. Spanish are better though
Rodent Fisherman haven’t tried them yet, but I plan on it.
It's nice fishing out there, but that walk though...
Yeah, it’s brutal but your almost guaranteed to have it to yourself.
I've fished the east jetty a few times. I would like to fish the west jetty but my family would not be able to keep up.
pizzamon 79 yeah, it’s not an easy place to fish!
nice fishing spot bro..
I’ve snorkeled right where your fishing before
Must’ve caught a slack tide, cause when I’ve been there the current was rippin’
The Lawless Tide I think it was on another side because it’s usually more rough on one side
Live pinfish on the bottom towards the channel, outgoing tide, and hold on tight.
Thanks man, headed back out there Monday, I’ll give that a shot.

Parking for west jetty was shut down a couple years ago

The Lawless Tide I will have to go out there when I get there next month
The Bearded Okie I really need to get there when the tide switches to outgoing, should be popping off! We will be there in mid August.
The Lawless Tide I will be there at the end of August in to the first week of September
The Lawless Tide Ggccc
What were you using to catch the bait fish ? It didn't look like a sabiki?

Looks like the weather is going to clear up Thursday. I’m hoping
I’ll be down at the end of April!! Staying by jetty east! Wish me luck man haha
We might be down there then, might see ya. Good luck!
We used to visit a hotel near there every year for spring break growing up!
We were lucky enough to only be 2.5 hrs away!!!
Best spot in this whole area monsters walk along the rock in the bay part will make ur trip a lot easier don’t walk the rocks that takes a lot longer
Blake Andrew 141 thanks for the tip!
WAY too much work.
I woulda lean towards agreeing with you.
Left hand rod fished by a right hand boy. Stop doing it wrong
