I’ve never seen a school use regular Linux on their student machines or whatever It’s always either ChromeOS or Windows (maybe even Macs if the school is rich as fuck)

They use a customized Ubuntu build (Which is incredibly insecure; the password is *password,* the root user is available and the kernel + the Ubuntu version is outdated) with software like Ktouch, Kdenlive, Ghemical, GIMP, Audacity etc. It isn't to save money since the schools buy laptops with Windows preloaded and they install Ubuntu on it.

As a reminder, almost all schools have specialized iPXE Boot Menus, that reinstalls windows every night. So if someone ACUTALLY messes with the computer, since it will refresh, it will not matter

The school IT department then changed it to the IT department is really watching you and watched my reaction on the CCTV. MS-DOS (16-BIT) doesn't have System32 (64-BIT) even though in Windows System32 does contain MS-DOS applications unless it from another install or drive, so no, it is a bunch of BS and if it magically started deleting System32... The creator might be referring to the "IT Guy" as in a student in a school who think they know everything but doesn't and not the school IT.
If the it guy cant fugure this out he shouldn't be the it guy. First system 32 is only on 64bit devices which DOS is only 16 bit, and 100% never had any 64 but releases. Second you're not gonna fucking be able to install DOS on anything made after 2005. Hell probably not much after y2k.
oh man I'm old now... I literally did this at my school back in the day (about 30yrs ago). I wrote a fake dos and a fake Norton Disk Lock login screen. It would save your login, then drop you into my fake dos. After that it would eventually lock up or reboot. Within a week I had the admin login/password.
As an IT-Guy this would take me 30 secs before I try and press F11 and if I dont the PC restart would "fix" that anyways which would be tried in under 60sec. Therfore thsi is a good way to prank non IT ppl not IT ppl xD
if you want to do this prank on a mac, to do the same thing as f11 on mac, click "View" from the menubar and click "Always Show Toolbar in Full Screen". u can re-enable the toolbar by clicking the button again. now ur it will be perplexed on how u got windows on ur school which apparently is one of the only ones with macs inside
I just got the job at an MSP so i’m basically the it guy for many company’s and this would be something super simple to tell because we just memorize so many different commands and troubleshooting would help me see this is just a browser when all I do is press windows.
