I still have my 92 RM250 i got in high school.. Worked my balls off for that bike and love it. Still have the original seat that i couldn't afford to replace back then with a ceet graphics an seat kit..i used to get my balls busted at the local sand pits about the seat color way..now that seats worth more then the bike is prob lol. I'm slowlyyyy restoring it 1 peice at a time
Thank you for the content Tony. Even tho the though my old RM finished last lol. I knew that already though. I love it aswell as your channel man. Keep hammering an hope the hip mends well an quick
I have a '92 YZ250! I love that bike, it goes really well with my '01 YZ125. I really enjoyed the shootout coverage, and would love to see more! Thanks.
Please do more shootout videos of all the 250cc two strokes from 1990 - 1999. And after that please cover the Shootouts from 2000-2007 on the 250cc two strokes as well. Great chanel by the way. Im now a subscriber 👍🏻
These shootouts are my favorites of all your videos! I love all the classic bike vids, but these are the best! It takes me back to how excited I'd get when a new shootout issue of a magazine would come out! Thanks for the great content.
Nice job Tony! You hit the nail on the head with shifting that Suzuki! I had a 91 which was almost identical and I had to tap dance on that shifter.... it was tough coming from an 89 KX 250 which was an absolute tractor 🚜
I was 15 in 1992, I remember all these new models with their crazy graphics, my dad bought me the new 91 kx 80 the year before, which I still own to this very day.
Great work again Tony. It’s always nice to have someone pull together all of the Mag’s opinions of the time and sync them together for us “older kids” to revisit and bask in our past. Job well done. So, what would be really cool IMO, because I made the same transition (club hack at best) would be a piece on Jean Michel Bayle. He went from high level mx’er to high level road racer. I can’t think of another rider who pulled that off. It’s pretty special and would be nice tribute / shout out to him. We all tend to see just the glory side of racing that factory guys represent, but that’s a grind that most can’t keep pace with for too long. Anyway, it would be a nice story to bridge dirt and pavement together. Two wheels still rule the roost!
Rm 80 review would be cool, I rode rm 80s from 92 to 96... the rm' s as you know we're the mini to be on back in the early to late 90s best contingency money and Jeff cernic had any part you needed for the thing at the track every weekend. Great video Tony I always look forward to them!
I had a 92 CR250 I bought from a guy that broke his back or neck on it. I was 16/17 years old and I was in love! The suspension was redone by the first owner, so I can’t say much about the complaints about it, but as a pretty green rider this bike just made me better. I could lug it on trails and it pulled on a track. Could do way more than I was capable of!
Great job Mr. B. I had a 1992 CR125 and loved it. The crappy part was the white airbox that would get black from your boots rubbing on it. You would have to use comet and a green scrubby to get it clean again.
Thanks tony for your review. I was 17 back in 92. The kx's blue forks looked cool. I liked the bold 250 swingarm stickers on the RM. The nuclear red CR was abit much for me,but it was a beast. The YZ was cool, loved the colors. And the ktm was no where to be seen. In 92 i had a 1987 YZ125.
Thank you tony for all your reviews of the 90s bikes! I got outta mx in late 80s but now i am stuck again.lol..my bro got a 91 kx250 in a box from a friend at amerocan kawasaki in '93..i am 5'6 and that kx was a huge monster for me i mean huge..hated it.
Oh man...My friend had a fully modified 92' CR250 that was ported with raised compression/full exhaust and jetted perfectly...Competely stock that motor was amazing..Modified it was ferocious and the sound was incredible...If only those early 90's honda's didn't have head shake.
Great video l started out on Kawasaki if you’re able I was looking for the 1980 125 shootout I think that was the first year kawaski used uni -Trak. I can remember it being air cold Keep up good work
I bought a 92 yz 250 when they first came out it was sitting next to a new CR but the cr felt too cramped for some reason, no regrets here, race tech suspension decked the head with a pro circuit pipe and 50/50 VP 110 and pump fuel motul 800 that bike barked I holeshotted more than once against plenty of cr's at glen helen...it had a meaty mid range...the only thing that sucked was the notchy shifting, I hit neutral a few times , by the way I liked that bulge on the side panel it kept you locked in.Did I mention those grab handles on the fender....every bike could use those .
Wow time travel is good , geez I sure had fun on my 1991 KX 250 with the pink in the color and loved the sky blue forks :) we rode many ah good miles and many cool tracks here in the Los Angeles area :) I miss the 2 stroke smell btw in the early 1980s I rode a Kawasaki 750 Triple 2 stroke mean Green machine to much power for the frame and a 19 year old kid , almost kiilled myself on her :( :)
Loved my 92 Kx250 had pro circuit link and dropped the front end and Fmf exhaust I should’ve put that ram valve in it , but stock suspension was incredible it was better than the re valved suspension on my 93Cr250. My friend had the 92Yz250 with Fmf ram valve and exhaust it ran hard but I didn’t like it as much as the Kx or Cr . I had an 89 Rm250 and liked it a lot but I didn’t think by 92 they’d kept up with the others and I didn’t like the looks of it at all .
Lol yeah I'm with you never understood the graphics on these it the late quadracers liked the t shaped seat and six speed gearbox on the quad racer though. Great vids love what you do 👌👍👍
My buddy had a brand new 92 Rm125 back in the day, it was snappy but was crazy loose. I had the awful 91' yz125, i was fast on it, but his bike felt like a rocket compared to the yz. i've always been a yamaha fan, they eventually fixed the 125 in later years and it became a beast, but it was rough in 91.
I had a 1989 YZ125 in 1991 and when my buddy picked up a 1991 RM I could not believe how much snappier it felt. It made my YZ feel like it was broken. Those years were tough if you were on a YZ125.
I have a 93 cr250r ,I have a lot of time and money into it and I'm thinking of getting rid of it cause I feel I'm missing something riding such a old 2stroke. What do you think is the best year cr250r???
In 92 I had a peak/pro circuit 92CR McGrath replica and my brother had the yz u are dead on with the Honda suspension it was terrible,so everyone was going apeshit I had the replica and I had this shitty suspension and my brother was on a magic carpet don’t get it twisted I’m saying I had to put in a lot more work then anyone knew to stay in front and I did but everyone thought I had a factory ride but it was really just the white and blue plastic and the pipe a dealer in jersey put two replicas together a kid I knew bought it new blew the motor and I stepped in and scooped it up at a major discount.Your vids are awesome
If u could do a shootout for the 99 250 if if u get time my two favorite bikes I wish I never sold were the 92 Pro circuit replica and my 99 RM250 I bought as a left over at a killer discount and had the dealer put 3k in it new I did the Hinson clutch basket because they were known to be shit factory pro circuit pipes, suspension, rental chain sprockets a rockstar sticker kit with matching seat when I got it the thing was rediculous couldn’t keep the front wheel down in 1st thru 5th it ran flawlessly I never changed the spark plug and I had it over 2 years
If you love this era of mx, you should have a look at G9 garage, best resto of a 92 RM I have ever seen. Really it's, better than new. And thanks Tony for all the great content!!
That RM's graphcs styling looks like aiming to appeal to mid 80's heavy metal bands like motley crew or scorpions. These guys used to wear thight tiger striped pants that looked gay to me even back in the 80's.
How'd you do that? Even with questionable form, sometimes people get lucky & drive one straight. Not hating, just answering the question. With that said, I'd take luck over skill any day. 😉
Why would you say that? I have owned several of every brand and my favorite bikes I have ever owned are a YZ250 two-stroke a 2009 Yamaha YZ450F. I have liked some Hondas and hated others. Saying I am biased is just ridiculous. I have owned Kawasakis, Suzukis, KTMs, Hondas, and Yamahas that I have loved, and plenty that I have not liked as well. What is it with today everyone throwing out this biased BS about everything? Watch my Blaze Reviews where I go through all the 50 or so bikes I have owned and give my personal opinion on them. Yes, I have opinions and growing up actually riding many of these bikes I can add my personal experiences with them but to call me in the tank for Honda is laughable.
You could have fulled me you did talk ok about Yamaha some what but you also dogged on them to like when you were talking about the year the Yamaha yz 250 was ranked number 1 in some magazine but when on to say but Honda won the ama super cross title that year and then started talking about how this and that was so good on the bike or this bike was so much better totally forgetting to talk about why the Yamaha was ranked the best bike that year and there's other times you will say a certain bike my have good top end speed but not like that Honda and it's not just those two things there's all kinds of little things
I think I was fair and did speak about the 1992 Yamaha which I have ridded quite a bit and absolutely loved. It was my buddies machine but I ride it all the time and was one of my favorite bikes on the 1990s period. Personally, I liked it a lot better than the 1992 CR250R which I did not care for that year. I spoke a quite a bit about the Honda because it DID win all the 250 titles in 1992 and was all-new that year unlike the several-year-old Yamaha design. That did not back it better, just worthy of mentioning.

@@Junior-fd8ux here's my 92 rm250. I love that sound! ua-cam.com/video/eBGsbkmuNvg/v-deo.html
Oh man! I left mine in a shed with some older bikes at my dads and it walked away at some point. I was sad! I wanted to bring it home and restore it.
Should do a 1995 shootout even though not much was different. Would be cool
I love the 92 RMs! Great videos.
I have a '92 YZ250! I love that bike, it goes really well with my '01 YZ125. I really enjoyed the shootout coverage, and would love to see more! Thanks.
The best channel on UA-cam no question.

Hope to see more! I'd love to see how the 97 125's fared against each other
500 shootout would be awesome
luv the shootouts!! Bradshaw was the MAN. A great guy, very nice and easy to talk to . Beast from the East.
Nice job Tony! You hit the nail on the head with shifting that Suzuki! I had a 91 which was almost identical and I had to tap dance on that shifter.... it was tough coming from an 89 KX 250 which was an absolute tractor 🚜
Some of the best year's. Very accurate descriptions of these bike's.
yes . do minis shootout sir 🙏
I love the styles of the early 90’s with the hot bright colors. I really wish they would bring it back. Especially with the gear

Those white tanks and airboxs were a pain in the ass!
Thanks tony for your review.

Hi Tony. Fantastic as usual (delivery, quality of in vid photos and having a medium to view & reminisce). Keep it up!

Wow, thanks Tony! Another hit! I just want to comment the last images of the KTM section were from the 500.
Can you do a video on the rmx250 89-98 us models?? Awesome video. 92 rm250 is one of my favorite bikes.

I can do that! I do have a Mcgrath Yamaha available if you want to check it out.
Diggin the shootout vid
Thanks
Great video! just ordered a shirt!
Thank you very much!
Tony talks old two-strokes, I click play faster than James on a 125.
😂 thanks
Another great video. Glad to see your channel growing. Will you be making any merch with just your logo on it, without a specific bike?
Thanks. I do have Murch available just with the logo on it yes it’s available right now on the store

I love this channel but I wish there was an equivalent channel for streetbikes of the 80s/90s.
I actually wouldn’t mind doing something on the original hurricane or some of the 80s Honda Interceptors. I had an 85 interceptor 500 and loved it.

Can I get a set for my 86 Kx 500🤔?
Good era all the bikes were trippy
Lets all just admit that the Suzuki is a great looking bike! 😬
Fair enough!
If you love this era of mx, you should have a look at G9 garage, best resto of a 92 RM I have ever seen. Really it's, better than new.

Would you say the 86 cr had better suspension than the 91?
The forks were way way better in 1986 the shock was not great either year

Do the 86 80s cc
I will be doing it in the future
How'd you do that?
Even with questionable form, sometimes people get lucky & drive one straight. Not hating, just answering the question.
With that said, I'd take luck over skill any day. 😉
Can you do the 1994 250 Shootout?
Yes
@@TheMotocrossVault hey I was wondering if you could tell me if my 1992 kx250 is good enough compared to my friends bikes which are 2005 crf250rs
Oddly enough i have yet to ride a ktm that has good front end feel and those air forks are the worst
