I don’t think anyone who leaves mess like that can claim to love the countryside. Shame it’s happening more and more. There were more messy camps that I didn’t include in the video
The Annalong wood crossing is interesting. 😂 the route we followed almost exactly matches the Mourne Wall route on the Harvey Maps Mournes map. But the OSNI map goes down to the road
I have that same Lord of the Rings scene/epic tune in my mind every time I summit Binnian or Bernagh. Must be something to do with the rocks leading up an awesome vista.
Stunning scenery & great filming & editing, well done! Love the screams too, I would have been screaming most of the way, that wind looked awful! Though the wind did prove useful for disposing of the banana skin…🍌😺
Good work man.applogies for previous drunkin bollacks, trying to keep her between the hedges tonight .Really need to tick this one off the list. How heavy your tent when wet, would u use it over multiple days. Going down the rabbit hole of tents/tarps that dont absorb water. Dear stuff, santa is coming 😁😁
Haven’t weighed it when wet. But I’m guessing it’s probably up to 500grams heavier. Yeah I’d happily use it over multiple days if it was a lightweight trip. It’s probably the best hiking pole tent for £125. But the Lanshan 1 my friend has, is maybe better and not too much more money.
Just got in had some dinner and guess who pops up Paul messner the one and only, or is he fake.anyway them too videos of you too walking in that wind and rain , I'll take my hat off to you both, for actually finishing . because I think I know that I would need my mum asap.great to video's Stephen. See you soon Alan ⛺💯👍👍
Yeah it’s a tricky one. Have to cross a gate, a field, two walls, climb down to river, cross river, cross a road into a forest, climb a wall into a field, walk up field, climb back into forest, up a lane, over a style and climb back up to the wall. I think that’s why most just go down to the road and rejoin on the Seefins
brilliant i live at the foot of slieve foy carlingford and regularly run from Ravensdale mountain to Carlingford, can't wait to to do the mournes, what route up donard would you recommend!
Looks tough. Note to self: MUST remember sponsors name.... or they won't send me any free stuff to test.... Thanks for sharing you and your mate's journey.
We wanted to camp though, I’ve done tougher distances in much less time, but this was about seeing what it was like doing with the weight and camping. 2/3 years ago I tried fastpacking it for the first time and gave up on the second day and took the short route back. Thinking I might give it a solo go on a mild day over autumn/winter and see how fast I can get around at a semi relaxed pace. Also a chance to test kit for other things currently being planned….
Watch Day 1: ua-cam.com/video/vcLeZ4wUZ4Q/v-deo.html
that looked tough! it's so painful to see all the rubbish people leave behind, especially those who purport to love the countryside....

Forget Scott & Shackleton Stephen & Colin are my heros. Im venturing there next month to continue my search for a route out of Annalong woods.

Plays on automatic when I walk past big rocks! 😂
You were taking fast packing literally with that tent lol. I’ve never actually seen that chain across the river before. Love the wind
Haha, tent stuffing. Yeah that route with the chain isn’t the easiest. 4 wall crossings, no real defined route, cows, possible trespassing
These videos are giving me a real urge to get back out in the Mournes this weekend.
That’s the idea! 🙂 just check the forecast 😂
Thanks for the adventure. 👍

Thanks Karen! I like to think those abandoned banana skins landed in a bin at the coast 😂
@@StephenJReid good job, I can’t stand bananas! 😺
Great video, the wind looks powerful. Love watching.❤❤
Thanks Alan!
Hello, thank you for the recommendation for Harrier Clothing. Just ordered a few items for my Ultra.
Oh excellent! Enjoy 🙂

That’s was really cool, great achievement
Thank you
Well done lads. Still bit confused the route to take from bottom of binnian accross annaghlong valley to join wall again.

02:00 interesting place to enter the backpack. What kind of backpack is this?
Moment Mountain light. It’s designed for photographers
@@StephenJReid Thank You.

I've never seen a banana peel enter low Earth orbit so quickly, well done
I assume the sheep are always on the outside of the wall, otherwise the wall would not serve its intended purpose, right?
You're tough!!!!
Not nearly tough enough 😂
Someone two miles away just got a banana skin in the face
Schlappppp 🍌 💨 😡
So I see Scottish have these haggis creatures and Irish lupricons (sorry not sure how it’s spelled) 😅
Leprechauns 🙂
@@StephenJReid 🙏😅
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this was Day 2 wasn't it? So why is it Day 1 in the title? Or is that an irish/leprechaun thing?
Eh? Says Day 2 😛
@@StephenJReid Yeah ... after you changed it! :-P

Haha yeah always remember the product name 😂
How did you dare to fly your drone in that wind?
Laminated cheese shouldn’t be eaten even when fresh
Honestly, just do it in one day, 10 hours does it. Forget about camping and carrying so much stuff.
