So in Korea, the way to get on a taxi has changed. You can use taxi apps or near the bus stop, there are places where taxis stop. If you try to stop cab, they don't stop because it increases traffic on the road. Also, the taxi driver said, driving to the fireworks place is restricted. Stunning B rolls, Jan & Ann! You vids keep getting better. 🥰 Surprised though that you guys didn't consider the train going to the park as it is efficient and easy to learn. 😳.... and that you guys had to squeeze in some grub before the fireworks (why am I not surprised? Lol. Vestiges of Singapore! Haha). With 1.2M expected foot traffic, the best way is to always beat the crowd or go to a spot that you can get the best view and fastest way to exit. That occasion could have taken a dark turn. Glad you guys are ok!

Guys I was feeling sympathy frustration each time you mentioned your taxi Ls which seemed to happen a lot in this country, but as I'm sure someone may have told you by now: 1) many Koreans use Kakaotaxi app similar to uber. A nearby taxi from your pinned location will accept the fare and pick you up. 2) There are designated taxi stands in many places where you can only hop in at those places, not at any random street curb (like NYC). I had a taxi driver gesture to me to cross the street and wait for him there even though I was standing just two feet from his rear door. But it would've been illegal for him to let me in from there so I crossed the street, waited for him to make a U turn, and got in the car. 3) Xenophobia. Maybe at least once you could've encountered a driver who didn't want to pick up non-Koreans, but the xenophobia happens in pockets and is not systematic. It doesn't explain why you so often had drivers pass you by. My best guess is you weren't standing at designated pick up spots.

12:35 not sure if this is a regular occurrence but would be better to whisper in situations like this as other passengers will get seriously annoyed with talking in the subway. Looks like the guy with the baseball cap on the right starting to get a lil peeved. And I highly recommend Google Translate or Papago for translating with your camera. And also using it for verbal communication (speaking into the phone and playing it back in Korean to them), as it shows that you're making an effort and people are mode than happy to oblige. Glad you had fun.

Hey there, thanks so much for watching! We appreciate your comments :) Just to clarify a few things: We always use our low voices when on the subway, it just sounds like we aren't because we have a mic attached to our camera! In fact, we actually had to edit and turn up the audio on that part because our voices were TOO low. And don't worry we weren't disturbing those around us! The guy in the baseball cap was actually wearing earphones so it was impossible for him to hear us. And finally, we had a translator app with us at all times where we play it in Korean for them. It was just never shown in our vlogs! Thanks again for your support! ☺️

To enjoy the night view of Hangang Park as well as the fireworks display---
Go early around noon to find the best spot to avoid the crowds. Also, people usually bring their camping mat, dinner and drinks.
