I love the idea of ideological vampires. The colony as a whole is guilty and must atone, so they pick one (of maybe a few) members to help them share that burden. The colonists willingly give their blood and service to the sanguphages, and in return they spearhead the colony's vision - completing charity quests, rescuing downed colonists with their speed and meditating on death in the temple.
The Bestower picking a fight with his guard was absolutely hilarious. I have never seen that happen, atleast not with the bestower just dying in the middle of your base lmao
A bestower once had a heart attack while doing the ceremony. That was.. definitely quite the event as well. (And looking at this guy i was wonderhing how the heck he was still alive)
You could wall of the 'vent' and have one tile without roof behind it. And you should activate the hammer symbole down right, so everything that gets destroyed in your home zone gets automatically placed again as blueprint. Except a hive is blocking the Location.
As long as there is a thin rock roof there, then it can be removed. He could always just build a small hallway leading out into an open roofed area as well considering there's enough space for that. Granted, he already has a wall surrounding the outside of his base so there isn't too much concern there.
Wyatt is a good option to become a vampire, since vampires are extremely good at melee, although you would have to take his plasma sword because of the fear to fire
The addition of the transhumanist kyle is a perfect reason for the colony to adopt the tranhumanism belief. It would give a reason to explore higher tech (including the new genetech), and fits the existing themes of the colony; redeeming the body while also redeeming the soul.
You really are selling me on Elephants. Combat, hauling and caravans! Another thought: An ideal colony would have many psychics, but only one or two Empire nobles, considering how hard it is to cater to their opulence.
I know you are very sparsely using mods and I think that is a good thing, but I really recommend the "Minimal Light Control" mod for showing a mountain base on UA-cam. Basically all it does is you can determine the light level of your recording.
Thank you for the video! Some random thoughts: - Can you install the Numbers mod, so we can see the stats in a glance? - Insects like dark caves with some buildings in them, so you can adjust the chances by placing some random pillars in those caves. On other hand in that case you will lack such a great mess fights. Especially later in the game. - Vampires would be great. It's surely the improvement which comes with a hefty price.
An Interesting direction for the cult that I thought of and hope you might see is that the cult seeks to redeem themselves of their past sins by idolising children and raising children is a way in which they can bring good back into the world. They see children as a way to replace the harm that they have done by striving to make them as pure and angelic as possible. This could play into biotech quite nicely. Just a though, thank you so much for the series Pete and thank you to all of the artists, I really enjoy your art each week :)
My vote is on Ellie becoming a sanguiphage, mainly because it would be thematically fitting for the two main features of the DLC be represented in one pawn and because she was born to sinners while not being a sinner herself.
awesome Idea! make the believers of Boyo deal with their sin by birthing a new generation of sinfree superhumans that are out to protect and care for the innocent. This should be the way of Boyo
I know everyone is going to say yes to vampires. Not saying they aren't cool or interesting given the Beliefs of Boyo, but I just want to say again that since literally every other UA-camr who has ever done a Rimworld Biotech series has gone with sanguophages it sure would be interesting to see something different than that. You do what you want to do with that Pete. Long Live Wyatt!
I would love to see Maniac, this old man, becoming vampire and stopping his slowly walk in to senile age as ultimate rejection of his past sinful life and true reborn as member of believers of Bojo.
Ideological, repenting vampires are an intriguing concept, indeed. It also makes me envision a third and final part of this trio where the group achieved redemption and becomes a techno-trascendent, drug-enhanced, human-machine enlightenment cult
Great episode! A tip for rebuilding: the grey hammer, on the bottom right menu under the speed options, sets any furniture to be automatically rebuilt after being destroyed. Sometimes I forget how I arranged a room before raiders crash in and destroy everything, but when I remember to select it, it saves a lot of time.
I don't see how vampires fit into the theme tbh, taking blood feels like anti-charity and more reason to be guilty. However, since this is step 2 of 3 of the archonexus quest, then maybe make a vampire now, who will make the new ideology and colony next time, a vampire themed run.
While I would want to see one of yours to become a vampire, I am not really convinced, that it is something followers of boyo would do. To became better, but having someone else to pay the price is not something I would think Boyos would do...
I think for the next building project you should focus on building a large and formal tomb for all those that have departed. If it's at all possible, maybe you can also put the ideology room into it (or at least connect it to it). I like the idea of vampires in the colony! It's something different, and it could make a few interesting story threads.
14:49 Brandon and Ellie communicate thoughts on tribalism. Neither of them are from the original tribal cult. "What did mommy and daddy get to do in the swamp anyway? Wow that sounds awesome, Mister Brandon!"
As much as he sometimes make mistakes, Kyle has proven himself as caring and vital to the colony, a true believer of boyo. He shall embrace the gifts of immortality.
You can remove the roof somewhere in that granite door tunnel you built to vent that cooler you built. It'll vent the hot air and you wont have to worry about opening/closing that door everytime something happens
Up to 4 coolers can vent to one square with no roof, then put a rock chunk or barricade in that square to stop drop pods. Just saying, the tunnel is superfluous.
BECOME VAMPIRE You're also going to need to make a big heated room to bait the insects so you don't have to reconstruct half your base with each infestation
🤣🤣 I love the idea of charitable vampires. I'm sure your more aware than me but you can't alter the genome of vampires or all genes gained from it are lost. Also one of your motors is under a roof..
Pete, remmeber to take time off from youtube when you can, no point driving your self to exhaustion. Also an idea, i would love to see you play x-com terror from the deep (actually make it xcom world of terrifying silence)
Charitable vampires ? I mean, in many stories and novells, they are considered nobles who watch out for people who live under them, protecting them from any threats, both as followers and easy blood source.
For the penoxycyline, it last for 14 days, if you want to save on materials and pills, you can have your colonists take them every 14 days or 13 if you want a margin of error.
As much as I want to say no to the vampire idea and just go with regular bionic transhumanism, I have to say that the idea of kind, charitable vampires is an interesting one. If you do go with it, I think you should limit your colonists to feeding only on members of your ideology. Keeping slaves as penance is one thing, but keeping them as cattle is another.
The initial idea of leaving the old tribe to repent was a good idea, but like all things in Rimworld, things get twisted and before you know it your forcing everybody to become merciful super camps.
From my point of view: When thinking about the feeling and mood of a colony I would consider Transhumanist, transcending beyond our current limits to be more of a clinic and... detached mood. Something a plains or desert colony would go for. Extracting the human from ourselves, and the colony from the world. The fact the colony currently is in a jungle biome, building into a mountain, and dealing with animals and visits constantly makes me think that Transhumanism isn't in line with the current colony. On the other hand, Sanguinophages are messier, and more involved by necessity. With both the guilty and kind memes, I would 100% say humanitarian vampires is more in line with the colony.
This playthrough is great but dear god the Biotech DLC is absurd lol. What a mess. Vampires with the immorality removed, just what the war crime simulator needed.
Yes vampires. The believers of Boyo believe themselves guilty, why should their repentance last such a short time lile a human lifespan. Surely they would like to be able to repent indefinitely so they can help more people throughout the aeons.
I'd like to see the idea of slavery dropped. It doesn't add anything thematic. If anything, if the colonists are repenting their sins, doubling down by enslaving others just makes that worse. I get that this is Rimworld, aka WarCrimesSimulator, but a well-intention group does not enslave people.
Charitable vampires? Sounds Awesome!!! (But please don't call any EDWARD or anything that relates to the twilight saga... Your Rimworld adventures are already so much more captivating, interesting and immersive than that horrible series of books!)

Grats on getting better
NOW RIMWORLD LETS GO
Great to hear you feeling better 🙂
So glad to hear that you're doing better!
May your holidays be cosy and bright!
Hey, you ever gonna do Mass Effect 1 and 2: Legendary Edition? Would love to see those games replayed with better graphics!
Even more fitting if they use the enslaved colonists for this!!
@@noanimezone3149 EVERYONE gotta atone.
@@noanimezone3149 Not in my book, using slave as blood banks is definitely the evil vampire meme,
Also, allows for those that feed on blood to atone forever and ensure that others see to their punishments too
It would be cool to see him jump into the genetics thing and keep the playthrough interesting. So far it doesn’t seem like it has a direction
At least the empire is reasonable enough to say "Ok, this one's on us. We can't really expect you to keep the bestower apart from his bodyguard."
I love the mental image of Ellie just punching a bug hive with everything she has
Charitable Vampires sounds REALLY awesome and being very fun.
i think wyatt should be the leader considering he's always at the front in battle, leading the colonists to victory with the redhawk
I strongly agree
I like the vampire idea! You could keep repentant slaves and feed on them until the prove themselves worthy of ascending
Having a Sanguiphage is very intriguing.
I vote in full support for it
You really are selling me on Elephants. Combat, hauling and caravans!
Another thought: An ideal colony would have many psychics, but only one or two Empire nobles, considering how hard it is to cater to their opulence.
Vampires could be fun

i am for the vamire idea cause you want it and already set it up fine with the name red chapel right, i know, i love them too : )
The charitable vampire thing sounds dope actually. Be good but with a pinch of grit to remind you that the world is not nice
The exact same thing happened during my first Biotech playtrough! The Hussar guard picked a fight with the bestower and beat her to death.
Thank you for the video!
Some random thoughts:
- Can you install the Numbers mod, so we can see the stats in a glance?

I'm sorry, not the Numbers mod, but the RimHUD.

This episode feels perfect!!
The pacing is imaculate thank you.
The ones before felt a tad bit too fast, thank you or correcting it!
+1, i like the slower episodes
Glad you’re healthy again!!! I like the idea of one of the colonists being a sanguophage, you’re right that it adds a layer of intrigue.
My vote is on Ellie becoming a sanguiphage, mainly because it would be thematically fitting for the two main features of the DLC be represented in one pawn and because she was born to sinners while not being a sinner herself.

Tiny vampire of repentance.

.. and says to the people inside,
"Is this the colony where they play all that rock music"?
I'll get my coat.
As a vampire lover, I love the idea of sanguiphage members. It's an ironic twist on the classic vampire. Do it! 🤩
I've missed this. Welcome back 😊
I would love to see Maniac, this old man, becoming vampire and stopping his slowly walk in to senile age as ultimate rejection of his past sinful life and true reborn as member of believers of Bojo.
yes to the kind vamps
Charitable vampires sounds like a fun time.
The idea of the cult of boyo turning into a vampire cult is low-key kind of hilarious.
Charitable vampires? I'm IN!!!
I got your back Took .... ALWAYS :)
Vampires, hell yeah! Would be awesome!
I like the charitable vampires idea.
Ideological, repenting vampires are an intriguing concept, indeed.
It also makes me envision a third and final part of this trio where the group achieved redemption and becomes a techno-trascendent, drug-enhanced, human-machine enlightenment cult

that at least is not a problem for Pete, he can just check his recordings 😁
I don't see how vampires fit into the theme tbh, taking blood feels like anti-charity and more reason to be guilty. However, since this is step 2 of 3 of the archonexus quest, then maybe make a vampire now, who will make the new ideology and colony next time, a vampire themed run.
Merry Christmas beautiful Pete! ❤🤍
charitable sanguiphages sounds like fun.
While I would want to see one of yours to become a vampire, I am not really convinced, that it is something followers of boyo would do. To became better, but having someone else to pay the price is not something I would think Boyos would do...
Rimworld Vampires? YES DO IT NOW PETE
bring on the reign of vampires who only nibble on you then treat you to a hearty feast
Become sanguophages. That sounds awesome
Do it. Charity Bloodsuckers is an amazing trope
Ellie in the elephant's trunk was adorable.🥲 She looks so happy.
I think for the next building project you should focus on building a large and formal tomb for all those that have departed. If it's at all possible, maybe you can also put the ideology room into it (or at least connect it to it).
I like the idea of vampires in the colony! It's something different, and it could make a few interesting story threads.

As much as he sometimes make mistakes, Kyle has proven himself as caring and vital to the colony, a true believer of boyo.
He shall embrace the gifts of immortality.
I think Wyatt would make better use of the dark gifts of the sanguofage.
You can remove the roof somewhere in that granite door tunnel you built to vent that cooler you built. It'll vent the hot air and you wont have to worry about opening/closing that door everytime something happens
....
Two bestowers walk into a mountain, only one of them leaves.
Having a Sangophague in the colony could enhance the guilty part of their ideology. Giving up their blood as penance!
Shocked Pete didn't try to remove ceiling to make a chimney for the coolers instead of a door. Maybe he did off camera.
Nothing like a new episode
Up to 4 coolers can vent to one square with no roof, then put a rock chunk or barricade in that square to stop drop pods. Just saying, the tunnel is superfluous.
Ascending through psychic powers, with steel and kindness, we shall secure and protect the world.
I would Like to suggest that you keep the theme of Royal Elephants going. Giving our new Elephant the Title of Princess just seems to make sense.
I vote for becoming a cult of underground, vampiric, self-hating technophiles. I don't think it gets more interesting than that. LOL
Great episode!
Just today I got Biotech DLC from my friend as an xmass gift. Can not wait to play it...
BECOME VAMPIRE
You're also going to need to make a big heated room to bait the insects so you don't have to reconstruct half your base with each infestation
We have been tested by infestation of claw and mandible, and have been found worthy!
We shall persevere!
🤣🤣 I love the idea of charitable vampires. I'm sure your more aware than me but you can't alter the genome of vampires or all genes gained from it are lost.
Also one of your motors is under a roof..
Thank you Pete.
always good to start the day with a Pete
Hi pete :> thanks for the episode
Pete, remmeber to take time off from youtube when you can, no point driving your self to exhaustion.
Also an idea, i would love to see you play x-com terror from the deep (actually make it xcom world of terrifying silence)
Sanguiophages may fall into a similar vein as tranhumanists... Pun intended?
Charitable vampires ? I mean, in many stories and novells, they are considered nobles who watch out for people who live under them, protecting them from any threats, both as followers and easy blood source.
Another day another successful surgery!
For the penoxycyline, it last for 14 days, if you want to save on materials and pills, you can have your colonists take them every 14 days or 13 if you want a margin of error.
Ich finde es maximal schlimm das der Sarkophag des kleinen Mädchens aus der, ich glaube ersten Folge, zerstört wurde!!! Das ist so frech!
I'm 50/50 on the vampire thing. But if you do, I vote for Wyatt for the first vampire!
YES TO CHARITABLE VAMPIRES!!!
Happy holidays everyone!!
Hi Pete!
Make Light into a vampire. He needs to be even more edgy.
Better question: Who should get converted, assuming there is a choice? Kinda tempted for it to be Maniac, even if that's probably a bad idea, ha.
atonement, perhaps some charity based drop pod EMS service would do it justice
Have you considered hiding zones? It makes the game look a lot nicer without all those overlays everywhere.
Yeah! Vampires!
Day 500 of asking Pete to turn on the animal name tags in the settings.
If you can, remove the roof over the ac units' room and you'll be able to keep the door always closed.
Love the voice….
Love tha videos

My life for the tribe!!
Seeing artwork of elephant Earl warms my heart! Love it!
Please move the butcher table out of the kitchen, it lowers the cleanliness of any room it's put in.
Vampires!!!
This playthrough is great but dear god the Biotech DLC is absurd lol. What a mess. Vampires with the immorality removed, just what the war crime simulator needed.
Looks like you have a roof over your mortars?
Considering the colony is named red chapel..
Vampire please!
if everyone is vampires how are you supposed to get blood?
Actually, you can put coolers inside the mountain... In base game, no mods required.
Yes vampires. The believers of Boyo believe themselves guilty, why should their repentance last such a short time lile a human lifespan.
Surely they would like to be able to repent indefinitely so they can help more people throughout the aeons.
Is it an upgrade for Light to get the bestower's eltex shirt?
I'd like to see the idea of slavery dropped. It doesn't add anything thematic. If anything, if the colonists are repenting their sins, doubling down by enslaving others just makes that worse. I get that this is Rimworld, aka WarCrimesSimulator, but a well-intention group does not enslave people.
